It was one of the last days before Christmas, and the as sistants in the large store had their hands full serving eager Christmas shoppers.

At one counter an old lady was choosing gloves red ones for her daugher in law, light blue ones for her niece, pink ones for her grand daughter, green ones for her sister and by the time she had found what she wanted, the counter was covered with pairs of all colors and sizes.

When the salesgirl had finally written out the bill and was about to turn to the next customer with a tired voice. "Thank you very much, madam," the old lady suddenly cried out, "Oh, I almost forgot..."——"Anything else, madam?" said the girl, "Yes," began the old lady, "Id like to buy another pair, but I m not quite sure about what exactly I should cloose. I wonder if you could help me." "Certainly, madam", was the girls reply. The old lady then went on to explain that what she was looking for was a pair of gloves for a girl of her age. She was not at ail sure what color to choose, and the design was a problem too.

今天是圣诞节.一来到学校,校园里已经充满了欢乐的气氛.学校里喜气洋洋,我们更是兴奋不已.

我一路哼着小曲蹦跳着走进班级.班级里张灯结彩,热情洋溢的感觉立即充满了全身.有同学喊：“快来帮忙呀!”于是我也加入了布置教室的行列……

不一会,教室里也已经灯火辉煌.焕然一新.一位位同学怀着高兴的心情进入教室.

“圣诞快乐!”走进来的老师对我们说:“你们布置的挺积极嘛,咱们的圣诞联欢会开始吧!”“哦!万岁”同学们开心地欢呼着.

圣诞联欢会正式开始了.天上的太阳和云朵都沉静了下来,在倾听我们的圣诞歌.婉转动人的曲调,像叮咚的泉水,倾泻着,倾泻着……我们沉浸在欢乐的气氛里.节目开始表演了.有人表演舞蹈,优美的舞姿让我们深深的折服.有人表演相声,逗得我们捧腹大笑.有人把学期知识总结了一下,出了“学科知识大问答”……同学们各展所长,教室里欢笑声不断.

圣诞节我们最盼望能来圣诞老人.学校的主任办成了圣诞老人.在敲门声中,我们迎来了“圣诞老人”,他怀着我们的期望进了门.一件件小礼物发到同学手中,同学们欢呼声夹杂着圣诞老人爽朗的笑声,欢乐的气氛又一次荡漾开来……

圣诞联欢会结束了.窗外,似乎已是春风阵阵,而我们的教室里更是春意盎然.这欢乐的笑声,将永远留在我们的记忆中.

Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December. It is a very happy day for many boys and girls. Before the term ends in some schools, the children act a nativity or “birth” play, showing how Jesus was born in a stable.

12月25日是圣诞节。对许多男孩和女孩来说，这天是个非常开心的日子。在某些学校，学期结束前，孩子们会表演有关（耶稣）诞生或出生的戏剧，用来（向大家）展示耶稣是如何在马厩里出生的。

On the twenty-fourth of December, all children are very excited. Usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. The younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace, so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. The greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents. Later that night, father or mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed.

在12月24日这天，所有的小孩都很兴奋。他们常常被（父母）早早地赶上床去睡觉，以便他们的父母能准备好礼物。年幼一点的小孩认为圣诞老人将从烟囱或壁炉里下来，所以他们挂起袜子，方便圣诞老人把礼物放进去。有些贪心的人，为了能得到更多的礼物，甚至把枕套或布袋挂起来。晚一些时候，爸爸或妈妈将礼物放进袜子，并把其他礼物放在（孩子们的）床边。

On Christmas morning, the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light at two oclock, and most of them are awake by six oclock, and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. For many people Christmas is a very special time of year. It is a time filled with magic - this is especially true for Children. The gifts and toys, of course, are a big part of it ......

but it is much more than that. Christmas means many different things to different people but in its essence Christmas is about sharing joy and love with those who are dear to you, and then reaching out with that love to the world. May you and your loved ones have a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas is annual festival in western world that is one of the most

important festivals for them. Previously, only westerners or Christians

celebrate it. But in recent years, more and more Chinese people celebrate it,

especially among young people. There are many activities in that day. I think

there are the following reasons that make Christmas popular in China. First,

it’s a western holiday and it’s new to Chinese. Second, with the development of

the world, the mutual influence between China and the west makes it work. Last,

the merchants make great contribution to its popularity.

Today is Christmas Eve once a year. We have three at home. We burn delicious hot pot in the kitchen for mom, dad and I are in the sitting room decorate the Christmas tree together.
