我们每个人都生活在集体中，既然是集体，就一定有一个共同的目标，那就需要大家通过精诚合作共同实现。然而组成集体的个人又有自己的小目标，那就不可避免有竞争。只有通过竞争，个人的价值才会得以实现，进而实现集体的价值；只有通过合作，集体才能不断进步，不断发展，为个人提供更好的生存空间。

所以说，竞争和合作无论对于集体还是个人都有十分重要的意义。

众所周知，乒乓球是我们的国球，睥睨世界，所有国家都难望之项背。我们经常在国际比赛中看到这样一幕，两个中国运动员争夺金牌，我认为这是很残酷的，那意味着平日里的战友瞬间变成你死我活的对手，即使两个人平时再怎样亲密无间，占到比赛场地的那一刻就注定有一方会站在最高领奖台上，而另一方只能屈居第二。同携手并肩一路杀来，到最后的结果是“自相残杀”，但正是有这种“自相残杀”，每个人才会拼命训练，认真比赛，坚持到最后一秒，这样一来，整个国家队的水平就会不断提高，不断进步，不会因为取得了成绩而洋洋自得。而在这种竞争背后，一定是队员们的通力合作，一起分析战术，一起研究打法，一起琢磨对付外国运动员的办法。

我们的生活不也是这样吗，每次考试我们都会有排名，我们每天都面对着非常激烈的班内竞争，各自暗暗努力，狠下功夫，同时，我们有必须团结一心，通过合作，在班与班的竞争中崭露头角，推而广之，通过班级竞争，提高整个学校的成绩，在市里省里的竞争中夺取桂冠……
