+ 加入清单Dear friends:
If you can dream it, you can do it.——Walt Disney
It was a long four years. Even after I had actually graduated, the
nightmares began to haunt me, the university would call to say I hadn’t truly
graduated. There had been a mistake and there was just one more class I needed
to take. I was always so relieved to wake up and realize that it had only been a
bad dream. In reality, I had completed every course needed for my degree, and I
was a full-fledged college graduate!
Now, the rest of my life loomed ahead of me. Sometimes a bachelor’s degree
prepares you for a specific occupation——you train to be an accountant, you
graduate and get a position in an accounting firm. Often, however, your stint in
college only prepares you to make further decisions regarding your future.
You’re pretty sure what you don’t want to do!
During my senior year of college, I had toyed with the idea of changing my
major. At that point, I had finally discovered what captured my heart. But,
wanting to finally be finishing school was a stronger pull. So, I took a few
courses in physiology and exercise science, but not enough to receive a degree
in physical therapy. That would require advanced schooling, beyond my bachelor’s
degree——and I just wasn’tready to tackle that. Having completed my B.C. degree,
I didn’t have any intentions of furthering my education.
So, I did the safe thing and got an office job——the very thing I was sure
that I didn’t want to do! I detested the office policies, the suits I had to
wear and the downtown environment that I had to drive to every day. I knew this
was not where I belonged.
But god knew what path my career was to follow. A position opened up at the
most exclusive health club in our city, so I applied. This was my kind of
environment——an active, vibrant kind of place——completely at the opposite end of
the spectrum from the office environment where I found myself. The position
required that I work Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. Perfect, I thought! I
could keep my office job Monday through Friday and work at my dream job on the
weekends. This arrangement lasted several months until, eventually, a full-time
position opened up and I was able to resign from my office job.
Over the next few years, I worked my way up the leader, gaining experience
in several different departments. I found my niche as the director of member
services——catering to our clientele and providing them with numerous
cutting-edge programs. I would have stayed at that job forever——it seemed to be
the pinnacle of all my dreams fulfilled. Here were fellow employees who had a
passion for the same things that I did——health and fitness. Yet again, god had
other plans for my life.Within two years, a newer, bigger, better and more
state-of-the-art health club facility was built——just five miles down the road.
And, in turn, the owner lost many members to that club. And, in turn, the owner
lost thousands of dollars. One by one we were each laid off.
After trying unsuccessfully to land another similar position elsewhere, I
knew what I had to do. Go back to school!thanks!

+ 加入清单The International Childrens Day (ICD) is celebrated in numerous countries,
usually (but not always) on June 1 each year.
The ICD had its origin in the World Conference for the Wellbeing of
Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925. It is not clear as to why June 1 was
chosen as the ICD: one theory has it that the Chinese consul-general in San
Francisco (USA) gathered a number of Chinese orphans to celebrate the Dragon
Boat Festival in 1925, which happened to be on June 1 that year, and also
coincided with the conference in Geneva.
June 1 has since been observed as the ICD by numerous countries, especially
by Communist countries; in the Western world the ICD is usually celebrated on
other days of the year (if at all), and there is often little public awareness
about these celebrations. (See the section on Germany below for further
discussions.) Consequently there is sometimes a misperception that June 1 as the
ICD was a Communist invention. Nonetheless, in recent years even some groups
within the United States started observing the ICD on June 1.

You said that things seemed clearer when they were written down. Well, here
with a very boring letter in which I will try to put everything down so that you
may read and re-read it at a horror at your folly in getting involved with
me.
Deep breath. To begin with ,I love you. With a depth and passion and I have
felt for no one else in this life. And if it is astonishes you, it astonished me
as well. Not, I hasten to say, because you are not worth loving. Far from it.
Its just that, first of all,I swore I would not get involved with another
woman. Secondly, I have never had such a feeling before and it is almost
frightening. Thirdly, I would never have thought it possible that another human
being could occupy my waking and sleeping thoughts to the exclusion of almost
everything else. Fourthly, I never thought that even if one was in love one
could get so completely besotted with another person so that a minute away from
them felt like a thousand years. Fifthly, I never hoped, aspired, dreamed that
one can find everything one wanted in one person.
I was not such an idiot as to believe this was possible. Yet in you I have
found everything I want: youre beautiful, gay, giving, gentle, idiotically and
deliciously feminine, sexy, wonderfully intelligent and wonderfully silly as
well. I want nothing else in this life than to be with you, to listen and watch
you, your beautiful voice, your beauty, to argue with you, to laugh with you, to
show you things, to share things with you, to explore your magnificent mind, to
explore your wonderful body, to help you, protect you, serve you ,and...bash you
on the head when I think you are wrong...
Not to put too fine a point on it, I consider that I am the only man
outside mythology to have found crock of gold at the rainbows end. But, having
said all that, let us consider things in details. Dont let this become public,
but, well...I have one or two faults. Minor ones,I hasten to say. For example I
am inclined to be overbearing. I do it for the best possible motives, all
tyrants say that, but I do tend, without thinking, to treat people underfoot.
You must tell me when Im doing it to you, my sweet, because it can be a very
bad thing in a marriage.
Right, the second blemish. This actually is not so much a blemish of
character as a blemish of circumstance. Darling, I want you to be you on your
own right, and I will do everything I can to help you in this. But you must take
into consideration that I am also me in my own right. And that I have a head
start on you. What Im trying to say is that you must not feel offended if you
are sometimes treated simply as my wife. Always remember that what you lose on
the swings you gain on the roundabouts. But i am an established ‘creature’ in
the world, and so on occasions you will have to live in my shadow. Nothing gives
me less pressure than this. But it is a fact of life that has to be faced.
Third, a very important and nasty, blemish. Jealousy. I dont think you
know what jealousy is, thank god, in the real sense of the word. I know that you
have felt jealousy over Lincolns wife and child, but this is what I call normal
jealousy, and this to my regret, is not what Ive got. What I have got is a
black monster and any goodness that I have in my make-up. It is really a Jekyll
and Hyde situation... my Hyde is stronger than my good sense and defeats me,
hard though I try. As I told you, I have always known that this lurks within me,
but I could control it, and my monster slumbered and nothing happened to awake
it. Then I met you and I felt my monster stir and become half-awake when you
told me of Lincoln and others you have known, would you like to end with your
letter my monster came out of its lair, black, irrational, bigoted, stupid,
evil, malevolent. You never know how terribly corrosive jealousy is; It is a
physical pain as though you have swallowed acid or red hot coals. It is the most
terrible of feelings. But you cant help it at least I cant and god knows Ive
tried. I dont want any ex-boyfriends sitting in church when I marry you. On our
wedding day I want nothing but happiness both for you and me, but I know I wont
be happy if there is a church full of your ex-conquests. When I marry you I will
have no past, only a future. I dont want to drag my past into our future and I
dont want you to do it, either. Remember I am jealous of you because I love
you. You are never jealous of something you dont care about.
Okay enough about jealousy. Now let me tell you something. I have seen a
thousand sunsets and sunrises, in a thousand sunsets and sunrises on land where
it floods forest mountains with honey-coloured light, at sea where it rises and
sets like a blood orange in a multi-coloured nest of cloud, slipping in and out
of the vast ocean. I have seen thousand moons. Harvest moon is like gold coins,
winter moons as white as ice chips, new moons like baby swans feathers. I have
seen seas as smooth as if painted, coloured like shot silk or blues as a
kingfisher or transparent as glass or black and crumpled with foam, moving
ponderously and murderously. I have felt winds straight from the south pole,
bleak and wailing like a lost child; Winds as tender and warm as a lovers
breath; Winds that carried the astringent smell of salt and the death of
seaweeds; Winds during the moist rich smell of a forest floor, the smell of a
million flowers. Fierce winds that churned and moved the sea like yeast, or
winds that made the waters lap at the shore like a kitten. Ive known silence:
the cold, earthy silence at the bottom of a newly dug well; The implacable stony
silence of a deep cave; The hot, drugged midday silence when everything is
everything is hypnotized and still moved into silence by the eye of the sun. The
silence when great music ends. Ive heard that summer cicadas cry so that the
sound seems stitched into your bones. Ive heard a tree frogs in an
orchestration as complicated as Bach singing in a forest lit by a million
emerald fireflies. Ive heard the Keas calling over the grey glaciers that
groaned to themselves like old people as they inched. Their way to the sea. Ive
heard the hoarse street vendor cries of the mating Fur seals as they sang to
their sleek golden wives, the crisp staccato admonishment of the rattlesnake,
make the cobweb squeak of the Bat and the belling roar of the red deer knee-deep
in purple heather. Ive heard wolves baying at a winters moon, read howlers
making the forest vibrate with their roaring cries. Ive heard the squeak, purr
and grunt of a hundred multi-coloured reef fishes. I’ve seen hamming birds
flashing like opals round a tree of scarlets blooms, humming like a top. I have
seen flying fish skittering like quicksilver across the blue waves, drawing
silver lines on the surface with their tails. Ive seen Spoonbills flying home
to roost like a scarlet banner crossed the sky. Ive seen Whales, black as tar,
cushioned on a cornflower blue sea, creating a Versailles of fountain with their
breath. I have watched butterflies emerge and sit, trembling, while the sun
irons their wings smooth. I watch tigers, like flames, mating in the long grass.
I have been dive -bombed by an angry Raven, black and glossy as the Devils
hoof. Ive lain in water warm as milk, soft as silk, while around me played a
host of Dolphins. I have met a thousand animals and see a thousand wonderful
things.
All this I did without you. This was my loss. All this I want to do with
you. This will be my gain. All this I would gladly have forgone for the sake of
one minute of your company, for your love, your voice, your eyes, hair, lips,
body, and above all for your sweet, ever surprising mind which is an enchanting
quarry, in which it is my privilege to delve.

We enjoyed ourselves while we were at table. However, some teenagers
sitting beside our table began to talk and laugh loudly. What’s worse, they
began to smoke in the restaurant, which made us angry. After a while, I stood up
and advised them to stop smoking and behave themselves. To my surprise, they
didn’t follow my suggestions. Instead, they laughed at me, saying that I was too
young and too naive.
In my opinion, it’s wrong to do that in public. The future of our courtry
lies in teenagers, who should not only obey the rules in public but also make
contributions to the society.

and words of determination. A person who believes in them will keep trying to
reach his goal no matter how many times he fails. Benjamin Franklin once
said,”Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance.”From the
remark,we can infer that,of all the advantageous characteristics, perseverance
plays a crucial role in one’s success.
Remember that year, I bought a bike, but I cant ride a bike! Mom seems to
understand my thoughts, gently to me: "tomorrow Ill show you to your square,
teach you to ride a bicycle." "Good!" Im happy to reply.
The next morning, my mother and I went to the square. Mother let me push
this bike, and look for the feeling, I have to not boring to walk cycles.
Fifteen minutes passed, and my feet really acid! I want to back down. Well,
learn the bike how so difficult, it is better not learn! At this time, my mother
said to me ": well, quite good!" Listened to mothers words, my heart is light
suddenly full of confidence. Mother then began to lecture, "learning bicycle,
the most important thing is to keep the car balance, otherwise the car like a no
head of flies, left, right. Didnt walk a few steps, I already fell off. My
knees hurt, out of the red blood, looking at this bright red blood, I cant help
but shed a hot tears, his mouth still keeps saying: "I dont learn, I dont
learn! After listening to his mother, to longly say to me: "do what matter as
long as perseverance, perseverance, perseverance will be successful. Like what
you do is always fall by the wayside, how can success?" Listen to the mothers
teachings I have the confidence again, two days before, I had learned to ride a
bicycle, but most importantly, I learned to insist on.Now I see them as my
motto, adhere to is victory let it remind me to do anything as long as
perseverance, perseverance, perseverance will be successful.
Nothing can be more exciting than success to a man.But you must face many
difficulties before you can succeed. No one can make it easily. And its harder
for those who are in adverse conditions to succeed. However, everything has two
sides.Just as someone said, in every adversity there lies the seed of an
advantage and in every defeat there is a lesson showing you how to win the
victory next time. The most important focus is to establish a brief, that is
perseverance. The British ex-prime minister Winston Churchill had a motto of
"Never, never, never, never give up .Nothing can substitute for hard work. Life
is a process of struggle for success.

back towards the town. As he was hopping about, the animal control came and
shouted to the green parrot; the parrot understood, and started to fly up. The
van of the so called, “Animal controller”, followed until the gas ran out. He
had no choice but to give up.
Now of course, the green parrot escaped out of sight, and found some twigs
that were going to help him be comfortable during the whole time freedom. When
the pirate Captain Cook came back from his journey; he stopped a while to find
treasure on an island during his way pass. Once or twice a time he would turn
back and sail for land, and so he couldn’t make up his choice. At last he got
the treasure from his mates, and started for land immediately, they kept the
treasure in a box, which had a code of handsome Ship. None of his mates knew
that, so that whenever they wanted to steal some gold from the Captain, they
would have to enter the code.
Now let’s go back to the parrot; the parrot was actually having a pretty
good time, but his nest became a pretty kettle of fish. His eyesight was not too
bad either; nor his ears, except they were as small as an ant. When Captain.
Cook’s ship came closer to land the parrot was all ears to hear what he was
saying. “Mates, you go down and fetch as many gold as you can, while I stay
here, I had a long week of sailing this ship; and so I’m going to stay in my bed
and kick back.”
His mates were like servants and obeyed immediately, the parrot however;
heard his every word, and wanted to stay with the captain and live. He had a
plan, and then he flew down and tickled a mate’s toe. The mate laughed, and the
parrot stopped. When the mate paid attention to the parrot, the mate said, “How
are you doing?” the parrot answered, “Great; how are you doing?” “Not too bad,
thanks;” “Take it easy,” they soon became friends, and chatted all along, “So,
can you give me a home to live on the ship?” “Sure thing, piece of cake;” when
they got the parrot on the ship; the captain came out, and became friend with
the parrot also.
The parrot gave him advice, and he became wealthy and returned all the
gold, but kept the treasure he found himself on other islands; and when people
trouble the parrot, the captain with which will defeat those guys with his
mighty sword.

One day he was reading about a book, which tells a little girl called
Cindy; met with a dangerous adventure through the woods. But in it were many
challenges which allowed her to be famous. Mike wanted to be just like the
little girl in the story, but could he do this on his own?
Mike decided to try it, for he read a book about many stories; among them
was a tale that tells if you don’t try it then you will never learn to walk. And
so Mike grabbed his bag and went out his home which just happened to be in the
woods. As he wondered about in the woods, he could not tell which way to go, for
there were too many trees that are all alike. Since he didn’t have a map, he
just turned in circles. At last he found a little passage way which led to a
little bridge.
Mike did not know what was on the other side of the bridge, without even
thinking he began walking. As he crossed the bridge, he found three walls. And
over the other said was a dark cave. Mike did not look at the walls, he began to
walk. But as he approached the first wall, he found one side of it green and the
other yellow. “There must be a trap between these pairs!” he thought. And so he
took a step backward, to his surprise he found a little sign, on the sign were
these word: If you want to go inside the cave, then you must pass these tests.
The first test is that you must be able to find out a wall that will lead you to
a garden. In that garden you must find a four leaved clover and a rose. Mike
started to think about this problem.
He thought of the words which his mother had told him before she died.
“Remember son, green means garden; red means danger, orange means lucky; and
yellow means death.” Mike thought, ‘Green means garden, yellow means death! I’ve
got it! I must go through the green wall!” and so without even saying a word, he
entered the green wall, and there he found a lovely garden, “I knew it! I did
it! Now to find a four leaved clover and a rose.” Mike then began to look for
those things.
At last he found a four leaved clover behind a bush, and a rose near the
fountain. Mike then went through the green wall again, and soon was back where
the two walls were. He then crossed the two walls slowly, “I don’t see why I
would have to get these ingredients? What are they for?” he thought. Suddenly he
came to the second pair of walls. This time, he found a little hole, he thought
to himself, “What should I put inside it? I don’t have anything?” Suddenly, he
found out that he had a four leaved clover and a rose. He put them inside the
hole and then he could walk pass it. “Looks like the four leaved clover and the
rose are helpful to me.”
The last test came to Mike; it was a math problem;
“1+2+3+4+5+6+7…+98+99+100.” “This is easy!” cried Mike. He wrote the answer
“5050.” At last the gate opened and Mike walked inside. He found many materials
and used them to invent things.
Did you know that one day, Mike went out and was hurt by a sharp plant.
During that discovery Mike went to his workshop, and began inventing something.
That time it was 1865, and Mike invented the knife. After that, he invented many
things, and was known as the great inventor Mike.

I am terribly sorry that I failed to arrive at BLCU last Friday. I hope

My father was working very hard on his project on protecting the

I will let you know if there is any good news.
I am sorry again and look forward to seeing you soon.
Yours sincerely,
