1、巧用单个词：即用一个单词代替一组意义相同的单词。比如：

用forget(忘记)代替do not remember(没有记住)

用ignore(忽视)代替do not pay attention to(不注意)

用now(现在)代替at this point in time(此时此刻)

用because(由于)代替due to the fact that(鉴于下列事实)

2、省略同义词或近义词。比如在下面例句中，形容词important(重要的)和significant(有重要意义的)，就是两个同义词(也可以说是近义词)，我们可以省略important，只保留significant。

The government project is significant.(这项政府计划有重要意义。)

3、在不改变句子含义的前提下，省略所有可以省略的单词。比如在下面例句中，the cover of the book(书的封面)可以省略成the book cover，is red in color(是红色的)可以省略成is red。

注：把句中的"three parts"改用形容词来表达，节省了四个不必要的单词"which is written in"。我们经常可以将关系代词如"that"去掉，这只会引起最少的变动。

端午节来啦!端午节是我们纪念大诗人屈原的日子，是赛龙舟的日子，也是吃五黄(黄瓜、黄鱼、黄鳝、黄酒、咸蛋黄)的日子，但我最喜欢的就是包粽子了!

今天，是我第一次跟妈妈学包粽子。妈妈准备好事先已泡了3小时的糯米、酱了一晚上的五花肉、梅干菜笋干、洗干净晾干的粽叶、麻线、蜜枣和红枣，我们准备开包啦!只见妈妈先拿出粽叶(大的一张就可以，小的要两张)，把粽叶的二分之一往上翻，然后把左边的粽叶向右一旋，手把粽叶轻轻一捏，就成了圆锥形的漏斗。接着，妈妈把糯米在漏斗中摊平，再把一条精肉、一条肥肉和梅干菜笋干放在摊平的糯米上，再铺上一层糯米，用手用力往下压一压，最后把粽子的上部翻下来，用绳子扎紧，一个三角形的肉粽就做成了。我按照妈妈的示范，也开始认真地包起来，可是叶子在我手里就不听使唤了，不是漏米，就是叶子破，我只能帮妈妈打下手了，帮她剪包粽子的麻线和放馅儿。我们包完肉粽，还包了蜜枣粽。

With the improvement of our living standard, more and more people can afford a car. As a result, our roads are more often than not crammed with cars. I have moved to my new school since Septmber. It is a modern and nice school which is in Beijing. It has a playground, a library, several labs, classrooms with electronic equipment and so on. Its quite different from my old school. Its larger, much more modern. This is why I love my new school. If you are free, you are warmly welcomed to come to our school to have a look.

My classroom is big and clean.There are twenty-five desks and twenty-five chairs.There is a blackboard on the wall.In front of the blackboard,there is teachers desk.There are four windows and two doors in the wall.All the students like our classroom very much.

Which is nicer-I do not know-to go on a train, or to see people go? Which is better, to be inside, waving and going for a ride, or to be outside, and waving back, And watching the train speed down the track? Which is nicer? I think I know; it is nicer to Watch except-when you go!
