The year of 2008 is getting closer and closer to us. We need to take actions from now on to prepare for the game. What we need to do most is to work on our disadvantages and shortcomings. As a student of Senior high, I can do my own part. Although I can’t transform our city into more a beautiful place on my own, I can help Beijing in small ways and encourage our classmates and people around me to follow my lead.

Let me take the environment for example, the atmosphere around Beijing is quite disappointing, factories and cars keep giving off exhausts into the air, we can hardly see the blue sky with our naked eyes, because the sky is covered with a thick layer of harmful substances. 一、要善于模仿

一些同学的办法往往是背一堆范文，然后再到考场上进行一个“剪切”、“粘贴”的工作，真正的模仿重点永远要放在一定的句式结构上，而非个别的词汇。有一个句式说：“…for the simple reason that…”表示某种现象的原因是什么，用在高考写作中，我们就可以拿来解释为什么自行车在中国如此的流行：“The bicycle is very popular in China for the simple reason that…”。然而，很多同学一谈到原因仍然是“…because…”。如果要表示“总是能够”的概念，很多同学提笔就会写can always，但理想的句子应该是用双重否定表示强烈的肯定，用never fail to。

二、要灵活变通

在批改过上万份同学们英语作文中，经常能发现一些将中文生硬地翻译成英文的表达法。有一句话叫做“立志如山，行道如水”，写英文作文，一定要有决心把它写好，有信心把意思表达清楚，这是“立志如山”;但关键是遇到问题时要有个灵活的态度，能像流水一样变通解决问题。有个翻译界的故事说：在某大型国际会议的招待会上，一道菜是用鸡蛋做的。与会的客人问翻译：“What is it made of”本来是非常简单的一个问题，结果翻译太紧张，忘了“egg”这个词，但是他急中生智，回答：“It is made of Miss Hen’s son.”这里，就是一个灵活变通的范例。绕道表达，是写作中应该常常运用的一种方法。

三、要细心观察

注意英语中一些表达上的习惯。比如在正式文体的写作中，很少用 “it isn’t”这样的略缩形式，而往往是一板一眼地写作 “it is not”。同理，在正式文体中的日期一般不缩写，阿拉伯数字一般会用英文表达(特别长的数字除外)。

许多同学在写作文时，习惯于把 “since” “because” “for”这样的词放在句首引导原因状语从句。事实上，在我们见到的英语报刊杂志文章中，这样的从句一般都是放在主句之后的。另外, “and”也常常被误放在一句话的开头，表示两个句子之间的并列或递进关系。其实，经常留心地道的英语文章能发现，如果是并列关系，完全可以不用连词;如果是递进关系，用 “furthermore” “what is more”更为普遍。

没有上进心，导致国家衰败。刘禅没有上进心，整日不理朝政，国家面临危机还玩斗鸡，最终导致蜀汉被灭。被魏王封为“安乐侯”的刘禅面对魏王的问题，竟然“乐不思蜀”，让人汗颜。开创了“开元盛世”后，李隆基居功自傲，就不再想着进取，他丧失进取心，整天歌舞升平，陪伴着杨贵妃身边，不理朝政;终于，安禄山、史思明反叛，叛军一度杀到首都长安。无奈，李隆基带着杨贵妃逃到马嵬。没想到马嵬竟然是爱妃的死亡之地;在将士们的威逼下，李隆基无可奈何，杨贵妃只有一死，才能挽回局面。动乱期间，百姓流离失所，苦不堪言。国家国力衰败，没有了往日的强盛。如果李隆基拥有上进心，爱妃也许就不会死，历史也将重写。

世间万物，我最欣赏你，树叶。

春风刚拂过树梢，你就苏醒了。

你从树枝中探出你那嫩绿的小脑袋，东瞧瞧，西望望，似是对这些世界充满了好奇。你在春风的吹拂下，在春雨的滋润下，从最初小小的嫩芽变成了小绿叶儿，远远望去，一片翠色，是那样的富有生机，迎着微风，飒飒做响。

我欣赏你，给这乍暖还寒，万物还未苏醒的初春大地添了几分生气与活力。

时间是过得那样快，你也长大了，由开始的嫩绿渐渐变为一种深绿色，连浅浅的叶脉都在你的身上明确可见。你一片一片密密挨在一起，紧紧簇拥在每根树枝上面。你一片贴着一片，不留一点缝隙，似一把深绿的大伞般。此时正值夏日，就在这骄阳似火的天气里，你不顾这烈日，依然为这大地撑起了一片阴凉。蝉儿趴在树干上演奏者交响曲，鸟儿也在你的荫庇下嬉闹飞舞，时不时在暖风中同你唱几首欢快的歌。

我欣赏你，在这般炎热的天气下却仍默默坚持，撑起一片荫庇。

日渐，日渐，你已不在是那样翠绿，而是换了一身成熟的金黄色。你不再如以前那般柔软，而是流失了水分，变得干燥又卷曲。你时常就挂在树梢上，摇摇坠坠，似要掉下一般。

飒飒秋风掠过你身旁，你终是支撑不住，飘悠悠，飘悠悠，打着旋儿从树枝上带着丝丝不舍落下，静静地躺在树干底下。一片接着一片，在风中如一只只黄蝶在半空中纷飞起舞，又如飘渺若纱的梦幻女郎，轻轻地低落。最后，直到最后一片被风吹落，你带着所有对大地的思念和对自身生命的留恋，跳跃着，旋转着，轻舞飞扬着，翩然落下，投向大地，铺成了一片略带着褐色的金黄的地毯。

但你并没有就这样睡去，你用尽你生命剩余的所有力量，慢慢融入树的根部，为来年春季更好的成长提供了养分。当你完成了你所有的使命，也诠释了你这一生的意义，之后你便带着你自身甜蜜的梦，安然的长眠于土地中。

都说落叶是无情的，可有多少人知道你是多么的无私，你究竟付出了多少。你为了更多生命更好的成长，默默奉献。这也是我最欣赏你的地方。

我最欣赏你，树叶。我欣赏你为这大地带来的生机，欣赏你在炎炎烈日下坚持撑起一片阴凉，更欣赏你在生命即将结束时仍在为更多生命默默付出的精神!这是你最令人我为之赞叹的地方，没有哪些能像你这样。
