大国的国家安全十分厚重，但缝隙也会很多。大众是国家安全的最终受益者，也是它不可缺场的维护者。中国公众如今在对外领土摩擦时，表现出高涨的维护国家安全热情，但在平凡的日常环境里，这样的热情并不稳定。

成立中央国家安全委员会是一个契机，我们希望它带来社会层面对国家安全从理解到重视的诸多强化。说到底，对中国国家安全的不断夯实，仅靠专业力量是远远不够的。实现中国国家安全也需要类似“人民战争”的广泛参与。

国家安全牢不可破了，个人安全就有了稳定的大环境，我们对人生的筹划，以及个人成就的积累，就不会轻易被突如其来的社会及国家变故。

国家安全是在每个大国都很突出的概念，相比较而言，中国舆论对它的强调大概是最少的。而对维护国家安全，既要做，也要说，要在全社会形成一种强大的价值取向：维护国家安全光荣，损害国家安全可耻。
