Thank you very much for your concern. Last month several places in Beijing were blanketed(覆盖)with thick yellow fog. Everything around disappeared from our sight. Some highways were closed. Traffic jams were commonly seen in the streets. Many people, especially children and se{C}{C}

{C}niors, even found it difficult to breathe. As a result, local hospitals were crowded with people who had problems with their noses and lungs. Part of the cause was the dry weather, but the severely damaged environment contributed a lot to this nightmare. Personally I didn’t get any health problems in the haze because I stayed mostly indoors. But to make a significant change we really have to do more to protect our environment. To live a bette{C}{C}

“环保”是一个常见的、热门的，人人有感觉的话题，可是，你有没有问过自己，你离环保有多远？

地球是有两颗行星撞击所产生的一颗星球，它经过了几亿年的地壳运动才形成的一颗美丽的星球。本来，地球可以将这种状态持续几亿年，但是，因为人类的出现，地球已经伤痕累累。从古时候开始人们就大肆砍伐树木，到了现在人们砍木头去卖，用火烧树桩做肥料，等土地失去肥力，那片土地就已荒废告终。以前的海面清澈无比，现在的海面全是塑料、牙刷、玻璃……动物们分不清什么是垃圾，什么是食物，许多海鸥因吞食垃圾逝去，数据表明，世界上胃里垃圾最多的鸟是一只幼鸟，它的胃里有多达365片垃圾碎片。还有一些海龟因为被塑料卡住了气管，最后因窒息而死。还有一种污染会导致生物灭绝，在英国一个海边的一个城市，它们经常吃一些食底泥动物，导致那一片食底泥动物的灭绝，本来人们认为没有什么。过了两年，那儿的海藻泛滥成灾，污染了地下水，让他们被迫移民了。

为了不让这种悲剧发生在我们身上，我们一定要提倡环保，不仅要提倡环保，我们还要保护大气层，减少大气污染，保护地球的生态环境，让它更好地造福于我们的子孙后代吧！
