而现在我看到的，却是另一个景象：除了我们家，一座座别墅拔地而起，里面都是华丽的装饰。一座座房屋由宽阔而纵横交错的柏油马路连接。走出村庄，只见一栋栋高楼大厦、酒店、宾馆令人目不暇接。真是令我目瞪口呆！

但是，这儿也有美中不足。原来清澈见底的河流发黑、发臭，里面的小鱼小虾肯定也难逃一劫。路边随处可见一些垃圾，以前清新的空气现在已夹杂着汽车的尾气，以前是蓝天白云，现在的天空却一片灰暗。我情愿生活在以前，虽然生活条件不太好，但至少可以看到那可爱的小鱼小虾，呼吸到新鲜的空气，拥抱大自然。

When I was a child, there was only one black and white TV set in our village. And I don’t know what’s computer. I often went to school on foot. The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated by boat races (龙舟赛) in the shape of dragons. Competing teams (竞争团队) row their boats forward to a drumbeat (击古)racing to reach the finish end first.

The boat races during the Dragon Boat Festival are traditional customs (传统习俗)to attempts to (试图)rescue (搭救) the patriotic poet (爱国诗人)Chu Yuan. Chu Yuan drowned (溺死) on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in 277 B.C. Chinese citizens now throw bamboo leaves (竹叶) filled with cooked rice into the water. Therefore the fish could eat the rice rather than the hero poet. This later on turned into the custom of eating tzungtzu and rice dumplings(棕子).

The celebrations is a time for protection (防护) from evil (邪恶) and disease (疾病) for the rest of the year. It is done so by different practices such as hanging healthy herbs on the front door, drinking nutritious concoctions (营养品), and displaying (展示) portraits (画像) of evils nemesis(邪恶报应), Chung Kuei. If one manages to (成功做...) stand (直立)an egg on its end at exactly 12:00 noon, the following year will be a lucky one.

Before I entered the middle school, I felt so worried about the life in

middle school, because my cousin told me that I would have to compete with so

坦洲的大冲口水闸，我去的次数也不少了，最爱吃那里的海鲜。听大人们说，那个水闸是保护坦洲、三乡、神湾、珠海等地区的重要屏障，如果水闸崩溃的话，连坦洲政府的大礼堂都要被水浸到1.4米以上。哇！那不是整个坦洲都几乎被淹没？有一次天阴沉沉的，雨水连绵不断，我们陪着姑妈顺着简陋的泥路去大冲口吃海鲜。路面泥泞不堪，从坦洲镇中心出发花了近一个小时才到达大冲口。当时的水闸不大，已经十分破旧，闸外的水已经高过里面的水位有1米多了，车子从堤上经过时真让人胆颤心惊的。但现在你在去看看，一定会惊讶的。车子在宽敞的水泥路面上行驶，两旁的绿化树摇曳生姿，大概20多分钟就可以到达大冲口水闸了。你会看见一座大型的现代化新水闸屹立在大堤上，在夕阳的照耀下闪闪发光，妈妈说里面可全部都是电脑机械化控制的。随着中山经济实力的提高，短短的一年多时间，大冲口水闸已经重建完工了。听大人们说，水闸投资了一亿多元。虽然花费的人力财力多，但为了人民的安全，也值。现在，大家都在小心地维护着这道重要屏障。
