In my opinion, two of the most critical causes of this waste material problem are the increased consumption and a shortage of space for landfill.

To begin with, modern lifestyle has contributed greatly to the increasing amount of waste and garbage we produce everyday. In other words, we have turned into a materialistic and mass-consumption society where we use more and throw away more than ever before. Moreover, countries are running out of space to store garbage and waste material. In fact, securing land for waste disposal raises controversies in many countries.

To solve this intractable problem, every citizen needs to participate in producing less garbage. (7)保护我们的城市(Saving Our City)

It is very important to deal with the rubbish in cities.

Rubbish must be thrown away or reused properly.

Or it may cause a lot of problems.

It may pollute the air and water.

People may get ill when they breathe the polluted air or drink the polluted water.

Our city has started to face the problem.

Some rubbish is sorted and sent to a certain place .

Waste gas is cleaned before it goes into the air.

Waste water is also cleaned before it is poured into rivers.

People should be prevented from throwing rubbish everywhere.

We should try our best to take care of our environment and fight against pollution.

地球——一个蓝宝石般的星球，他是我们能赖以生存的家园，蓝色的大海，绿色的森林，辽阔的草原，弯弯的小河，蔚蓝的天空，朵朵的白云漂浮其间，描绘出一幅幅清理柔和的画卷，我们是多么的热爱您，我们的地球妈妈！

你们看现在的地球，河里有脏水鱼儿不能快乐的生活。再说被我们砍下的一棵棵大树，我们就不再有新鲜的空气。你们再想想以前的绿草如茵，那里的水那么蓝，树叶那么绿，那景色多美啊，我们为什么要把那么美的景色给毁了呢？

所以，为了我们的地球妈妈，为了我们的共同家园，我们每个人都应该出一份力尽一份心！保护地球，让蓝天更蓝，让白云更白，让鸟儿有可爱的家，让鱼儿游得更加换了，让生命之水长流，让生命之绿永驻，让我们拥有一个共同美丽的家园。

亲爱的同学们：

地球是我们唯一可以生存的地方。如今科学技术十分发达，但是也带来非常多、非常大的隐患。如滥用化学用品、大肆砍伐树木、排放有害气体和液体……都严重威胁着我们的生活和生命健康。

地球上的森林资源正在以每年1600万公顷的速度消失，人类虽年年高呼保护森林资源，但森林仍一年一年的消失。我们所用的每一张纸，无不是森林的杀手！我们处在求知的黄金时间，也是用纸的高峰期，但节约用纸是摆在我们面前的重要任务。没用完的纸，切不可随意丢弃，可以把它们装订成草稿本，这样既环保又不浪费。

生活中浪费水资源的现象很常见，我们要学会节约用水。在生活中有非常多的节约用水的方法，如淘米的水可以去浇花，洗脸的水可以洗脚，涮拖把的水可以冲厕所……据资料报告，一个没关紧的水龙头1小时会滴2。64千克水。我们何不将这些水节约起来？我真希望全世界的人们都可以用心去呵护我们的水资源。

因为资源是有限的，说不定哪一天就会枯竭！不注意节约，随意地破坏环境、浪费资源，我们的生活会越来越差。我们赖以生存的资源会越来越少。

“历览前贤国与家，成由勤俭败由奢”。让我们义不容辞地承担起各自的使命，树立环保意识，养成节约资源的习惯，为共建环境良好的社会而努力！

雾霾天气，造成城市里大面积低能见度的情况。在早上或夜间相对湿度较大的时候，形成的是雾。

近年来，雾霾天气不但严重的影响了空气的质量，更是容易引发哮喘等疾病的主要来源。雾霾天气的空气中，包含了一些尘土形的微小颗粒，这些微小的颗粒是我们用肉眼无法看见的。这些微小的颗粒足以使人们得上肺病。它们，可称得上是无形杀手。那么，雾霾天气究竟是由什么而引起的呢?其实，雾霾天气就是由汽车尾、炒菜的油烟、还有吸烟吐出的烟、烟花的烟形成的，从而引发雾霾天气的出现。

不要说雾霾天气是杀手，更不要说雾霾天气很可怕，其实，真正的凶手还是我们人类，是人类不懂得保护环境，是人类要破坏自己的家园，所以才引起雾霾天气，这些都是人类自食其果。

当然啦，现在的局势还是无法挽回，我们还是可以阻止雾霾天气的。我们可以把汽车改成骑自行车;可以不吃炒菜，吃炖菜;可以戒烟或可以把吸完烟的烟头仍到垃圾桶里;可以少放烟花爆竹;还可以多种植花草树木，来净化环境。只有我们选择低碳生活，才能阻止雾霾天气的发生。有时候，我真希望，汽车里喷出来的不是难闻的尾气，而是淡淡的芳香，烟囱里吐出来的不是浓浓的黑烟，而是晶莹的露珠，。我真希望，我们的家园能变得树更绿、花更红、小鸟的歌声更动听、更悠扬。

只有大家都爱护环境，才会减少雾霾天气。

校园，是我们每个人的家；校园，是我们成长的地方；校园，也是读书的天堂。我们每天生活在校园里，细心呵护着美丽的校园环境，快快乐乐，无忧无虑。可是，有时也会发生一点儿小小的意外。

记得有一次，天空下着蒙蒙小雪，地上的雪都结成了冰。下课铃响了，我匆匆忙忙走出了教室。这个课间，轮到我在教学楼门口执勤了。今天不但执勤，还会欣赏到大自然为我们创造的银装素裹的冰雪世界，真好！

我刚一走到教学楼门口，就看到一个一年级的小朋友把刚吃完的口香糖扔到了教学楼前面的花池中，我急忙跑过去阻止。我对她说：“小妹妹，你怎么可以把口香糖扔在花池中呢？学校本来就不让带糖，何况吃糖对牙齿不好，经常吃糖会得蛀牙的。快捡起来，好吗？”小女孩看了看我胸前的执勤牌，半天才说：“好吧。”说着，她极不情愿地捡起口香糖，慢腾腾地向垃圾箱走去。

我的目光随着小女孩移动，只见她明明还离垃圾箱一步远，就把口香糖朝垃圾箱扔去，却没有扔进垃圾箱。她看了看落到地上的口香糖，迟疑了一下，终于没有弯腰捡起，就若无其事地走了。这次，我没有再次叫住她，而是快步跑了过去，弯腰捡起了口香糖，放进了垃圾箱。大概是听到了我的脚步声，小女孩回头看到了我捡口香糖的过程，一下子脸红了。我没有说什么，转身快步向教学楼走去，因为我还要执勤呢。

在执勤的过程中，我看到那个扔口香糖的小妹妹在去厕所回来的路上，看到地上有一片纸屑，不但捡了起来，而且小心翼翼地放进了垃圾桶。看到这里，我突然想到那一个口香糖我没有白捡。

风儿还在吹，雪花还在飘落，虽然天气很冷，我的心却热乎乎的……

Cars and Air Pollution

Too many cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, cars are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big cities. All the time, they are pumping huge amounts of waste gases into the atmosphere. These gases are very harmful, causing disease and even death.

One possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels. In Shanghai, some of the public buses begin to run on natural gas, which does not give off as much carbon dioxide as the petrol. But it may take decades for the new models of clean cars completely replace the traditional ones. Another solution is to develop modern public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. If the price of petrol rises constantly and the public vehicles are efficient and convenient enough, most people will not buy private cars. And the total number of cars in big cities will reduce greatly.

On the whole, the elimination of air pollution needs the collective efforts from the government, the public and the environmentalists.
