“文革”后期，我爱人被下放到干校，我因为工作忙，没法带两个孩子，就把老母亲接到北京来。1969年国庆节前，北京要清理外来人员。一天晚上，红卫兵来我家查出身，我老老实实地写上了“地主”。第二天我上班后，红卫兵就来把我母亲抓走了。我下班回到家，发现两个孩子正由邻居照顾，怎么也找不到老太太被关在什么地方。最后，不得不找领导把老太太领了回来。但回来后怎么办呢?北京是呆不下去了，我只好让老太太带两个孩子连夜回老家。想到一个没独自出过门的60多岁的老太太，带着一个刚上一年级、另一个还在上幼儿园的小孩，晚上还要去赶火车，当时心里特别难受，眼泪忍不住就流了下来。但是刚把“一老二小”送走，我马上又回到了工作岗位，继续投入到“东方红1号”的研制中来。我相信，党和人民终究会理解我受的一切委屈，而我一定要把自己的工作做好，因为这是我的责任，也是我的使命。
