猎豹的奔跑速度很是惊人，每小时的速度大约有130千米，跟高速公路上飞速奔跑的车子差不多。

但是，它的耐力差，高速奔跑只限于几秒钟，所以被誉为短跑冠军。

猎豹捕食也很有意思。当它发现鹿时，先会向四周观察一下，看看有什么不速之客。如果没有，它就以闪电般的速度向猎物追去。轻而易举地捉住之后，它就把猎物拖到草丛中，美美地饱餐一顿。如果猎物在树上，它就跳到树上把猎物给逮住，大吃一顿。
