Traditions for this festival: as the name indicates, hanging and looking at lanterns is the main tradition.

Lanterns of various shapes and sizes are displayed on trees, or along river banks.

Parents often take their children to Lantern Fairs and sometimes lucky kids even get a mini toy lantern.

Another tradition is guessing lantern riddles. These are riddles that are hung on lanterns for people to shoot down and solve. The riddles are usually short, wise, and sometimes humorous.

The answer to a riddle can be a Chinese character, a famous persons name, a place name or a proverb. This tradition has become a popular game with serious staying power even as social development changes other traditions.

Other than that, the most important thing to do today is to eat sweet dumplings. In northern China, sweet dumplings made of glutinous rice flour are called “元宵” while in southern part they are called “汤圆”.

Typical sweet dumplings are filled with black sesame sauce, sweetened bean paste, or hawthorn. Making “元宵” today is like a game or an activity, so its seldom done without a reason and a group of friends or family present to help out.

记忆中的秋天总是寒冷的。

一场场秋雨总让人的心情随着那一团团厚重的乌云以及总是灰蒙蒙的天空一起变得烦躁与压抑，虽没有“连月不开”，但“淫雨霏霏”便可以确切地描述了。

一日返家途中，耳朵挤入了某商场开业入驻时的宣传，音响里的杂乱不断涌出，本来热闹的街市，在这片沉闷的灰色中也变得喧闹，令人烦躁。偏偏这时，又下起了小雨，原本湿冷的空气又多了些水分。我皱着眉头，一脸不悦地拖着行李箱，却在不经意间看到了四名警卫。也许叫巡逻警卫更合适吧，它们无视眼前的繁华，无心关注扩音器中的内容，台上的主持人讲得不亦乐乎，观众全身贯注地听。年轻的女子悠闲地走进商店，一群人有说有笑。但这四人的步伐坚定如初，眼中的锐利目光自始至终从未改变，在这一切繁华热闹的背后，有他们不辞辛劳地守护这份和平与安宁。在这个国家繁荣昌盛的背后，更有他们在不懈地坚守岗位，守护国家与人民的安全。而我们，被华丽包裹，似乎从未看到，似乎也从不知感激，似乎觉得如今的幸福与和平是理所当然。

Tomorrow is March 8th. It is Womens Day, so I want to give my mother a surprise. First I am going to the supermarket and buy something , such as vegetables , fruits and some beautiful flowers. Then I will come back home to clean the house and do some cooking. When Mum comes back from work, she will be really excited. She will say that I am a nice boy and have grown up. 树叶泛黄，摔落，一场雨从天而降——题记

我们这秋天虽来，叶却未央，五点半，房外是细丝连绵，不停从空掉落，仿佛在警告我们秋天已过半，黑夜朦胧的由夜入晴，打着伞去学校，雨寂静地打落在伞上，如这寂静环境一般，有时我觉得安静挺好，因为安静能让我更沉入的思考一些事，重拼事件的碎片列车开过，从心外拉回魂，自吟一句：“秋叶微黄寒风擞，不知何辰飘绵丝。”

雨稍大了，一人独自走在荒凉的大街上，我何曾心里如此复杂。或许是因为到了期中了吧，要考试了吧，要期末了吧。雨下大了点，我并没有注意，陷入更深的回忆漩涡，在回忆起来想不起那时在想什么了，只记路边一个早餐店在准备早饭。我想，这场雨或许越往后、会越大。到了期中，那雨会变成暴雨吧。

同桌对我说：“我”“什么？”我问，“你什么？”“我有点想睡觉，你打我一下。”我便用下，让他不会那么犯困，老师兴致勃勃的讲着他的课，或许同学们魂早已飞出教室，或许老师已讲到忘我的境界，或许一一是秋天的思绪太过杂乱了，人无法从心入学了吧，是思绪沉重了吧，忘有那么点事萦绕耳畔，就像鲁迅说过的“能留在记忆上，还有旧来的意味留存。也许我也应该学一学鲁迅，细细的看看曾经褪去的记忆叶子的纹理，重新长回来。学校的叶子黄了些，透露了些秋天的气息了，秋天却走完了半程，也就到了期中了。这意味着：有过去一年，又过去了三百六十五天，失去了本该有的，可能得了些不该有的。

一年过去，秋天唯独那么沉思，思绪那么重呢？树叶黄起来了，开始掉落了，又接着，场雨斜斜密密的交织着从空飘落，这片泛黄的地……

Victor Hugo was good at combatting the characteristics and he did pay attention to the struggle between classes. In The Miserable World, the famous book in the world, he describes the changges of the main character, Jean Valjean, from a common human being to devil and then to a lovely angel. He expects that the human has good characters in the society. In the book, he also tells the readers the various aspects in the really world. He hopes that people have good manners and noble moral.

The Miserable World is a novel which reflects the miserable life and the misfortunate of the poor guys in France when it is the middle of nineteen century. The name of the book indicates the suffering from the great difficulities. The book put emphsis on the tradegy and the position of the low classes and this is the most exciting and important aspect, which makes the readers have deep thinking about the life.

In the details of the book, we know the men are upset because they were in the low class and were having a poor life, women’ behavior deviates from what is acceptable especially in sexual behavior because of starving and children are so weak that they can grow strong and keep healthy in the old days of the world. So the author, Victor Hugo, hoped that all the people could have a bright future and have a good life, and the the famous work came into being. We know that the autho, Victor Hugo, had a boarder sense. He thought because if the world continued to stay as it was, the world could come to an end. The great artist were very brave to fight against the old displines. This novel is of great value because it describes history and reality in the past. We, people in modern society, should learn something from it and try to make the world perfect and harmony.

Hot-cross buns are popular foods on Good Friday.These are sweet fruit buns with crosses on top.Some people still make these with yeast,but shops now sell dozens in the week before Easter.
