Sports lovers here always look forward to the month of August or September because of the Inter School Sports-meeting.These occasions used to be very colorful and attractive.Just like the previous years,this year’s sports-meeting was enjoyable.

It was held in the Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh city.The stadium was cheerfully decorated for that purpose.The bitumen tracks were neatly marked with white paint.The sports officials were in their official badges and the whole day they were busy with preparations.At about 2 p.m.that day,there was a march past by athletes in their respective school colors and flags.The chief Education Officer took the salute.With the singing of the Nation Anthem and the hoisting of the National Flag,he declared the meeting open.

There were many interesting events.There were also separate events for boys and girls.The competitors were tense and serious.They were in excellent physical fitness.Some new records were set in the 100,200 and 400 meter races.The hurdles and relays were some of the interesting track events.The girls’ events added some color and mirth to the spectators.Of the girls’ items,the tug-of-war was a never ending source of merriment.Throughout the events,our school band was in attendance.

The mini knitted garments have helped save hundreds of flightless birds caught in oil spills providing protection from the elements and stopping them from ingesting poisonous pollution.

Knits for Nature a program run by The Penguin Foundation which conserves the little penguin population of Phillip Island 140km south-east of Melbourne has created up to 300 different designs over the years - and its all thanks to talented volunteers.

‘There’s a lot of hidden creativity out there said Lyn Blom of the Phillip Island Nature Park.

People love to know that they’re helping the penguins because they’re so cute and small and they waddle up the beach and they’re so feisty. But they need to be they live in a pretty tough sort of environment.’

A thumbnail-sized patch of oil can kill little penguins the smallest of the species measuring just 13 inches (33cm) and weighing 2.2lbs (1kg). The oil separates and mats their feathers breaking natural waterproofing and heating functions.

Ms Blom estimates she has knitted between 200 and 300 penguin jumpers over the years including ones in the colours of every Australian Rules football team in the country.

A staff member read an article in an English women’s magazine about knitting for guillemot birds and decided to adapt the designs.

‘There’s an awful lot of ladies out there who used to knit for their children and grandchildren. These ladies have spare wool and idle hands and they love to feel loved and needed and we love and need them’ said Ms Blom.

The Penguin Foundation recently staged a competition for the most creative jumper which received an enthusiastic response.

The Penguin Foundation rescues approximately 20 birds a year. They even have a stockpile of jumpers in case of emergency - such as the large oil spill near Phillip Island in 2001.

The knowledge from the book attracts me so much. Every time I search the knowledge there, I feel very satisfied,excited and powerful. I like exploiting all knowledge. I don’t need anyone topush me to study. I just like it.

In my eye, my father is so adorable, because he can give me advices and help me to make the best decision. My father experienced a lot. When he graduated from college, his first job was to work in the office, then he found life was boring to sit in the office all the day, so he decided to quit and then started his trip to many places. My father had been traveled to many places, he opened his vision and then went back home to find another job he liked. When he met my mother, he thought it was time to settle down. I was so interested in his life experience, I couldn’t help thinking what if I go with him. I must will meet many new persons and then see the beautiful scenery. After school, I often play basketball with my friends. I am the tallest boy in my class, so I play as center. Playing basketball is not only good for our health, but also helping us to make friends.
