以前去过图书馆，看见管理员们走来走去忙碌的身影，心中早就萌发出一种向往，希望有机会体验一下工作的味道。假期，我们终于有幸实践这项工作了，我们摩拳擦掌，充满期待。

当天下午，我们怀着兴奋的心情准时到达图书馆，询问了负责人我们需要做的工作，便开始工作起来。我们先将读者还的图书按书上贴有的磁条的编码放到合适的位置，再逐个图书架进行整理，这项工作量挺大的，我们分工合作，认真而有耐心地整理。书架最上层的我们就轮流踩在一张专用板凳上，一个人站在板凳上整理书籍，一个人在下面配合。这项工作讲求队员的合作精神，充分发挥了我们的团队精神。经过我们的精心工作，这些图书都井然有序地排列着。我们还需继续努力，还需继续整理剩余图书，但整理了一段时间，发现工作比较难进行，因为下午在图书馆阅读书籍的人较多，装书车比较难移动，所以我们决定先暂停手上的工作，进行报纸的分类放置。这样从难度小的开始做，再一步一步得往难度大的进行，使得工作进行得很顺利。我们在工作中还时不时地看看地上有没有垃圾，一看到有，就会弯下腰捡起来，或用扫把扫起来，倒进垃圾桶。当有不文明行为，例如，有人把喝完的汽水放在地上，我们就会走上去善意地提醒，让他们懂得爱护公共场所的重要性。经过我们一下午有声有色的辛勤工作，书籍变得井然有序，整个图书馆里好像焕然一新一样。能够给读者们干净的环境去享受阅读的乐趣和购买书籍的快乐，我们心里别提有多开心。

欢乐的时光总有落幕，我们一下午的志愿者工作也随着日落结束了。

虽然只有一下午，但我们却受益匪浅。整理图书馆的工作量大，可我们却忙得不亦乐乎。因为我们通过自己的汗水和努力，使得图书的放置井然有序，方便读者的取阅，节约了他们寻找图书的时间。我们还为读者们提供了一个舒适的环境享受阅读的乐趣，还有进一步提高人们的道德水平。我们也体会到图书馆管理员的辛苦。正所谓“实践出真知”，作为初中生的我，并不是只要掌握理论知识，更应该主动去接触社会，主动参加到社会举办的各项有益活动中，充实自我，使自己的实践能力不断提高。所以我们不仅收获了一次实践活动，还收获了一种精神——无私奉献的精神，一种只求付出，不求回报的精神。

Another thing we need to work on is our English skills. Teachers and parents often put great emphasis on our English skills especially listening and speaking. It can’t be improved in a day or two. It takes time and energy. There are no shortcuts to improve your spoken English; the most productive way is to grab all opportunities around you to open your mouth. For instance, taking part in all kinds of English contests is a good way, you can meet some excellent contestants, and you can share the experience of learning and some good method of learning. I will keep participating in all English activities to polish up my English. I’m sure by the year of 2008, I will be able to master English well just as my mother tongue.
