一、英语写作的特点.

The characteristics of formal writing

1.名词化趋势

I do not eat much.-->I am a light eater.

The clock on the desk reminds me of time.-->I put a clock on the desk as a reminder of time.

We once cried, laughed and disappointed.-->There were moments of tears, moments of laughter, and moments of disappointment.

注意:名词化趋势的句子当然还有动词, 目的是尽量把表达句子中心意思的那个词汇用名词表达.符合英文的习惯.

2.无灵主语(区别于被动语态)

我们中文写作中,习惯以人做主语,而英文则相反,习惯以物做主格.

More and more young students studied further in the past two decades.

-->The past two decades witnessed a growing number of young students for further study.

Looking out of the window, you will have a nice view.

-->A glance out of the window offers you a nice view.

注意: 名词化趋势和无灵主语常常是相结合的.

3.被动语态

这一点大家比较熟悉,不详细讲.比如:

二、句式的写作:

Main features of English sentences:

1.长短句结合

Love is patient and kind. It is never jealous, boastful, proud or rude. It keeps no record of wrong that others do. It always protects, always fruits, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

一般来讲,总结性的句子应当使用短句,而说理的句子应用长句.

2.并列复合句

这种句子属于十分难写的句子,也举一个例子:

He who wants to save his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for me will save it.

3.单一复合句

也就是我们常说的各种从句,不再举例.

三、Variety of sentences:

1. ”-ing & -ed” groups

e.g.

5.主语从句

e.g.

句子的变化还有 It is self-evident(adj) that…….和There be 这样的句子

6.倒装

(1)将一些否定性含义的副词和短语在句首,用倒装会使句子生色不少.

Never before has such a high standard been achieved.

Hardly had he arrived when she started complaining.

(2)为使描绘更加生动,与介词同形的副词可以移动到句首,而把主语放到谓语后面去.

Following the roar, out rushed a tiger from the bushes.

In came a pretty girl he had never seen before.

四、插入语

插入语可以是一个小词,也可以是一个同谓语的形式.

1.先看一个小技巧：(对there be 句型均有效)

There is, recently, a debate amongst educators that……

通俗的讲,在老外眼里,主语与谓语离的越远,句子的档次越高.

2.插入语后面再接上一个定语从句;

Direct experience, a necessary means to recognize the world, which differs from knowledge acquired from books, is a major step to the cognitive world.

雨水噼哩啪啦打在屋顶，还没来得凝成水珠，已从房檐滑落。

大家都放学了，而小H站在走廊湿滑的大理石地板上，望着撑着伞慢慢走出校门的。

他的些遗憾地摸了摸脑袋。早晨上学前，母亲递给他一把伞，说晚些时候可能有雨。他却嫌沉重一把推开，指着那时还晴朗的天空嘲笑她多心。

现在好了，不听老人言，就是吃亏了。

大雨哗哗下。教学楼旁那棵矮树的叶子，被秋风吹得枯黄，吹得摇摇欲坠。这场大雨，直接将它们尽数打落在地。小H不禁想起自家楼下的那一棵满树金黄的桂花树，经了这场雨，不知会是什么凄凉的样子。

Recently, I read a great book,Childhood,which is written byGorky. 大自然是地球上每个生命共同的朋友，而水是生命之源。每个人都不希望自己生活在一片干枯的沙漠中，那么大自然因何而生?水又因何而起?

这便要说起我们熟知的雨。

正值秋天，雨水较多。最近一阵又一阵连绵的秋雨从天而降，它穿过大气层，最终降至地面。期间它落在屋顶上，又从屋顶滑落在高耸的参天大树的叶子上，又给稍微枯竭的树枝带来一线生机。

它似乎并不满足所带来的一点点生机，顽皮的从树叶滑落到另一棵树上，顺着树枝、树叶滑下来。突然间它看到美丽的花朵，便又兴奋的滑过去，落在花瓣上、花蕊上。等它玩够了，又不厌其烦的从花上滑到小树上，这时它已经跑了好远，但它还想再做一些事。不远处有一片刚从土里钻出来的小苗儿们。他便高高兴兴的跑过去，从这棵小苗踩过，又从另一棵小苗踏过，自娱自乐。

许久后它终于玩累了，从小苗芽身上滑到了地上，再慢慢流向低处的溪水里，成为了溪水中的一部分。在那里它遇到许多同伴，它兴高采烈的说自己做了什么。大家争相议论了起来，成千上万滴水滴议论着、争吵着，最终“哗啦哗啦”流过。

雨后天晴，却没有彩虹在天边照一道亮丽的风景线，但有郁郁葱葱的大自然。参天大树因雨使得其枝恢复一些生机，它由此感谢雨的馈赠;花朵因雨而使得其瓣泽润，它由此感谢雨的恩惠;小苗芽们因雨而使得其根吸收水分，健康成长，它们由此感谢雨的润泽。

不仅它们，还有动物、土壤和人类，土壤因雨而焕然一新，动物和人类因雨而得以生存自然而然，生命才是最美的风景，而雨便必不可缺。因而，雨是地球上最亮丽的一道风景线。

大自然因水而生，水又因雨而起，雨不仅是生命之源，更是润万物之泽。

My name is azuowen.Im a 15 years old girl. I live in the beautiful city of Rizhao.

早晨，一起床，就听见雨在淅淅的下，一个雨天。

吃完早餐后，走出家门，一阵阵凉风迎面吹来。这时，雨好像下小了一点，风娃好似不情愿，开始往上吹，好像是在催促雨姐姐快快降雨！过了一会儿，雨姐姐开始配合风娃使劲降雨。

这时，听到：“啊——！呀——呀！”的声音，可能是他们没有带雨伞，被淋成了落汤鸡吧。

进了校园，只见门口的几棵夏天可以乘凉的大树，上面的叶子掉了很多，没有几千片，也有个几百片了，这些叶子大多数是红绿黄相间叶片。我弯下腰，从地上随手拾起一片叶子，这片叶子明显掉下来很长时间了，叶子的边缘被人踩掉，没掉的边已经成黑色的了！我又拾起一片花瓣，它的颜色是粉色的，粉中带黑，黑中带黄，黄中又带白色，这说明着秋天真的要到来了！

课堂上，同学们安静的上课，能听到的也只有一声比一声，一阵比一阵大的雨声，风也越刮越大了！夏天，教室十分的炎热，而现在，凉风习习，十分享受。

中午时，太阳好像忙着从乌云中闪出来。这时，风小了，我本以为天变晴，可是，过了一会儿后，不仅太阳被遮住了，而且风更大更猛了。

晚上，放学了，来到车上，雨滴敲打着车窗。我心想：雨什么时候才停啊？

深秋了，秋雨还是没有来，让我有些焦急。

清晨。很早起来推开门，一阵风刮来，毕竟是深秋了，还是有些冷，不禁打了个哆嗦，天空上依旧叠着层层铅云，好像今天的风格外冷，不得不把衣领竖起。

走在田埂上，望着一片片的水稻田，天上的暗云映在水稻田里，让一切变得更无精打采了，死气沉沉的，只是不时的细听到农家鹅的叫声，忽然，水稻田里散出了小小的涟漪，接着又荡出了多处，个个涟漪互相碰撞着，碰到水稻又重新荡回来。呵，刚才还是死气沉沉的，马上就活跃起来了，水稻碰着水稻叶，发出“唦唦”的响声，涟漪相互碰撞发出细小的乐律，一眼望去，漫地的水稻东摇西摆，好不快活，涟漪变大了，“唦唦”声更响了，抬起头望去，哈，原来是下雨了。

慢慢的，雨滴在水稻上，水稻们似乎无法控制自己的情绪了，疯狂的摇动起来，稻田里的水更是“放肆”。一波一波的荡在田埂上，再一圈圈的回去，像是一群快乐的舞者们在晶莹的水做的毯上任意舞动。雨越下越。下落的雨滴象是华丽宫殿中的点缀，尊贵的舞者们在没有空间限制的广阔宫殿中尽情的起舞。多想让雨在空中能停留片刻，好让我也加入他们的舞会。还是让雨尽情的下吧，我无权加入他们的舞会，他们多么自由，快乐呀，可我呢？

走吧，离开吧，不要打扰他们了，让他们尽情的跳吧！伴着深秋的第一次雨，狂欢吧。我想，我会很安静的。
