For almost two hundred years, the White House has stood as a symbol of the Presidency, the United States government, and the American people. Its history, and the history of the nations capital, began when President George Washington signed an Act of Congress in December of 1790 declaring that the federal government would reside in a district "not exceeding ten miles square...on the river Potomac." President Washington, together with city planner Pierre LEnfant, chose the site for the new residence, which is now 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. As preparations began for the new federal city, a competition was held to find a builder of the "Presidents House." Construction began when the first cornerstone was laid in October of 1792. Although President Washington oversaw the construction of the house, he never lived in it. It was not until 1800, when the White House was nearly completed, that its first residents, President John Adams and his wife, Abigail, moved in. Since that time, each President has made his own changes and additions. The White House is, nts private home. The White House has a unique and fascinating history. It survived a fire at the hands of the British in 1814 and another fire in the West Wing in 1929, while Herbert Hoover was President. Throughout much of Harry S. Trumans presidency, the interior of the house, with the exception of the third floor, was completely gutted and renovated while the Trumans lived at Blair House, right across Pennsylvania Avenue. Nonetheless, the exterior stone walls are those first put in place when the White House was constructed two centuries ago.

Presidents can express their individual style in how they decorate some parts of the house and in how they receive the public during their stay. Thomas Jefferson held the first Inaugural open house in 1805. Many of those who attended the swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol simply followed him home, where he greeted them in the Blue Room. President Jefferson also opened the house for public tours, and it has remained open, except during wartime, ever since. In addition, he welcomed visitors to annual receptions on New Year’s Day and on the Fourth of July. In 1829, a horde of 20,000 Inaugural callers forced President Andrew Jackson to flee to the safety of a hotel while, on the lawn, aides filled washtubs with orange juice and whiskey to lure the mob out of the mud-tracked White House.

After Abraham Lincolns presidency, Inaugural crowds became far too large for the White House to accommodate them comfortably. However, not until Grover Clevelands first presidency did this unsafe practice change. He held a presidential review of the troops from a flag-draped grandstand built in front of the White House. This procession evolved into the official Inaugural parade we know today. Receptions on New Years Day and the Fourth of July continued to be held until the early 1930s.

President Clintons open house on January 21, 1993 renewed a venerable White House Inaugural tradition. Two thousand citizens, selected by lottery, were greeted in the Diplomatic Reception Room by President and Mrs. Clinton and Vice President and Mrs. Gore.

第二部分：英语知识运用

(I)单项填空

单项填空题在保证知识覆盖面的基础上,突出一贯倡导的语境化、交际化的特点,题干力求语言生动、地道,语境真实、新颖,所选考点都是《考试说明》中所列的语法知识和要求掌握的词汇。该部分涉及动词时态和语态、固定搭配考查的有24、26、28题，33题考查倍数表达法，25、35题考查交际用语。同时兼顾对代词、形容词短语等项目的考查。整体考查全面,要求考生掌握好基础知识。

XXX年安徽卷单项填空试题考查项目数据统计：

从这个统计表格中我们可以看出，2013年高考在单项填空部分考查了考试大纲所要求的基本考点，考查的项目多达13项。主要考查了动词的时态与语态、非谓语动词以及交际用语。但去掉了对冠词、主谓一致和其它特殊句式的考查。各题题干简洁，却能够给考生创设一个个较为完整的语言情景，这有利于考查学生在具体语境下对所学过语言知识的掌握情况。

(II)完形填空

完形填空是一篇议论文，作者谈了如何学好一门语言，难度属于中等。综合考查考生在语篇中对词汇的掌握和运用能力,以及对篇章逻辑的理解和把握能力。从考点上看，主要考查实词，兼顾虚词。请看下表。

第三部分：阅读理解

根据考试说明，阅读理解主要考查学生六个方面的能力，即理解事实细节、理解主旨要义、推理判断、猜测词义、理解文章的基本结构、理解作者的意图，观点和态度。下面是近四年的阅读理解题的考点分布表。

(I)任务型读写

任务型读写题与2012年相比,难度相当,内容是关于幸福，学生读起来较为轻松，题目设置有梯度，答题要求简练和规范。涉及词语释义、同意替换、归纳演绎、细节理解等。 近几年安徽卷任务型读写所选文章以说明文为主，内容贴近现代社会生活。2013年此题的难度与往年持平。这就要求考生在阅读理解的基础上，对文中所提供的信息的有效信息进行筛选、整合和综合概括，并根据表格的形式，把加工后的信息准确、有序地完成与短文有关的表格，这一题型共10题，每个空格只能填一个词。其特点是任务型阅读属于综合能力考查题，考查的能力有：(1)捕捉信息能力，属基础题，快速获取信息的能力;在这十个空中，捕捉信息题要占一半。(2)组织信息能力，属活用题，考查学生组织信息和表叙信息以及对文中的有效信息进行筛选、整合和综合概括的能力。(3)概括信息能力，属概括题，要求学生在获取相关信息后，根据表格相关要求，对所获取的信息进行二次加工，这主要考查学生综合运用语言的能力。

(II)书面表达

XX年安徽省高考英语书面表达题统计表：

书面表达依旧属于话题作文，关于文明校园征稿，难度不大。命题贴近考生生活,符合考生的认知水平,能够让不同层次的考生都能不同程度地发挥自己的英语水平,体现考试的公平性。

期中考试已经结束了，这次考试是对于不少刚刚接触英语的初一新生而言是一次重要的考试，是全面衡量学生这段时间学习情况的一次考试。下面我主要从以下几个方面来分析：

一、考试质量分析

1.试题方面

就整个试题而言，考点分布均匀，覆盖面广，考题难度适中，大部分试题能够体现目前注重基础、体现能力的考试命题要求。

2.试卷方面

本次考试题型，分为听力部分、辨音、单项选择、阅读理解、完形填空，词汇运用，阅读表达，翻译句子和写作几个大部分，各部分难易程度不同。大部分题都比较基础，和平时的练习比较起来相对集中一些，更能反映出学生在这一阶段学习中的问题。

此次英语考试的听力部分，内容为与日常教学相关的材料，与所学教材难度相当，较为简单。朗读速度适中，对平日教学的听力训练有着良好的导向作用。但在第一节中还是有部分学生容易犯书写不规范的错误，也有些学生“g”、“j”不分，“r”、“l”混淆，因而造成较多失分。这学期对学生在听力方面的练习不是很多，除了在课堂上少量练习外，平时课下学生几乎得不到练习。

单项选择，突出了课本和平常练习中较基础的知识，学生训练较多，此部分得分较好。

完形填空，对于我校大部分基础较薄弱学生而言觉得难度较大，因选项具有大的灵活性，而学生在平时对单词的记忆和对句子的积累还不够牢，而且也没有掌握好做题技巧，没有联系上下文推测出正确答案，以至于此部分得分较低。

翻译句子，由于平时练习较多，且反复强调大小写及单词、字母的正确书写，因此这部分得分比预计要好。阅读表达学生在此题得分较少，不是多了这个就是漏了那个，答的不好，得分非常低。

写作部分大部分学生书写较差，只有极少数学生在这部分未动笔。

二、分析原因

教师方面的原因：

这段时间由于课时多，时间紧，因此对学生部分知识掌握情况的落实不够，这也是这次考试成绩不高的原因之一。从这次考试中应该吸取这样的教训。在以后的英语教学中，加大管理力度，提高学生在课堂上的学习效率。

学生方面的原因：

1.部分学生的基础知识不够扎实，且大部分学生毫无学习习惯而言，记忆知识极难，遗忘知识快，过去滚瓜烂熟的东西一段时间不用就忘了。

2.学生的应变能力有待提高，不能正确写出单词的正确形式。

3.理解能力不强，完形填空、阅读理解失分较多，不能理解通篇大意。

4.不能熟练运用学过的句型。很容易漏掉be动词。

三、今后采取的措施

抓好单词、词组过关，狠抓知识落实。在进行单词和词组教学时，首先让学生读准音，然后反复读单词和词组，并找出同义词、反义词、类似用法的词一起记。在进行句型时，以小组合作等方式举一反三，反复练习课堂上学习的句型。平时督促学生多听录音磁带，一星期集中训练两次听力，在培养学生的听力技巧和听力能力上多下功夫，提高他们的听力能力和听力技巧。

在阅读教学中，设计一些问题，通过学生自读文章找出其答案，在整体上感知文章内容。而且讲解文章时，注意生词在句中的运用、注意文章里出现的词组，注意对关键句子的理解。针对学生阅读能力差的问题，将通过大量阅读来培养学生的语感以及通过上下文捕捉信息的能力，还要注意文化背景知识的学习，拓宽学生的知识，开阔学生的视野。

不会用英文写作文是绝大多数学生的通病。作文是由句子构成，一个正确的句子需要用正确的句型、正确的词组，正确的时态构成。训练学生的答题技巧和书写方面的好习惯。写好作文，没有诀窍，只有多写多练。

在今后的教学中，我们将继续抓好双基知识的训练，打牢基本功;引导学生梳理知识，掌握语法规则，逐步引导学生灵活运用英语知识的能力;培养学生上课时的听课习惯，要求学生全神贯注，要和老师同步思考出现的问题;讲课时，尽量使用简明、准确、形象、生动的语言，坚持用英语教学，让学生用英语来想英语;在平时要通过阅读，培养学生阅读多种文体的能力，如何从文章中获取信息的能力和运用英语解决实际问题的能力。在训练中要注意方法的多样化和灵活性，同时，启发他们学会运用多种不同的方法来表达同样的思想，逐步培养良好的英语语感。在培优辅差上下功夫，大面积提高学生的优秀率和合格率。

简而言之，评讲试卷必须结合试卷的特点和学生的实际情况，切不可草率行事。 怎样才能有效的评讲英语试卷呢?

第一、认真了解和初步分析试卷。在评讲前，教师有必要用自己教给学生的方法亲自把试卷做一遍，以便确定试题的检测范围和感受试题的难度。在做题的过程中可以预测学生的难点，也可以根据学生所学内容，看看哪些题目超出了学生的学习范围。当然，也可以检阅试卷的不足，以便今后选择并合理利用英语试卷。

第二、认真统计学生成绩。在批阅完学生试卷后，认真统计学生的成绩是很有必要的。统计的项目主要有：求出平均值和求出差距。在统计出平均成绩后，可以参照其他班的情况分析，确定该班的成绩位置。平均分较低，就说明该班的成绩较差。如果平均分较高，那该班的整体情况就较好。另外，还要排列出全班考生中的最高分和最低分，找出二者之间的差距。差距越大，两级分化就越严重，教学的难度就越大。在排列学生成绩时，最好由高分到低分排列，找出中间位置考生的分数，并把该成绩列为全班成绩的中位数。在评讲试题时，要特别注意中位段的学生的反映和效果。

第三、根据学生的成绩和分析情况，再次分析试卷，并做好学生的错误统计。在分析学生成绩后，及时的看学生答题的错误率，从中找出学生的典型错题。错误率较高的题目，就是要评讲的重点部位。这部分题目，既是学生应该关注的，也是教师应该详细评讲的。在统计错误率后，教师应该耐心的查阅典型错题，分析学生答错的原因，反思自己教学上的不足。对于，教师很难作分析的题目，要及时与学生进行交流，然后再确定学生做错的根源。 第四、认真耐心的评讲试卷。在试卷发给学生之后，教师可以安排学生自主讨论和简单分析自己的试卷。教师最好要提示学生如何讨论和分析。例如，要求学生发现自己的错题，并尽力分析出错题的知识类别：是宾语从句还是动词不定式，还是动名词或是其他的。

This morning, on my way to school, I was riding when I heard a call for help. A little girl was calling for help in the river nearby. I immediately got off my bike, took off my clothes and jumped into the river. At last the girl was saved, After sending the girl back home, I hurried to school. But I was still late for class. Not knowing the reason, the teacher criticized me.

However, in the afternoon the girls parents came to my school and thanked me for having saved their daughter. Soon the story spread all over the school. TherefOre, the teacher knew why I was late this morning and he apologized to me. The headmaster also praised me and called on all the students to learn from me.

This morning on my way to school, I was riding when I heard a call for help. A girl fell into the river! I got off my bike, took off my clothes and jumped into the river. After a few minutes struggle, I finally saved the girl, I informed the girls parents and then hurried to school. But I was still late for class. Not knowing the reason, the teacher criticized me.

In the afternoon, the girls parents came to my school and thanked me for having saved their daughter. After the teacher learned the whole thing,he made an apology to me. And the headmaster praised me and also called on all the students to learn from me. I felt very proud.
