现今，我们生存的世界是一个日益竞争的社会，在其中机遇与挑战并存。竞争在我们的社会生活中是一个普遍的现象。我们为学业成绩、为好工作、为晋升、为成功或为了更好的生活而竞争。更重要的是，在国家之间有着全球性的竞争：社会进步和经济增长的竞争；科技的发展的竞争和体育或比赛的竞争。我们可以在一定程度上说，竞争是社会发展主要动力之一。没有竞争，就不会有社会的进步和个人的发展。我们可以说我们生活在一个鼠窜比赛的世界里。

我们通常会发现竞争与合作同时并存。我们生活的社会是一个精诚合作的社会，一个懂得怎样与他人合作的人往往会把他自己置于成功之路。想一想棒球游戏。每个队伍都在和其他队竞争，但是队伍的每个成员都在与他的队友合作。在大多数情况下，我们不能离开合作而竞争。因此他们同等重要。我们不能过分重视一个而忽视另一个。

当我们提倡竞争时，我们不能忘记合作。任何事都不能走极端。单纯并单一的竞争会导致失败。只有当竞争和合作一起时，才能在最大限度内帮助我们实现目标并满足我们的需求，特别是使我们的国家现代化。因此我们必须学会协调竞争与合作的平衡，学会展示自己以便抓住机会赢得竞争。

让我先讲一则小故事：

很久很久以前，有两个饥饿的年轻人同时遇到一位老人，老人有一筐鱼和一支鱼竿，让两位年轻人各选一样，一个人选了一筐鱼，另一个选了一支鱼竿，然后各奔东西了，选择鱼竿的年轻人一心想到大海去钓鱼，可是路途遥远，在途中饿死了，另一个年轻人无所事事，鱼吃完便饿死了。后来，又有两个尽力疲惫的年轻人遇到了这位老人，他们也各自选了一样物品，不同的是，他们一起去前往大海，途中，他们饿了，就吃那筐鱼，不知过了多久，他们同时到了大海，靠着那着鱼竿，过上了有鱼的幸福生活。

这则通俗的故事，我想大家会有所感悟吧!两位年轻人之间的相互合作使他们生存了下来。

除了合作，竞争也是十分重要的，接下来我再说一下这个故事的后篇。

成为渔民的两个年轻人，经过努力，有了自己的渔船。他们早上出海捕鱼，黄昏时伴着大海醉人的脸庞归航，不知不觉，两人暗地里交上了劲，为了使自己捕获的鱼比对方的更多更大，两人都更加勤奋，天还不亮就出海捕鱼，伴晚归航时，小船都装满了鱼。在这种竞争的关系中日复一日，两人的生活更加富裕，日子更加幸福。

由这个故事的后篇，可以发现，竞争是向上的不竭动力。

在当今世界，一个人要想成功，必须要有合作与合作的竞争。自己要通过与别人的竞争不断增强自己的能力，使自己变得强大起来，同时还要积极与别人合作，共同进步。想必大家都知一根筷子很容易折断吧，但是五根呢?十根呢?其实，如果一根筷子质量好的话也就不容易折断了，而这好的质量来源于哪里呢?来源于个筷子厂的相互竞争，而刚才说的五根，十根的数量就是合作，如果质量与数量，合作与竞争有机的结合起来，所产生的力量是巨大的。

在我们的班级中，也应该有一种竞争与合作的良好氛围，在竞争中共同成长，在合作中促进竞争。那么我们就会走向成功!

Today, my family go to the zoo. We go there by car, and we arrive there at

around 3 p.m. I see many kinds of animals in the zoo, like dog, elephant, rabbit

and giraffe. They are so cute. I watch them for a long time. At around 6 p.m, we

go back home. This trip is interesting.

今天，我们一家去了动物园。我们坐小汽车去的，下午3点左右到达了那里。在动物园里我看到了好多种动物，比如小狗，大象，兔子还有长颈鹿。它们很可爱。我观察它们很长时间。在下午6点左右，我们回到了家。这次旅行真有趣。

The Mid-Autumn Day

August 15th in Chinese Lunar Calendar is the Mid-Autumn Day. It is one of the most important traditional festivals in China.

On that day people usually go back home to have family reunion . Each family will have the members get together to have a big dinner. The most popular food is moon cakes. They are round and look like the moon.

The moon is the brightest this night. People eat the delicious food while they are enjoying a beautiful full moon in their yard. At this time, some old people would like to tell many past events and tell the children a story about the rabbit on the moon . The children really believe that there is a rabbit on the moon. They hope to go to the moon and have a look one day.

What a great festival!

中秋节

农历八月十五日是中秋节，在中国它是最重要的传统节日之一。

在那一天，人们通常回家与家人团聚，一家人聚在一起饱餐一顿。最流行的食品是月饼，它们圆圆的就像月亮。

中秋节晚上的月亮特别地圆。人们都在自家的院子里一边赏月一边吃着可口的月饼。这个时候 ，一些老人会讲述许多古老的故事，如月亮上的玉兔，孩子们信以为真，他们真想有一天登上月球看个究竟。

中秋是个美好的节日啊!

I am ten years old. I like playing piano. And I have a good teacher. She is

beautiful, just like the fairy from the heaven. She likes wearing white dress.

Her hair is long and straight. And her fingers are the most beautiful I have

ever seen. They are long and thin. She can use them to play wonderful songs. I

feel pleasant when I hear her songs. I want to be as excellent as her in the

future.

我十岁了。喜欢弹钢琴。我有一个很好的老师。她很漂亮，就像天上的仙女一样。她喜欢穿白色的衣服。她的头发又长又直。她的手指是我见过最漂亮的，又细又长。她可以用它们来演奏美妙的歌曲。听她的歌我会很愉悦。将来我也想成为像她一样优秀的人。
