On behalf of the University Students Union, I, the Chairman of the Union , am earnestly calling for your active participation in our environmental protection campaign. It is the duty of every global villager; man just can not sustain his glorious civilization without a rewarding environment, which will be possible only if man makes considerable efforts to protect the environment.

Do you cherish precio us opportunities to volunteer in our joint efforts in environmental protection? Here is a great one not to be missed by any enthusiastic youth; Right next Saturday, our university is to run a publicity campaign to advocate environmental protection across the city. 地球是我们人类的母亲，是生命的摇篮。地球是无私的，它给我们人类各种资源，让我们人类在地球上更好的生活，地球母亲处处为我们人类着想，它将所有的一切都奉献给我们。我们人类太自私了，不知道感激还随意的破坏地球的环境，如今我们已面临着严重的灾害，多少个人为此受害，多少个人如今无家可归，都是我们人类的破坏照成的，我们有着不可推辞的责任，为了弥补我的罪行，我已经行动起来了。

去年的世界环保日，我去山上拾垃圾，我边拾边说：“谁这么的缺德到处乱扔垃圾这种人这么会和我们生活在同一个世界里呢?”我将地上个垃圾拾完后，在这儿竖立警告牌：请不要让大地的新装，没有了，反而盖上了一成垃圾。我又到马路边宣传环保亡意识，告诉大家现在面临的灾难和如今资源的浪费以及污染现象，召集大家要环保起来，做一个环保的公民，为地球的环保尽一份力量。

做为地球个主人，为了地球的环境，为了大家能更好的生活，如果能做到天天环保、人人环保，我相信可以创造出更美丽的世界!让我们一起加油吧!

each year there is an increasing number of cars on the roads as millions of new cars are produced. one out of six americans works at making cars, driving trucks, building roads or filling up gas. americans couldnt live without cars!

most americans would find it hard to imagine life without a car. however, some have realized the serious problem of air pollution caused by cars. the polluted air becomes poisonous and dangerous to health.

one way to get rid of the polluted air is to make a car without pollution. but to build a clean car is easier said than done. progress in this field is slow.

another way is to replace car engines with something else. inventors are now working on steam cars as well as electric cars. many makers believe that it will take years to develop a practical model for us.

to prevent the world from being polluted by cars, we have to make some changes in our lives. americans, for example, have to cut down on the number of their total cars.they are encouraged to use bicycles, which are thought to help keep the air clean.

How to protect the environment

Its very impont for us to protect the environment good environment can make people feel happy and fit.To improve the environment means to improve our life.we should plant more trees and flowers around us.we shouldnt cut them down.we should stop factories from pouring west water into river.Dont draw on public walls.After all,its our duty to protect the environment.We hope our world will become more and more beautiful.

中国以占世界6%的水资源，养活着世界22%的人口。人多水少，水资源时空分布不均，伴随水污染严重、生态与环境恶化等问题，很不乐观。

今年，我国大西南焦渴难耐：河流见底，水库干涸，饮水匮乏，土地欠种，水运断航……云南、广西、贵州、四川、重庆等省市旱情还在加剧。

大家都知道“桂林山水甲天下”吧?可是这场60年不遇的大旱彻底摧毁了桂林的“秀水”。偌大的漓江似乎变成了一条小溪，大部分河床已经裸露了出来，引得许多孩童在上面捡石子;往下看，漓江水底的石子清晰可见，来回穿梭的游船不时地拐弯以避开浅滩。

泼水节是傣族的重要节日，对于傣族群众的意义相当于春节，泼水节也是云南少数民族节日中影响面最大，参加人数最多的节日，是西南旅游的大热点。当地从尊重民俗的角度出发，虽然不会因为干旱而取消泼水节。但在严重旱情面前，今年泼水节和往年会有一些不同，今年政府不会组织泼水狂欢活动，并会采取一些积极措施，引导大家尽量小泼，不要大泼。 当地一些傣族群众也表示，他们将采用象征性泼水的方式来彼此祝福，用树枝相互蘸点水祝福一下，并多以歌舞等方式来庆祝节日。

“日照香炉生紫烟，遥看瀑布挂前川。飞流直下三千尺，疑是银河落九天。”

大家一定记得李白的这首脍炙人口的《望庐山瀑布》吗?

唉!以后这样的美景恐怕只能在诗句中品味了。就连亚洲最大瀑布、我国第一大瀑布、贵州的著名景点——黄果树大瀑布，也受上游来水减少的影响，现在严重“缩水”。目前，瀑布水流只有平时的四分之一左右了。

我还看到一条新闻：记者跟拍一个找水的小姑娘，她四五点起床，带着塑料壶，四处游逛，上课时间到了再去学校。她对着镜头说，有时候见到一滩水，就用树叶舀起来喝，喝一点是一点，实在是没办法啊。

的确如此，“饮用水污染已经成为最危险的人为灾害。”目前全球有九亿人得不到洁净饮用水，二十五亿人没有上厕所的条件，每天有多达五千名少年儿童因饮用水卫生状况恶劣而死亡。

那我们应该怎么办呢?

“世界水日” “中国水周”的设立，给我们敲响了警钟。我觉得我们应该行动起来。

水孕育和滋润着地球上的一切。未来属于我们，我们有责任和义务来保护水资源。

同学们，虽然我们生活在美丽的江南水乡，但我们四周遍布的河流，已经或多或少地受到了污染，能够让我们放心饮用的水资源已经不多。让我们立即行动起来，从节约一滴水，关好一个水龙头这样的小事做起，保护环境，爱护水资源，开展宣传活动，努力成为一名光荣的“水卫士”吧!

Do you want to live in the city or the country?

I like to live in the country that the sun rises in the morning with the first golden light & the first sound from the cock.. All the animals & plants begin their life from this moment on and some of the animals begin their sleeping the new day. This is a very beautiful beginning in the world that you just can see all these in the country not in the city.

And for people , the people in the country are kind although they are ungrace-ful .that is not important that you will feel what is the realest in the friendship of people.

Are people kinder in the city or the country?

The people live in the country is kinder than the people live in the city . this is so sure that I just feel all this from my grandparents . My grandpatents both are country people. Their family is poor that they even do not have more money after they finish all their meals.but my mother was so so interested in studying. My grandparents got five children & gave the choice to study to allof them .
