One afternoon an old woman was crossing the street with a basket in her

hand. She was going to do some shopping.

Just then a car ran up fast and she was knocked down. One of her legs was

hurt and she couldnt move any more. A kind cleaner saw her and rushed to her at

once. He helped her stand up and took her to the nearest hospital. What a

warm-hearted man he was!

The secret of success is not so much money as a strong will. A great man is

one who has a strong will and an indomitable spirit. In other words, if a man

does not have a strong will to win the final victory, he will never succeed in

his life. He is no more than a failure.It is quite obvious that there is no

difficult thing in the world. if you make up your mind to do it, you will

certainly accomplish your end. That stands to reason.

There was once a little girl named Mary that wanted a phone so badly that

her parents couldn’t help bearing her crying and got her a phone with purple

dots and a little smiley face on it.

So life went on as usual until one day. when she was walking down town, she

saw a house, filled with decorations. She knew at once that this house was

having a party for somebody. Perhaps they were celebrating a birthday, or Happy

Anniversary… Mary really wanted to enter the party, so she begged them to let

her in and have a great time. They promised to let her in as long as she could

do what they asked.

And that request was to make bread for the poor and buy milk for them to

drink. That sounded like an easy request to grant, so she used her phone to call

her dad to get some bread and milk for the poor. But there was a problem, “No

phones allowed!” cried the owner of the house standing out. He held onto Mary’s

phone and pulled it out of her hand. He deleted her phone numbers and message

box, and then he took the batteries out, in case she had some other plans.

“There, now you couldn’t use your phone anymore,” and the owner went

inside. So poor Mary used her pocket money which was for a new dress for the

school party, to buy bread and milk for the poor; she was very sad, and went

back and said that she had finished her work.

“Where is your proof?” asked the owner again, “I-I didn’t know you wanted

me to give you proof?” “Well then you are out,” and he closed the door

tightly.

In ten years, I want to be a writer. Ill meet plenty of interested people

. Im going to work by subway every. Its good for earth. I think Ill live in

Beijing, because I will work there. I maybe become a famous people . Maybe I

will be able to take my family to move to Beijing. Ill keep a cute dog in my

big apartment. I think I will have more fans. That is my dream . On the

weekend,I will spend most time with my family,but I think I often have lunch

with my family in the future. We never know what will happen in the future. But

I think "future" is a beautiful word.

I like to listen to music very much, especially the English songs. My

favorite band is Coldplay. When I hear their classic song Yellow, I will be very

excited. The reason I like this band is that they have something different from

others. In their songs, they search about life. Listening to English songs also

can help me improve my English level.

My favorite animal is a rabbit. Its name is Dream.

Dream has two long ears. It’s very small. It’s white. It has a short tail.

It has red eyes. It likes eating carrots. It likes jumping.

I like it very much. It’s lovely. It’s my best friend. I like the

rabbit.

When festival comes, I will be very excited, because it is a good time for

my families to get together and we share our happiness. My favorite holiday is

Mid-autumn festival, I can eat mooncake. It is so delicious for me. The moon

looks so bright and big. We can appreciate it while playing cards in the

balcony.

I have a brother called Jason.He has two big eyes,one big mouse and black

hair. He is taller than most of the students in P4 even though he is in P2! He

is the most annoying person in my family!

He follows me and asks me to listen to him every day. Why? He says he is my

brother! If I dont listen to him,he will be very mad and talk to you until I

listen to him! One day,he lost his pen. And I had a same pen as the lost one, so

he started to blamed me even though I did not steal his pen. He had troubled me

a lot until I gave him my pen!

At night, he always asks me to tell him a story. If I dont do it, he will

do something disgusting

like putting his finger in to his mouth and then put the finger on to my

face!

I’m a builder. When other builders and I laid a foundation of a building,

we dug out some ancient cultural relics.

At that time, some people suggested we sell them so that we could get some

money. But I didn’t agree with them because I think these cultural relics are

our country’s wealth.

As Chinese people, we should protect them. So I told the other builders we

shouldn’t sell them, because cultural relics represent a country’s culture and

history. Besides, we should donate these culture relics to our country in case

they might be sold abroad secretly. We shouldn’t lose them.

The party starts at half past six- drinks, and a buffet supper later. You said in your letter that youve given up driving, so my father will meet you with the car at San Mateo station. Please let me know what time your train arrives.

There is a good train back to San Palo at 10:30 and well arrange transport for you to catch that. I hope that wont be too late for you. It would be a pity if you had to leave while the party was still in full swing.

I do not like teamwork in most time. Because I think it is hard for the

whole team to hold the same view. It is a waste of time to argue with each other

then make a compromise. But recently I have really seen the great power of

teamwork.

Last week we had a play competition. Because of some reasons, we had not

decided the play two days before the competition. Our monitor called the actors

and actresses who had been decided together. Then they think about every plot

together. To my surprise, it seemed that everybody had his or her good idea.

They gave up their weekend to practice the play. Finally our team won good marks

and were given the opportunity to participate in the final competition.

how time flies! it is ahnost a month since i arrived here and began a new life as a university student. but all this time, i have been missing you and my dear school. i just can not tell you how grateful i am to you for the help you gave me during my preparation for the university entrance examination. now i will tell you something about my university and life here.

our university lies at the foot of mount zijin, in the eastern suburbs of nanjing city. the campus is very big,with a big sportsground surrounded by lots of modern classroom buildings. what have impressed me most are the big library and the well-equipped language lab. our campus is also very beautiful. there are quite a few well-kept gardens. every road is lined with trees. how happy we are to study in such an enviromnent!

life here is both busy and coloufful. we have classes every morning. in the afternoon, we either work in the laboratory or do assignments in the classroom. in the evening, we can go to talks or do reading in the library. this keeps us occupied most of the week. but on weekends, there are always many entertainments. we may go to the club to have a dance or go to the cinema to see a fihn. sometimes we may also hold a party to practise oral english. in a word, we like our life here very much.

are you still teaching one of the senior classes? i really think that the students in your class are lucky for they will certainly benefit greatly under your instruction. but take care not to overwork yourself. i do hope you will have a chance of visiting me here.

In the Chinese lesson, I need to recite many old poems, which is very

difficult for the elder to do it, but it is so easy to me. As I am young and

full of energy, I can finish the job quickly. In the best age, I want to read

clean.There is a desk and a bed.There are some dolls on my bed .There are two

I’m a second year student of your university writing to tell you about my

humble opinions of the learning environment in our school.

Although we’re enjoying the modernized buildings equipped with advanced

computers sufficient lights and well-installed desks and chairs we do find it

hard for us to concentrate on study when we’re in the classrooms. For one thing

the annoying noise made by the vans and cars disturbs our studies. For another

the classrooms which are supposed to be used for self-study are unavailable for

they are usually occupied for meetings by various kinds of associations.

Faced with such a hard nut we should find ways to crack it. I suggest that

our school should construct some special lanes for the traffic and provide

associations with specific rooms to have their meetings in order to provide a

better learning environment for us.

school will be ideal for academic studies.

more than 20 years. Most people have changed their career but only he insists. I

admire him because he sells shoes no matter rain or shine. He loves his job and
