Little Prince

This is a fairytale whose distribution volume is only second to The Bible. It’s been translated to versions of many other languages. And I gather there must be something special, something really great about it. It’s this conviction that drove me to read it at the first beginning. Well, with due respect to the author, I failed to see how this fairytale be worthy of our attention, despite the fact that many readers claimed this book to be designed for adults.

Anyway, as a well-acknowledged book, it must possess unique feature to maintain it’s position. And it’s reputation and popularity will by no means be destroyed by what an unknown man says. I will talk about the main contents of the book, and the inspiration it renders as usual.

This book mainly tells us the experience of a prince from a tiny planet, who traveled to many other planets and finally came to the earth and met the pilot in a desert. The prince and the pilot became good friends, and the pilot gradually got to know the feeling and experience of his friend. Before he came to the earth, little prince had been  to other 6 little planets where he made acquaintance with some strange people. The first man he met was a king on a little planet, yet he claimed to be the king of the space and ridiculously justified his unshakable governance over all. The second person was a man of vanity, who enjoyed compliments of any form without considering whether it’s sincere or not. The third person was an alcoholic who tried to forget the fact that he’s addicted to acohol by drinking like a fish. The fourth person was an abosolute money-oriented businessman, who cared nothing but his fortune. Next came the lamp-lighter who performed his duty blindly. The last one was a geographer who knew too much about geography to solve a real problem related to it. These six people each represented one kind of person like us. The author satirized people’s conceit, emptiness, fakeness, innocence and blindness through the tone of a child.

I see eye to eye with the author in that the cause of people’s loneliness can be concluded to the negligence of the bonds that connects them. People are supposed to care about each other, cherish what’s really important for them, and be grateful for the happiness that they’ve gained. We all believe knowledge and experience enable us to see clearly and make right judgements all the time. But we may sometimes lose the right to  speak straighforwardly, think creatively or love courageously resulting from what we’ve experienced. That why in our middle school textbooks, it’s the little kid that breaks the illusion of the emperor by saying ”but mum, he ain’t were anything”.

When I was a child, I was definitely a good boy who went home on time after school and did his homework and never tried anything without mom’s permission. And now I am a grown-up, and still I am a good man, at least, that’s what I heard. Sometimes when I was lonely and I began to think about my childhood, then all the happiness and care-free

life came back to me as it were yesterday. Kids that once accompanied me during my childhood now become fathers and mothers of their kids and I myself am a child no more.  Thinking about all these things have made me moody. There’re changes happening in our lives whether we are happy about it or not.

People told me life is a journey which will never stop once it’s started. What’s left behind are happiness and sorrow, pride and shame, success and regret. There’s good old time to reminisce and there’s sad hours that reminds us of the pain. Your feeling makes them real, and you know you lived.

I want to conclude by saying some positive words that each yestersday used to be today, and each today is the future of yesterday, so making the most of today is the best way to cherish your lives. Our mortal beings are doomed to die. It’s not sad, instead, death it’s just a process of our lives. After all, we’ve lived our lives and it’s what we do and how we think that determine who we are.

香港的教育无疑是成功的，他教导了孩子潜移默化的尊重与理解，老师言传身教，确实令人赞善。

香港的国际学校不会特别开设课程教导学生社交礼仪，全凭日常校园生活、校长老师以身作则，教会他们一些社交规则。学校也没有开设勿歧视残障及低智商人士的课程，因为不需要，同学们根本没这个观念。

儿子念小学二年级时，一日放学回家吃点心，我跟他闲聊，问他学校当天有没有特别的事情发生，他闲闲地说：“没什么，只是汤姆的眼珠子掉了出来，我们替他拾回，他在饮水机洗了洗，放回去了，但没消毒，我担心会有细菌。”

我不太相信自己的耳朵，又不想显得大惊小怪，问：“是不是妈妈听错了?你是说汤姆的眼球吗?”

“是，他的眼球不知为什么老是掉下来，可能要换一颗大一点的。”儿子就像在说汤姆的校服衬衣需要换一件大一点的般轻松平常。

我细问汤姆的眼球掉下来的原因，儿子理所当然地说：“他的左眼失去了眼球，医生替他放一个假的上去，很真的，看起来跟我们没分别。但没实际用途，他的左眼仍是看不到东西。”

同学们对于汤姆瞎了一只眼睛的事实很接受，不会歧视或取笑他，跟他相处与其他同学无异。他的眼球随时会掉下来，也不把他看成怪物，大家就只管替他拾回眼球，像拾回一个乒乓球，没有惊恐尖叫。

另一小学同学若翰生日，在他家大厦的花园开生日派对，我陪儿子前往。一班同学都到了，唯独不见若翰，我又借此机会教导儿子准时的重要性，作为主人家也迟到，太不礼貌，令客人感觉不被尊重。儿子代为解释：“若翰向来比较慢，我们一班同学都理解，所以不会介意。”

看到若翰拖着妈妈的手，一脸纯真的笑容迎面走过来，我感到十分惭愧，想马上收回刚才的评语，原来若翰是唐氏综合征患者。同学们并没有认为他迟钝、智商低，而是完全接受他“比较慢”，不觉得他异于常人。若翰跟同学们相处融洽，大家没有特别迁就他、呵护他，他玩游戏输了同样要受罚。

我在旁边看着，很赞赏学校实行人性化的融合教育，每班录取两三位智商有问题或身体残障的同学，贯彻一视同仁、伤健一家的精神，小朋友自幼从现实生活中懂得人人平等，学校和家长无须特别严训孩子不要歧视残障人士。有时在街上会听到大人阻止子女用好奇的眼光看失明、四肢不全、兔唇、唐氏综合征人士，又或当众对子女说：“你不应这样盯着人家，他会很尴尬，他已经很不幸，我们应同情他们、帮助他们。”以为这叫家教，其实是好心做坏事，在伤口上撒盐，要教应该早在家里教了。

国际学校不单教学问，也教正确观念，用的不是书本和考试，是在日常生活中潜移默化。

我曾就此题目，在香港报章专栏狠批本地学校拒收残障及低智商学童，认为教育部门负有责任。文章见报后，当时的教育局副局长特地约我茶聚，解释教育局一直鼓励敦促本地学校收取少数残障及低智商学童，校方坚拒，理直气壮：“这样会导致学校被标签为‘特殊学校’，连累其他正常学生被视作‘特殊’，引来家长群起投诉，损害学校声誉，影响收生率。”

有些学校则以老师人手紧绌、校务繁重、腾不出人手为由，拒收身体或智商有问题的学童，或者辩称资源短缺、设施不足。教育局提出愿意增加拨款，资助学校增聘人手及设施，学校迫不得已答允，附带条件是只收哑童入读，因为他们不会制造噪声滋扰其他人，且容易看管。

我听得火起。香港鼓励融合教育，将残障儿童安排入读普通学校，但完全基于信任机制，法律无明文规定学校有义务和责任取录残障儿，结果教育局有心无力，只能倚赖学校的社会良心和责任感。

All people and all other nations. We will seek common ground, not hostility, partnership, not conflict. And now I would like to take this moment to thank some of the people who really helped me with this, what they are calling tonight a very, very historic victory.

First I want to thank my parents, who I know are looking down on me right now. Great people. Ive learned so much from them. They were wonderful in every regard. They are truly great parents. Where is Ben? By the way, Mike Huckabee is here someplace, and he is fantastic. Mike and his familiar bring Sarah, thank you very much. Gen. Mike Flynn. Where is Mike? And Gen. Kellogg. We have over 200 generals and admirals that have endorsed our campaign and there are special people. We have 22 congressional medal of honor people. A very special person who, believe me, Iread reports that I wasnt getting along with him. I never had a bad second with him. Hes an unbelievable star. He is -- thats right, how did you possibly guess? Let me tell you about Reince. Ive said Reince. I know it. I know it. Look at all of those people over there. I know it, Reince is a superstar. I said, they cant call you a superstar, Reince, unless we win it. Like secretariat. He would not have that bust at the track at Belmont.

Reince is really a star and he is the hardest working guy and in a certain way I did this. Reince, come up here. Get over here, Reince.

Amazing guy. Our partnership with the RNC was so important to the success and what weve done, so I also have to say,Ive gotten to know some incredible people.

And when I want to go and wave to a big group of people and they rip me down and put me back down in the seat, but they are fantastic people so I want to thank the Secret Service.

And law enforcement in New York City, theyre here tonight. These are spectacular people, sometimes underappreciated unfortunately, we appreciate them. So its been what they call an historic event, but to be really historic, we have to do a great job and I promise you that I will not let you down. We will do a great job. We will do a great job. I look very much forward to being your president and hopefully at the end of two years or three years or four years or maybe even eight years you will say so many of you worked so hard for us, you will say that — you will say that—that was something that you were — really were— very proud to do and I can — thank you very much—and I can only say that while the campaign is over, our work on this movement is now really just beginning. Some time ago read "the old man and the sea", "the old man and the sea" is Hemingway written in Cuba in 1951, a medium-length novel, was published in 1952. The old man and the sea is one of Hemingways most famous works, he tells the story of an old man fishing on the sea all the year round. Once he caught a big fish, but he had met on the way back to groups of sharks, the old man work hard and struggle, but failed in the end, the shark ate all of the meat, the old man dragged a pair of big fish skeleton back.

Novels of all time is very compact, before and after only four days: the day before at sea, the old man returned from the sea, with reference to play around the characters one by one, the relationship between the group and the old man, a love he, with his children learn fishing manolin; A pair of very selfish parents; A group of respected him, but always cant understand his fishing; A concerned about his hotel owners. Secondly, I11 say something about the tradition on Mid-Autumn Day. Look!Theres a big tree in a garden of a Chinese fami-ly. All the family members are sitting around a big table under the tree in the open air. They are eating the mooncakes and admiring the full moon in the sky. That is a family reunion dinner. The mooncakes and the moon represent the love from a family. I think this is one of the most valuable things in the world.

Firstly, Id like to say something about the moon. I like it very much because I want to be an astronaut in the future. That day the moon is round, big, just like a beautiful plate hanging on the blue cloth. When I see the moon, I will remember the ancient myths——the godess Chang Er and her little rabbit are playing under the tree which Wu Gang grows. I will also think about Armstrongs first moonwalk. I will also miss the friends in Tai-wan island, in Macao and Chinese people who are abroad. I know they are missing us very much, too.

I think Mid-Autumn Day is an old traditional festival in China. Everybody likes it because its a family get-together. You see it is called"Mid-Autumn Day"daring，so it often comes in September or October. It is on the 15th of the 8th of the lunar month. Now， lets say something about this interesting festival.

Thirdly，it is a very good opportunity to make three wishes on Mid-Autumn Day. My wishes are: the first, I, an astronaut in the future, would like to go to the moon one day, and stay with the sky and stars; the second, I hope every person in the world will stay with family, share love from the family forever; the third, I hope everybodys dream will come true.

Dear Mr. President，

As a regular student at our college， I have some complaint to make about

the canteen service on campus.

Firstly， the canteen environment is very bad. Actually， it is becoming more

and more crowded and noisy with an ever larger presence of vocational students

every term. Secondly， the canteen workers are bad-mannered. Far from being warm

and kind-hearted， they always seem to be cold and rude to us students. Thirdly

and most importantly， the dishes at our canteen are too expensive， though they

are by no means good quality or delicious. The survey the Student Union carried

out last week reveals that on average a student will spend 10 to 12 yuan on

meals every day. This is for more than the food expenses of students in the

neighborhood colleges.

Nutritious and delicious meals well within the students means are very

important for young students. I really wish measures could be taken to improve

our canteen service.

这个假期，我读了一本斯托夫人的《汤姆叔叔的小屋》。这本书让我沉浸其中，非常感动。后来，我查阅该书历史背景，了解到故事是发生在美国废奴运动时期，这是一个感人至深的故事，读完《汤姆叔叔的小屋》，我对汤姆肃然起敬。

这本书讲述一个叫汤姆的黑奴，因主人欠债而被卖，之后不停辗转买主，最后在南方的一个种植园，因不肯说出两个逃走的女奴的下落，被主人狠狠鞭打致死。

读到汤姆之死，我不禁为汤姆感到悲伤和气愤，汤姆的正直、善良经受住了一切考验，甚至临死还在宽恕自己恶毒的主人。他爱那些同为奴隶的黑人，因为他们同样深受苦难，他爱那些对他好的主人们，因为他们同样善良;他爱那些同样爱他的人，可是他为什么对那些残忍、贪婪、十恶不赦的奴隶主同样充满关爱呢?这就是他无上的爱。是的，他信仰上帝，可他不知道，他自己也同上帝一样满怀爱心。

我深深地敬佩汤姆，也同情他，而我厌恶奴隶制度，谁说黑人生来就低贱?虽说现如今早已废除了奴隶制度，但我还是感到人们或多或少看不起黑人。在《哈利波特》的舞台剧中，女主角赫敏由一位黑人姑娘出演，这就引起评论认为应该由白人来演，我甚至也认为赫敏应该是个白人姑娘。

可后来我想起，原作者罗琳只说了她棕色的眼睛和卷发，并没有说她是个白人。这时，我不禁羞愧又十分惊诧，或者我们对黑人的歧视依然存在，甚至是在骨子里的，不过我说不清楚是因为历史还是肤色。

不管怎么说，我是喜欢汤姆这个人物的，他可以爱任何人，我甚至不能深爱那些爱我的人，与汤姆相比，我的爱是多么自私和狭隘啊!在汤姆伟大的人格面前，我又是多么渺小啊!我为汤姆无上的爱而动容，也为自己的爱的狭隘而惭愧，这本书也使我懂得了一个道理，人无论经历怎样的苦难，大爱终归无疆。
