Teachers, hard gardener, all the time for our sake, and you are one of them. You and other teachers, three feet of the podium, a piece of chalk, do not know how much knowledge for us to write down. Chalk foam dyed your hair white, winter to spring, you in this small platform, do not know how many students.

I remember when I was just in junior high school, you led our class to teach us Chinese, but our classs Chinese score was not good, so I was afraid of Chinese class. Every class, I will be a person silently hiding in the corner. A few days later, you spotted me and called me to your office. At this point, the school is over and you are the only one left in the office. You kindly said to me: "my child, learning is an essential part of the way of life. It is by studying that you can acquire knowledge. But knowledge has the power to change everything. You must study if you want to grow up and get out of this backward village. And Chinese, is our mother tongue, is our root. We are all descendants of the Chinese people and should carry forward our mother tongue." I hung my head in shame. "Chinese is an essential part of learning. In fact, Chinese is not difficult to learn, as long as you carefully observe everything around you, usually pay more attention to accumulation, you will improve: you go back to think about it. Say that finish, let me hurry home.

As I trudged out of the office, I looked through the window and saw that you were still correcting our homework. The red marks on the exercise book all show your diligence and hard work. Since then, I will study hard Chinese, carefully observe the things around me, listen carefully in class. When you saw this, you finally smiled. This smile, like the sun, warms me and makes me work harder.

You are no longer teaching me, but you have taught me the most profound lesson. I will never forget you. I will never forget your back as you corrected your homework under the light. I will never forget the time when we studied together, the help you gave me.

Teacher, it is you who taught me Thanksgiving and taught me knowledge. I will always grow up with a grateful heart.

Most westerners always celebrate Christmas Day as their major festival, in

order to memorialize Jesus. During that time, they always have several days off,

so they can enjoy this festival with all their hearts. The children often get

together with their friends. The adults are busy with decorating their houses.

They also send the postcards with their best wishes to each other. In the

streets, there are so many Fathers Christmas sending presents to the passers-by.

And everything is on a discount in the supermarkets. Thus the supermarkets are

the busiest places.

In the evening, the families usually have pudding, sandwiches, apple pies

and some other desserts for dinner. After supper, the families always sing and

dance around the Christmas tree. Sometimes, they also go to church. Before going

to bed, the children often hang up their stockings beside their bed, so that

Father Christmas will fill them with presents. It is said that Father Christmas

always drives a deer to the human world and entering into each house from the

chimney. Now the children no longer believe in Father Christmas, but they still

hang up their stockings, because their parents will fill them with presents.

The first mention of decorated trees being taken indoors came in 1605 in Germany - a country with a long Christmas tree history! The trees were initially decorated with fruit and sweets together with hand made objects such as quilled snowflakes and stars. German Christmas Markets began to sell shaped gingerbreads and wax ornaments which people bought as souvenirs of the fair and took home to hang on their tree.

Tinsel was also invented in Germany in about 1610. Up until fairly recently real silver was used, which was pulled into wafer thin strips by special machines. This was durable but tarnished quickly and mmany experiments took plaace to try and find an alternative - including a mix of lead and tin, which was too heavy and kept breaking. It was only in the mid 20th century that a viable alternative was found.

Artificial trees were invented in the 1880s in a bid to try and stop some of the damage being caused to real trees due to people lopping the tip off large trees, thus preventing the trees from growing any further. It got so bad in Germany that laws had to be brought in to prevent people having more than one tree.
