No one can have failed to notice the fact that water shortage is a grave problem with which the whole world is confronted. Actually, it has become so widespread that it has severely affected peoples daily life and hindered the development of the global economy.

A number of factors could account for the problem, but the following might be the critical ones. First, with the development of agriculture and industry, an increasing amount of water is needed. Secondly, the ever-increasing population is another leading cause of water shortage. Besides, the global tendency of warming up also contributes to the problem. Whats worse, pollution and waste of fresh water aggravate the situation.In view of the seriousness of the problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. First, it is essential that laws and regulations be worked out and enforced to protect water resources. Secondly, people should enhance their awareness of saving water. The environmental pollution is worse and worse /more and more seriously today. Water is polluted; we have no clean water to drink. Many trees are cutting down, some animals is getting less and less. Some factories are pouring dirty air in the sky, the population is increasing faster and faster, resources are getting less and less…etc. Not only does it affect our lives and health, it but also has a great affection in the future. Peoples health has been greatly affected by air, noise and water pollution. Many people died of diseases. In order to live a better life, we need protect our world。

We shouldn’t throw away rubbish everywhere. We want to recycle, reduce, reuse things .Don’t waste things. This saves money and reduces pollution. Use things for as long as possible. We don’t use plastic bags. We must plant more trees and stop the people cutting them .We hope our world becomes more and more beautiful。

About Environmental protection

The air we breath, the water we drink, the animals with us...We are engaged in building a harmonious relationship between the nature and we human beings.

As a supervisor of HSE management in an oil company, I can see the environmental protection in a different way.

In 1989, an oil tanker hit a rock off the northwest coast of Alaska. 35,000 tons of oil poured into the sea. The accident was one of the worst in history. More than 34,000 birds and 10,000 animals were killed. 4,800 square kilometers of ocean were polluted.

The poured oil long-time coverd the surface of ocean and the bodies of marine creatures.We call oil as "black gold",at that time, it turns out to be "black killer".When I saw the famous French film"The travelling birds", thousands of birds are stuck by black sticky oil and died in a few days,many species are no more exist. Ill never forget that sight-shocking scene.

Therefore, we ought to bound up environmental protection with industrial safty control.

Secondly, when oil tankers use ultrasonic waves to test underwater oil stocks, many whales sensing system is spoiled by the instant powerful ultrasonic bolt. Once they were hit by a ultrasonic bolt,they were almost deaf. They cant effectively respond dangerous surroundings around them and are liable to be reeled in the engine of oil tankers or be killed by whaler and other natural enemies.Thereby,we can see the quantity of whales declines very fast.

Its a shame that a great many oil companies havent even realized that. Highly attentions needs to be paid on to keep improving the exploring technology of drilling work on the sea.

今天，我参加了社区组织的一个暑期公益活动——捡垃圾，作文爱护环境，人人有责。那天，我们是冒着38°C的高温进行的，我被热得汗流浃背。但是，我看着自己为城市清除了这么多垃圾，心里高兴极了。我边捡垃圾边想：为什么会有这么多垃圾呢？难道，那些扔垃圾的人愿意生活在垃圾堆里吗？再说了，那些人为他人、为我们这些孩子着想了吗？我认为，不管是对自己，还是对别人，乱扔垃圾都是只有坏处，没有好处的，这是一种极不文明、极不环保的行为，也是不符合“宜居重庆”和“健康重庆”要求的。

我想，如果我们每个人都愿意在美好的环境中生活，那就应该从一些小事做起，从点点滴滴做起。比如，每个人看到垃圾都拾起来，时刻提醒自己不要乱扔垃圾……亲爱的伙伴们，你们愿意和我一起做一个爱护环境的小卫士吗？让我们用行动告诉所有的人——爱护环境，人人有责！

直至我10岁那年，都不曾明白哥哥要我节约用笔的意义，难道仅仅只是为了省一笔钱？不！在一节体育课上，我终于明白了哥哥的用意。

那天，体育课上，同学们解散后，我独自一人在一年级门前走过，一年级的小朋友正在上课，我无意间听到教室里的老师说：“同学们，你们知道铅笔是怎么来的吗？它是由木头加工而成的，所以我们要节约用笔。”听到这句话，我心头的那个问号顿时不翼而飞了，既然铅笔是由木头加工而成的，那木头就是人工砍的，而砍树则大大破坏环境，那么浪费铅笔不就等于破坏环境吗？所以，我们一定要少用铅笔。

现在，我们都应该知道，节约、环保只是举手之劳，少用一支铅笔，捡起一张废纸，利用自己不要的纸张做草稿，那都是爱护环境，“蓝天之下你我他，卫生环境靠大家！”让我们为了心里那个梦想，为了拥有一片纯洁无暇的天空而行动起来吧！
