国庆节的那一天，天气晴朗，爸爸开着车带我和妈妈到花岙岛去旅游。

我来到那里，看见人来人往，真是热闹极啦!只见前面是波涛滚滚的大海。在海的西边不远处，连绵的群山若隐若现。山的前面是一望无际的大海。微风一吹，波纹道道，在阳光的照射下银光闪闪，好像千万条银鱼在水中嬉戏。眼前的美景不禁使人想起来啦“舟行碧波上，人在画中游”的诗句。

每年的十月一日是国庆节，也是伟大祖国母亲的.生日。在这一天里，全国人民都在庆祝这个神圣的日子。

一大早工人们就把我们的家园打扮的五彩缤纷、漂漂亮亮、格外美丽。在旱冰场旁摆满了许许多多的花儿，一排排，美丽极了。你看，还有几朵花儿在那里争奇斗艳呢!

再往前一点就是我们厂办工大楼，从远处一看就能清晰地看见几个红彤彤的灯笼上写了几个大字：国庆节快乐。走到办公大楼门前一看，哇!好漂亮的花儿呀，有红的、紫的、白的、黄的等格外美丽，简直就是花的天堂。还有超市门前挂着许许多多五彩缤纷的彩旗，显得格外喜庆。

同学们有的跟着爸爸妈妈一起去参观名胜古迹，还有的回到老家去看望长辈，并且一起来庆祝国庆节。

而我呢，真是可怜不能出去游玩，因为我身体不舒服而要做一个小手术，没有办法，只好在医院里度过咯。不过还好，我一点也不觉得孤单，因为有爸爸妈妈陪伴，还有护士阿姨的细心护理。另外，每个病房还有电视看，可以看到关于国庆的节目，还有神舟七号返回的状观景象，我也就不觉得孤单。

就这样，不知不觉国庆七天长假过去了，我也该出院了。

十月一日也是国庆节。

一早爸爸妈妈就带我回老家玩。

我们首先来到我们老家的娘娘山。进了娘娘庙看到。了一位漂亮的仙女石像。

出了娘娘庙我们又来到对面的公园府公园里的树木真多啊!一株株又高又大像来到了森林。公园里有许多小朋友正在画画我花了十元钱画了一副艺术珍珠画。

后来我们又来到儿童公园。一下出租车我立刻奔向儿童公园的大门。儿童公园里人真多啊。我和妈妈玩了坐飞机浏览公园。最剌激、玩的就是跳蹦床了。一个阿姨抱我上了一个大跳台她帮我穿

上一条短裤一样的东西。我的脚用力往跳床上一蹲就飞快地被冲到了空中然后又从半空中坠落下来我的心咚咚地跳。这样不停地跳跃一会儿我飞向天空一会儿冲回大地。过了一会儿妈妈说：“该回家了

”。我恋恋不舍地离开了儿童公园。

这真是一个难忘的长假啊。

五一劳动节到了,许多人都放假了,都准备去游玩或家里人团圆。反正每个家庭都各有各的过法。我们一家子就准备去爬山了。

早晨我们六点多就起床了，天还没有大亮呢，周围十分安静。我们东西收拾好了，准备出发了。我们不多时就来到山脚下。我抬头一望，不由自主地说：“啊!山真高真陡啊。”我有点害怕了，但我还是不放弃，坚持要爬。

我们开始爬了，不一会儿就来到了半山腰。忽然，我的肚子疼了起来，爸爸妈妈也累了，于是我们坐在一块大石头上歇歇脚。过了一会儿，爸爸妈妈要起程了，但我太累了，不想再爬了，便对爸爸说：“爸爸，我们回去吧!”爸爸严肃地说：“不爬了?可以，但是你永远也看不到山顶美丽的景色了。你在这儿休息吧，我们上去了。”我听了，马上从石头上跳了下来，说：“我要看到山顶的景色。”爸爸妈妈一下子笑了。原来他们知道我偷懒，便给我来了个将计就计。

我们有开始爬了起来，不一会儿就来到了山顶。“啊!这景色多美啊!”我不由赞叹到。我想：如果我刚才不上来，我真的得后悔莫极了。

我站在一块大石头上，往下一望，下面弥漫着烟雾，我们象站在人间仙境一般。山上都是绿色的，我们又好象在绿色的世界里。我还看到一种不知名的花，十分香。还听到了鸟叫声，听起来心里特别愉快.舒畅。我还看到山下的汽车，象一只只小蚂蚁一样，在马路上行使。有一句俗话说得好：站的高.望得远。这时，我才闻到早晨大自然的一股迷人的气吸。

从这件事中，我懂的了如果做什么事都没坚持，那么你永远也不要想看到美好的结果。

I understand your well-respected college offers a number of places to overseas students every year, and I am writing to enquire about the application procedure.

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are History, Economics and English Literature. In addition to these subjects, "Use of English" is also a compulsory subject because a pass in English is a minimum requirement for admission to most faculties of the University of Hong Kong.

Apart from academic work, I have been actively involved in extra-curricular activities. I am Chairman of the English Club and I have represented my school in many inter-school contests.

because learning busy and have no spare time to read reference books. Winter

holiday is coming now, we just can use the time to read reference books.
