The sun was shining really brightly. We could hear the birds singing outside the window. It was a fine day！

I went to the City Wildlife Park with my classmates by bus. We arrived there at 8:00. When I got out of the bus, some of us had rushed into the gate of the park. First, we visited the golden monkeys. They were lovely and cute. They jumped from this tree to another tree which was about two meters away. That was amazing, wasn’t it? And then we watched an animal show. They danced like humans. They could do everything we asked them to do. After that we visited safari park. All kinds of animals could be seen there, such as tigers, lions, deer and goats. I loved lions best, because they were the king of the forest, they are so powerful. I wished I could be strong just like them !

How lovely they were! They were my friends! They could smile and cry just like human beings. We should regard them as our friends, and we should not hurt them , instead, we should protect them! They need our help!

今年四月到六月，我参加了20xx年“希望之星”英语风采大赛。这可是全国性的比赛哦！必须要闯过海选、市赛和省赛三关，才能去北京参加中央电视台的总决赛。

参加市赛的早上，我和妈妈坐车到了目的地。当时，太阳特别大，天特别热，而且人山人海。我们到了之后赶紧报到，接着就排队去比赛了。因为我是最后一个，等了好久才轮到我，裁判先让我抽图，准备看图说话，再自我介绍。我觉得自己前两个环节表现得挺好的，最后是回答问题，这个环节有点难，四个题中我只答出两个。紧接着裁判宣布结果，我心想：肯定有我！肯定有我！结果，真的有我！我拿了市赛一等奖，进入了省赛。

省赛的准备过程是非常艰难的，又是背台词，又是准备自我介绍，还有模拟考试。仅仅是看图说话环节，一训练就是一上午……

终于迎来了省赛。我怀着紧张的心情走进赛场，里面很安静，选手们都在努力地背词，我也不甘示弱。自我介绍环节，我们都做得非常好，看图说话环节就比较惨了，得知成绩后，我的心情非常低落，爸爸妈妈安慰我，要我别泄气，要我在下午最后一个环节加油，还特意给我复习了几遍演讲内容，我的心情又明朗起来。下午的比赛开始了，轮到我上场了，我站在台上，信心十足地完成了演讲，最后的分数还不错哦！

我的20xx年“希望之星”英语风采大赛结束了，虽然我没有踏上国赛舞台，但是我虽败犹荣！这个过程中，我见识到了那些高手们的厉害！我一定要好好学习英语！我一定会回来的！明年再战！

We’ve been busy working in the past three years. The summer holiday is coming and I want to do something interesting and relaxing.

第二天，妈妈放弃了上班的时间，又在家里帮助我，并说了好多妈妈小时候考到那么多100分的事情，都是想让我能考到好的成绩。我什么题不会做，或不会写，妈妈就像跟踪器一样发现，然后教我。如果她也不会的她也会一个个的问别人，直到让我弄清楚为止。如果我不认真的做题目，她也不会骂我，而是告诉我道理!就这样，一天天过去了，我迎来了最后一个复习日，这一天，我也十分劳累，但是妈妈没有一点让我放松的意思，我只好等到了那一天，我心想我一定要考好!

考试时，我发现了这些题目大部分都是写过的，我这才知道妈妈的辛劳和汗水。

考试卷发下来了，我考了98分，我不敢相信，我原来一般只考87分左右，居然一下子提升了这么多!

我想：这张卷子，就到感恩节时送给妈妈做礼物吧!

I am xxx. I was born in Changsha. I graduate from senior high school and major in English. I started learning English since I was 12 years old. My parents have a lot of American friends. That’s why I have no problem communicating with Americans or others by speaking English.

In my spare time, I like to do anything relating to English such as listening to English songs, watching English movies or TV programs, or even attending the activities held by some English clubs or institutes. Today, I go to school with a headache. At the beginning, it is just a slightly pain. Nevertheless, it is not until the English lesson that my head pains heavily. So it is difficult for me to take notes. Luckily, my English teacher notices it so she takes me to the office. With a big smile on her face and caring words, she gives me a glass of water. To my surprise, she offers to help me notes. It is her love that warms me up. At that moment, I whisper myself that I will do my utmost to help others as kind as my English teacher.

今天我去学校的时候头很痛。一开始，只是轻微的疼痛。然而，在上英语课的时候我的变得很痛。所以记笔记对我来说变得很困难。幸运的是，我的英语老师发现了，并把我带到了办公室。她脸上挂着微笑并说着一些关心的话，递给我一杯水。使我吃惊的是，她提出要帮我记笔记。是她的爱温暖了我。在那一刻，我轻声对自己说，我会像我的英语老师一样尽我最大的努力去帮助别人。

为提高孩子们英语水平，检验近期英语学习情况，进一步培养学生的英语综合运用能力，营造英语文化氛围，7月28日，山东理工大学“红色之旅”实践团于菏泽市牡丹区赵楼社区支教基地举行英语作文比赛。

此次比赛本着“人人参与”的原则，在初中三个年级中进行。以《My holidy》（我的假期）为题，学生们现场发挥，在30分钟的时间内写出一篇100词作文。比赛过程中，参赛选手胸有成竹，屏气凝神，严格遵守比赛规则，表现出优秀的参赛风格。全部同学在规定时间内完成，甚至有几位同学提前做完，显示出同学们对英语的有效掌握。学生作文水平虽显稚嫩，但从单词、句子的运用，到语法篇章的安排，都显示出了英语教学有了明显的进步，这是同学们勤学英语的结果，也是每位实践队员辛勤教学的结果。最终，赵芳同学脱颖而出荣获一等奖，刘涵、赵紫、赵伟等分获二、三等奖，队员们为其颁发奖状、奖品，以资鼓励。赛后，实践团将同学们的作品在橱窗中展示，以供大家交流学习。同学们表示今后一定再接再厉，学好英语。队员们鼓励大家在日常生活中也要勤学勤用，在实践中探索英语的奥秘。

此次比赛有力调动起同学们学习英语的积极性，提高了对英语的实用能力，提高了学生英语读写能力。据悉，此类活动还将继续开展，为学生创设运用英语写作展示的平台。

诗人屈原在年幼时就有悲天悯人的情怀，那时的屈原，在大人眼里也许还是个孩子，但实际上他却比同龄人早熟。当时正逢年饥荒，屈原家乡的百姓们吃不饱、穿不暖，时有沿街乞讨、啃树皮、食埃土者，年少的屈原看见这一切，不禁伤心落泪，他发誓要为这些人做点什么来缓解他们的痛苦。

一天，屈原家门前的大石缝里突然流出了雪白的大米，百姓们见状，纷纷拿来碗瓢、布袋接米，将米背回了家。不久，屈原的父亲便发现家中粮仓中的大米越来越少，他很奇怪，便留意观察，看是否有人偷米。有一天夜里，他发现屈原正从粮仓里往外背米，便将屈原叫住，一问才知道原来是屈原把家里的米灌进石缝里，乡亲们知道了真相都很感动，夸赞屈原。父亲没有责备屈原，只是对他说：“咱家的米救不了多少穷人，如果你长大后做官，把国家管理好，天下的穷人不就有饭吃了吗？”

父亲的话激励了屈原，自此他勤奋治学，长大后学有所成，楚王得知他有才能，便召他为官，让他管理国家大事。屈原为国为民，尽心尽力。为后世之人称颂，真正做到了由小善转为大善的境界。

这个故事告诉我们：慈济世间仁心有自，善行天下大道无垠。

北京一中学生患了严重肾病，需要换肾，可是孩子的父母都是工薪阶层，无力承担高昂的手术费。消息传到学校，同学、老师纷纷解囊相助。孩子父亲的同事得知此事，也纷纷捐款。有的人甚至把自己当月工资全部捐献出来，这事经《北京晚报》报道后，引起了更多人的关注和参与，大家都有一个心愿，那就是这位中学生的病能尽快得到医治。

是啊！我相信，只要人人都献出一点爱，世界将变成美好的人间，奉献你的爱心吧！不需要多少时间，也无需太大的精力，赶快行动起来！

刚才的两个故事是我在《慈善读本》上看到的。这本书告诉了我们一定要有爱心，我认为这是一本很好的书，使我受到了很大的感悟和启发，如：儒家教育思想对后世的影响巨大。《论语》中“仁”、“礼”作为核心。《慈善读本》意在探索青少年慈善教育的内容、方法和途径。培养我们青少年的慈善意识和社会责任感，所产生的积极影响，有利促进我们树立正确的人生观、价值观。这本书中的内容对于我们一生有很大的影响。希望身边的同学也要多多学习。
