南海的历史与目前现状

首先我们看一看南海的历史和地理位置。

南海总面积350万平方公里，有大小200多个岛礁组成，岛屿大都狭小。南海诸岛根据地理位置，分为东沙群岛、西沙群岛、中沙群岛、南沙群岛。其中面积最大者为东沙岛，面积12平方公里，其他各岛面积要小得多，其中西沙最大永兴岛1.85平方公里，南沙最大岛屿太平岛0.4平方公里。
