But about 97% of this huge amount is sea water, or salt water. Man can only drink and use the other 3% -- the fresh water that comes from rivers, lakes,underground, and other sources. And we cannot even use all of that, because some of it is in the form of icebergs and glaciers. Even worse, some of it has been polluted.

From this, it is apparent that drastic steps must be taken immediately to develop corrective measures for the pollution problems.

There are two ways by which these pollution problems can be lessened. The first relates to the treatment of wastes to decrease their pollution hazard. This involves the processing of solid wastes "prior to" disposal and the treatment of liquid wastes to permit the reuse to the water or best reduce pollution upon final disposal. The second approach is to develop an economic use for all or part of the wastes. Farm manure is spread in fields as a nutrient. Wastes from sewage disposal plants are used in some areas both for irrigation and for the nutrients contained. Liquid wastes from other processing plants may also be used as a supplemental source of water. Only by doing these promptly now can we expect to solve the serious water problems in the future.

Now every day in newspapers and on television speaks the message of environmental protection, can be seen that the environment is very important to everyone.

Our upstream of the Yangtze river and Yellow River in recent years people cut down trees, not to protect the environment, make the Yangtze river and Yellow River upstream of the water and soil loss is very severe, Yangtze river flood, often have a lot of sediment in the Yellow River water. We in xinjiang tarim river is the longest continental river in China, the tarim river shore in iminqak is can be used to absorb dirt wont appear sandstorm, but people in the upstream of tarim river large area of forest cut water makes the river downstream dry, killing millions of acres of iminqak. 环境是我们人类赖以生存的活动空间，比如说：空气的质量、工地和汽车发出的噪音、水质的好坏、街道的整洁和城市的美观等等都属于环境.现在每天在电视和报纸上都可以看见讲环保的消息，说明大家都很重视环境。

这几年我们的长江、黄河上游的人们砍伐树木，不保护环境，使得长江、黄河上游的水和土壤流失的很厉害，长江下游经常发洪水，黄河的水里有好多泥沙。我们新疆的塔里木河是我国最长的内陆河，塔里木河岸边的胡杨林是可以用来吸住泥土不会出现沙尘暴，可是人们在塔里木河的上游大面积开荒截水使得下游河水干枯，造成上百万亩的胡杨林死亡。至使本来就很贫瘠的土地，更加沙漠化。我们乌鲁木齐的人家做饭、取暖的烟囱冒出来的黑烟和汽车尾气的大量排放使的空气被污染。使乌鲁木齐的冬天看不到蓝天，雪也是黑的。

我在电视看见韩国的饭店用的筷子都是金属做的，可以反复用。可是在我们国家大大小小的饭店全是用的一次性筷子，据我了解一棵生长五十年的桦树只够十家饭店一天用的筷子的数量，中国有多少家饭店?一天要用多少棵桦树啊!!

对于我们校学生来讲要保护环境，首先要从不要乱人垃圾果皮纸屑，见到有人乱扔垃圾要给他讲道理。大人们也不要砍伐树木，这样会污染环境。要从节约每一滴水、每一度电做起、从小树立保护环境的意识，做到保护环境，人人有责。使我们的家园更美好!

1、要有惜水意识，爱惜水是节水的基础，只有意识到“节约水光荣，浪费水可耻”，才能时时处处注意节水。

2、养成好习惯，据分析，家庭只要注意改掉不良的习惯，就能节水70%左右。

3、使用节水器具;

4、查漏塞流。

就生产而言，特别对一些高消耗水的行业，我们要围绕如何优化水系统的运行，如何提高循环水的浓缩倍数，如何提高水资源的循环利用等作为节水工作的重点，积极组织技术攻关，提高水的综合利用率;同时制定切实可行的操作制度，对产品水消耗实行定额管理，并作为一项技术经济指标进行考核，减少浪费现象。

We live the earth is very fragile, the earths natural resources is limited, if we protect the environment and the earth from now on, we live the earth will become more beautiful!

Protecting environment starts from me from the us side of small start!

To protect the environment is to protect the earth or indirectly protect us humans, if the environment is destroyed, then to the survival of our homes is likely to be swallowed up by the desert!

我们生活的地球是很脆弱的，地球上的自然资源也是有限的，如果我们从现在开始保护环境和地球的话，我们生活的地球一定会变的更美好!

保护环境从我做起从我们大家身边的小事做起吧!

保护环境就是保护地球还是间接的保护我们人类自己，如果环境被破坏的话，那么我们赖以生存的家园就很有可能被沙漠吞噬 !

我在这里向全世界的人们呼吁 保护环境人人有责 ! 如果我们还在这样的破坏环境的话，我们的家园即将遭到崩溃 。 那时我们便没有去处了， 保护环境人人有责 ， 从小事开始作起吧，

如我们不乱扔垃圾， 随地吐痰等。

保护环境人人有责!
