Most people miss their grade school days and think they are the happiest time of their life, but whenever I recall them I cannot help feeling a little sad. In my young days I disliked any dismal atmosphere and could not bear the feeling of loneliness, yet the fact was that I often lived in a dismal home and frequently had the bitter taste of lonesomeness. I was not cheerful even in the company of my classmates at the grade school I attended. was almost eight o’clock. I didn’t want to go out, so I opened the fridge, there

were many stuffs for me to make dinner. I had never done it before, I only

watched my mother cook, but I still wanted to try. I made a fire and put the

meat in the pan, the flavors were also mixed in it. When the meat almost got

black, I finished. Whe I tasted, I realized the meat was over cooked. I must

learn to cook.

The Spring Festival, the most jubilant and important festival in China, is

observed by most Chinese people at home and abroad. Our hometown is not an

exception.

Similar with other places in china, we prepare for the festival about half

a month before. With the lunar New Year approaching, the red lanterns are hung

up along the main streets, making the ancient town filled with the festival

atmosphere. While people clean up their houses, decorate it with traditional

decorations such as Chinese knots and paper cutting. Each family pastes up

Spring Festival couplets to convey their best wishes for the coming year.

My home village is a beautiful village far from the town. There is a clear brook arcs around the village, making the vil]age like a peninsula.

我的家乡是一个远离城镇的美丽村庄，有一条清澈的小河弧形环绕着，看起来像一个半岛。

On one side of the brook, are farmlands stretching as far as the eyes can see with farmers busy in the fields. The sunshines brightly through the pure, fresh air. After dark, I liked to roam around the fields along footpaths. The feeling was excellent.

从小河畔望去，你会看到农民们在无垠的田地里忙碌的身影，明亮的阳光透过纯净的、清新的空气射过来。黄昏，我喜欢沿着田间小道漫步，那种感觉真是妙极了。

On the other side of the brook, there are many trees. There are lots of green bamboo groves. The trees offer nice shade in the summer, and birds like singing in them. The bamboos sway gently in the fresh summer breeze. The brook runs calmly anti quietly through all this greenness, making a very nice picture.

在小河的一边有许多树木，还有一片翠绿的竹林。夏天，绿树成荫，鸟儿们喜欢在这里唱歌，竹林在夏天的微风申轻轻摇摆,小河静静地在绿色中流淌，这些构成一幅美丽的。

This is my home village. It is far away in the country, but always with me,wherever I am.

这就是我的家乡。它虽远在乡下，但不论我身在何方，它都会伴随着我。

We are always told that time is precious so that we shall cherish it. Even

though most of us know the necessity of making use of time, when we start our
