我为什么要设立这个节日呢？因为有一次妈妈出去吃饭，很晚才回家，回来的时候扶着墙走路，不知喝了多少酒，任凭爸爸的责骂与叫嚷，她只是捂着嘴，疯狂地冲向卫生间，呕吐声夹杂着刺鼻的味道充斥着整个屋子，这一幕让我看在眼里，疼在心里。要知道喝酒会引发肝硬化、胃溃疡及肾心血管病变，严重还会导致死亡的。所以我想设立这个节日。

如果设立了“禁酒节”，在这一天，所有酒楼、超市不准卖酒，均用茶水或者饮料代替。所有人不能喝酒，不能讨论与酒有关的事情，大街小巷都贴上了禁酒标语，切实做到禁酒深入人心。

“禁酒节”这天上午人们都来到了广场上，纷纷拿出家里各种各样的酒，啤酒、白酒、红酒、梅子酒、葡萄酒……疯狂地往地上“砰、砰、砰”地砸去，把酒统统倒掉，以此来庆祝节日的到来。

下午人们再次聚集到广场上听禁酒宣传讲座。主持人滔滔不绝地讲述着喝酒的坏处、喝酒的危害、酒后驾驶的不安全，可谓是“司机一滴酒，亲人两行泪。”人们惊叹不已，掌声、呐喊声此起彼伏。

从此往后，有很少的人喝酒。

The Spring Festival

The Spring Festival， Chinese New Year，is the most important festival for all of us. All family members get together on New YearEve to have a big meal.At the same time， everyone celebrates to each other.At about 12 oclock，some parents and children light crackers.The whole sky is lighted brightly. We may watch the fireworks excitedly.How busy it is!

On the first early moring of one year， many senior citizen get up early and they stick the reversed Fu or hang some couplets on the front door. Some houses windows are sticked on red paper cutlings.

The Chinese New Year lasts fifteen days. So during the fifteen days， we always visit our relatives from door to door. At that time， children are the happiest because they can get many red packets form their parents，grandparents， uncles， aunts and so on. The last day of the Chinese New Year is another festival. It names the Lantern Festival.

So the Chinese New Year comes to the end.

爱鸟日

如果可以再设立一个节日的话，我想设立一个爱鸟日，为什么呢？

那是暑假里的一天，我独自在公园里散步，看见前方有一个小男孩手里拿着弹弓，对着大树上的鸟儿，只听“嗖”的一声，那只鸟儿掉落在草地上。我迅速跑过去，刚想抓住那个小男孩，他就跑了。我转身看了看那只小鸟，它扇动着那双受伤的翅膀，发出痛苦的惨叫声。你听：叽叽、叽叽……我连忙用双手轻轻地把它捧起，回来拿了一块纱布帮它包扎好伤口。它的身子黄黄，我就给它取名叫“小黄”。我给小黄盖了一个小房子，给它找食吃。终于，它的伤好起来了。我把它放飞天空，它在天空中自由自在地飞翔，我看了以后，也开心极了！

从那以后，我一直在想：如果能有一个爱鸟日该多好呀！就订在五月十七日吧，因为，这刚好是发生那件事的日期。到了那天，所有人都要帮捕捉到的鸟搭新房子，给小鸟找食吃，而且要把捉到的鸟放回大自然。就连猎人也不能伤害小鸟一根羽毛，否则，就要受到严重的惩罚。

Of all teachers who have taught me since my early childhood, the most unforgettable one is my first English teacher in college, Ms. Zhang. After class, she called me into the Teachers Room and discussed the situation with me, earnestly and kindly, citing the example of Robinson Crusoe to motivate me to go ahead in spite of all kinds of difficulties. "Be a man and rely on yourself," she nudged me. The next time we met, she brought me a simplified version of Robinson Crusoe and recommended that I finish reading it in a week and write a book report. Under her consistent and patient guidance, not only has my English been greatly improved, but my confidence and courage enhanced considerably.

"Rely on yourself and be a man," Ms. Zhangs inspiring words have been echoing in my mind. I will work harder and try my utmost to lay a solid foundation for my future career. Only by so doing can I repay Ms. Zhangs kindness and live up to her expectations of me, that is, to become a useful person and contribute to society.

Today is the annual New Years day, we are all very happy, the mood is very excited.

今天，是一年一度的元旦，我们大家都很开心，心情也是十分激动。

我们大家一直等到下午吃完饭，然后就打算看元旦节目了，不过，在这之前，我们年级开了一个小会，一开始唱了会儿歌，然后就说了说元旦的注意事项。马上，我们就踏着轻盈的脚步，哼着欢快的歌曲，进餐厅了。

到了餐厅，老师安排好座位之后，倒数5个数之后精彩元旦就马上开始了。第一个是《英华畅想曲》，上面有一大群的人，有那小提琴的、吹笛子的、弹琴的……有很多的人，还有智慧的老师在最前面指挥。很快，这美妙的歌曲慢慢就过去了。很快就过去了很多舞蹈，有《木兰辞》、《我和小鸟拉钩钩》、《辣妞妞》……很快，我们屏住气息，很快就轮到了——我们班的舞蹈《吉祥孔雀》——之前老师还让我们看过原版的。

我们班张玄仪在里面是主演，还有我们班的赵高沐、李诗同、申晓雪，还有其他班的人在里面演。很快，美妙的旋律开始了，舞台上灯光满面。演员们化着妆，穿着绿色的孔雀衣服。台面上一眼望去，一片绿色。舞姿慢慢的舞动起来。舞台上仿佛拥有魔术一般，把大家看的眼珠子一动不动。很快一片热烈的声音响起，十分响亮。很快进入了高潮，一片片“孔雀”翩翩起舞，尾巴上的点点光闪亮动人。很快就结束了。元旦也很快就结束了。

今天真是开心的元旦啊!

The Laba Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the eighth day of the twelfth month of the lunar Chinese calendar. "La" is the name given to the 12th lunar month and 8 is pronounced as "ba" in Chinese, which translated is "Laba." There are several legends about the origin of this festivity and we could not tell which one is true. But what we know today is that this festival started as a sacrificial offering to ancestors. It was also a time for the ancient Chinese to pray to heaven and earth that there would be a bountiful harvest. Many people hoped for good luck as well for the coming year.

农历十二月初八是中国的传统节日——腊八节，腊代表中国农历的十二月，而八是eight的发音，因此，这个节日被翻译成腊八。关于腊八起源的传说有很多，我们已经不能辨其真假。时至今日，我们确定的是这个节日起初是为了祭祀祖先，祈求丰收以及为即将来到的一年祈福。

Traditionally, the Laba rice porridge is the most important element of the festival. Generally, the porridge contains eight ingredients which can include glutinous rice, red beans, millet, Chinese sorghum, peas, dried lotus seeds and some other ingredients, such as dried dates, chestnut meat, walnut meat, almond, peanut, etc. The porridge must be boiled for many hours and then offered as a sacrifice to the ancestors. This must be done before noontime. Also, it is tradition that family members eat the porridge together. Then they leave some as a symbol of hope for a good harvest the coming year.

Another custom is the soaking of Laba garlic. Garlic is soaked in vinegar for more than twenty days starting from Laba festival. Then when the Chinese New Year comes, the garlic and vinegar is used alongside jiaozi on the table.

腊八节的另一传统式腌制腊八蒜。从腊八节那天起，就将蒜泡在醋中二十多天，这样，到春节的时候，就可以在餐桌上与饺子同食了。
