1.词汇量太少

再来看看新村，是我们定海扩建的村子。这可比旧城好多了，新楼林立，宾馆酒店随处可见，各种店铺到处都是，摆小摊做生意的也是星罗密布，真是热闹非凡!

走进那城墙上刻着“会城重镇”的城门，我们来到了定海旧城。这儿一个通道，那儿一个巷口，就把旧城串的四通八达。我和表弟经常在里面钻来钻去，嘻嘻，好像很适合玩躲猫猫的游戏。这里的路和房子都是用石头砌成的，充满了古色古香。我最喜欢的，就是清晨时的定海古城。清晨，雾从山谷里升起，穿插在山间的定海古城白茫茫一片，雾把旧城封得严严实实的。就在这时，太阳升起来了，千万缕像利剑一样的金光穿过树梢，照射在各个巷口的石板路上。知了叫了，鸟儿停在树梢上唱起歌来，宁静的定海顿时又热闹起来。

这就是我的故乡，那连江著名的港湾—定海。

How is everything going? I have good news to tell you. A volleyball match

is going to be held in a few weeks and our team will participate.

As for the detailed information of the match, there will be probably dozens

of teams which are going to make a revolving competition. Additionally, not only

can the top three teams each be awarded a medal but all the other teams taking

part in it will get a reward as well. What will be the most attractive is that

Skiing is a desirable activity fro＇ young people. It provides the excitement that the youth is commonly seeking. If they have more than average skill, they can sall through the air in breathtaking leaps and jumps that bring excitement to the onlookers as well. True, there is danger in this excitement,but that is a risk the youth enjoys. Furthermore, skiing is healthful.

It provides exercise, often very strenuous as the skiers trudge up a mountain path or work their way on skis up a slope of deep snow. The best of skiers know that they need strong muscles to successfully control their skis, so they exercise to keep themselves physically fit. Another desirable feature is the companionship that usually develops wherever skiers gather. Friendships grow quickly on the slopes and in the usual nearby shelter where the skiers find food, warmth, and rest. Their experiences of the day and their youthfulness easily draw these people together in happy fellowship.

家乡是留有童年回忆的地方，家乡是人一生最眷恋的地方。在每个人的心目中，家乡的位置历久弥新，无可替代。我的家乡就是位于皖西边陲、大别山腹地，素有将军县之称的——金寨县。

我的家乡比不上北京的车水马龙，也比不上王府井街的灯红酒绿。但我的家乡有朴实的人民，有美丽的景色。丰富的物产资源。

金寨的人是纯朴的。在田间地头，总会看见农民忙碌的背影。如果你上去打招呼，他会用脖子边上的毛巾擦一下脸上的汗珠，然后转过头，嘴角露出一丝丝的笑容。问一句：“吃了没？”然后吐了一小口唾沫在手掌中，两手一搓，最后抓起锄头继续干活。如果你家在晒稻谷的时候赶上下雨时，邻居会马上转移到你家门口帮忙着收谷子。不必说什么，只管去做。在晚上，有人来你家坐一会儿，准会有人泡上一杯自家的茶来招待你。金寨的人就是这样的勤劳、热情、朴素。

金寨山川秀美自然景观秀丽奇特，就好比金寨的梅山水库，梅山水库坐落在有着“红军故乡、将军摇篮”之誉的安徽金寨县县城南端。梅山水库建成50多年来，充分的发挥了巨大的综合功能。梅山水库是具有防洪、灌溉、发电、航运、水产养殖和旅游等综合利用功能的大型水利枢纽工程。此外，梅山水库景区还是一座物种丰富的天然动植物园，生长着豪猪，娃娃鱼等珍稀动物，以及大别山杜鹃、兰花等名贵植物或药材。可谓一座自然资源的宝库。

梅山水库周围附近还保存有许多永载史册的革命旧址，如闻名于世的立夏节起义旧址、红三十二师成立旧址，刘伯承元帅亲笔题名的金寨县革命烈士纪念塔就位于县城西北端，同志亲笔题名的金寨革命博物馆就坐落在县城红军村旁。

金寨除了美丽的景色还有丰富的物产，说到物产就不得不说一下我们金寨的茶叶了，其中“茶王”六安瓜片，金寨翠眉，国务院首选办公用茶“金龙玉珠”，原生态农家茶就有：银山沟大茶，金寨黄芽，金寨兰花，金寨天堂寨野茶。。金寨沫芽五种之多。除了茶叶还有板栗，在我们这里基本每家每户都有种板栗树，全县板栗种植面积、株数和产量均居全省之首、全国前列，是全国板栗生产重点县之一，被国家林业局命名为全国名特优经济林板栗之乡……

金寨，我的家乡，一个人杰地灵，民风淳朴的地方，是一个充满诗情画意的旅游休闲胜地、年桔之乡。

What is your favorite kind of music? Do you like jazz, popular music,

classical music, folk songs, blues, and so on? In high school I took one course

called music appreciation which I greatly enjoyed. This was not to learn how to

play a specific instrument but to learn how to read and listen to music as an

art form. We read the stories about the lives of many composers and the history

of the musical instruments themselves. Sometimes we listened to tapes at the

language laboratory, or concerts. Music is sometimes called a universal

language. A composer who cannot speak a single word of our language can make us

feel joy and pride, exaltation and despair, peace and mystery through his
