Genghis Khan, "Khan of Khans", was the great leader of Mongolians. At the end of 12th century, he united Mongolian tribes and challenged other powers to expand his huge Mongolian empire, which extended from South China to the Caspian Sea.

In 1277, Khan attacked the West Xia Kingdom (presently Ningxia) and encountered strong resistance. He died of disease and age. He is right. We always have great plans and dreams in our minds… too ready to achieve something grand thatChanges the world or benefits all of mankind .For example; we hate pollution and have made up our minds to find new energy sources that keep the environment clean. Yet we still litter on the ground. We complain about traffic jams, so we plan to build more highways to solve the problem, but it never occurs to us that our failure to follow traffic regulations is the leading cause of this situation. We are so concerned that the violence in the media has a bad impact on our children, we urge the government to set laws to protect them. But, do we, as adults, set a good example for our kids? We use nasty words and even spit on the ground in front of them, I dare to say, we harm more!

In my opinion, before we decide to change the world, we had better change ourselves first. As ordinary individuals, we do not have the power to change the world. But we can change our habit of littering, spitting, cussing, we can respect the environment around us, we must act as good models for our kids.

If each of us does all of these little things, all of us, millions and millions of individuals together, together we will be strong …strong enough to change our world!

So please, the next time you do something, think how your actions influence not only you, but those around you too, especially our children …and perhaps more importantly…our planet!

People travel by plane, by train, by ship, by bus. For me, the best way of traveling on a summer vacation is to go on foot.

And we need enough money, enough time, special channel and also an economical plane, it’s convenient for us. And we can save more time to view the blue sky generally and look out upon the cloud dancing freely outside the plane.

It’s also not bad to travel by train. Enjoy the scenery out of the train on the way, just look around here and there , maybe you can get some new friends in this narrow but long carriage. Certainly you’d better choose the different path when you return back from the place of interest so that you can make your eyes full of the landscape of interest on the way and never need to revisit the once familiar place. How far-flung and galland the rivers and mountains in our homeland are! There are still too many places we can go.

坐火车呢，那也不俗，沿途景致，这边看看那边望望，说不定在车上还能交上朋友呢！当然来回路线最好不要一样，这样可把沿途的山水名胜游个饱，将来也不用再到这一片热土作重游之想了。我们的祖国啊河山辽阔壮丽，要去的地方多着呢。

There is a saying that “You can either travel or read, but either your body or soul must be on the way.” With the improvement of living standards, more and more people have time and money to travel. During traveling, one can meet various people, make new friends and experience various lifestyles of different places.

有句俗话说：“你可以去旅行或者阅读，但是你的身体和灵魂必须在路上。”随着生活水平的提高，越来越多的人们时间和金钱去旅游。在旅游期间，可以见到形形色色的人，交新朋友，在不同地方体验不同的生活方式。

Regarding tour, most of people have great interests in it. It is a human nature that people who come from the dame nature just fall in love into the same.

The modern city, strenuous living, quickly and crowded living space make more and more people try to come to the dame nature with their light packs and travel bags. There is a song which just show peoples the dream of traveling long distance.

Traveling, of course, it’s to get into the physical landscape which can help to give you a good temper, wash away the dust from your soul and make you cheer the nice life.

Advantages of Travel By traveling we can enjoy the beautiful scenery in different places. We will see with our own eyes many places read of in books, and visit some famous cities and scenic spots. We will meet people with different interests and see strange and different things when we travel. We can get ideas of the conditions and customs of other people, taste different foods and special local flavour if we like. In this way, we can understand how differently other people live.

Travel will not only help us to gain knowledge of geography and history and other knowledge, which will arouse our deep love for our motherland, but also will help us keep healthy and make us less narrow-minded. Travel does benefit us both mentally and physically. With all these advantages of travel, it is no wonder that travel has now become more popular .

First of all, travel can widen our knowledge of geography, the knowledge of customs, cultures and lifestyles of different places and countries. Secondly, we can make friends and practice a foreign language through travelling. Finally, travel is the best way of pastime. We can enjoy eating various foods and seeing beautiful sceneries.

The International Childrens Day (ICD) is celebrated in numerous countries, usually (but not always) on June 1 each year.

The ICD had its origin in the World Conference for the Wellbeing of Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925. It is not clear as to why June 1 was chosen as the ICD: one theory has it that the Chinese consul-general in San Francisco (USA) gathered a number of Chinese orphans to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival in 1925, which happened to be on June 1 that year, and also coincided with the conference in Geneva.

June 1 has since been observed as the ICD by numerous countries, especially by Communist countries; in the Western world the ICD is usually celebrated on other days of the year (if at all)， and there is often little public awareness about these celebrations. (See the section on Germany below for further discussions.) Consequently there is sometimes a misperception that June 1 as the ICD was a Communist invention. Nonetheless, in recent years even some groups within the United States started observing the ICD on June 1.

When the election began, I was so nervous that I can hear my heart beating heavily. I tried my best to calm down for a long time. Then I went to the platform to begin my prepared speech. I felt my brain was blank when I was having my speech. Before the election, I was confident for this position, but I still so nervous when I was in the platform. Thanks for preparing in advance; otherwise, I must be embarrassed. But the result was what I want. It s a happy thing.

君子藏器于身，待时而动。成功者，并不是那些嘴上说得天花乱坠的人，也不是那些把一切都设想得极其美妙的人，而是那些脚踏实地去干的人。以前，我只会按老师要求办事，现在，我能独立策划、组织各种活动，经历了一个由不会到会，从不好到好的过程。在虎外就读的两年多以来，我积极地参加各项活动，不断从中吸收经验来提高自己的综合能力。作为虎外的第一届公办班的学生和一名光荣的共青团员，我每天都努力拼搏，在精英荟萃的环境中勇于竞争、敢于竞争、善于竞争，不断奋斗、不断创新更是我一往无前的信念。
