一个重要原因是，我们的教学研究只是试图不断调整我们那些不恰当的教学行为，而并没有真正触及英语课堂教学改革的灵魂，即没有真正解决制约英语教育发展的理论与理念的问题。在新一轮基础教育课程改革的进程中，建构主义教学思想犹如一缕春风，向我们扑面而来。源于西方哲学思想又被认知心理学所广泛应用的建构主义，其基本原理一经应用于课堂教学。就产生了奇迹般的效果，建构主义教学思想也因此应运而生。与西方以往外语教学法各种流派不同的是，建构主义教学思想不仅突出强调了“以人为本”和“促进人的发展”的思想——这与我们的新课程改革在本质上是完全一致的——更重要的是，它是有其坚实的哲学基础的。辩证唯物论认为，世界是普遍联系的；建构主义教学思想则认为。任何学科知识都是具有联系性的，真正的语言能力是综合运用语言的能力，而不是孤立的、机械的、僵死的应答操练。

建构主义教学思想对于促进学生英语语言能力的发展也不可能是万能的。然而，在我们研究了(英语课程标准(实验稿))所倡导的六大理念时，竞发现这六大理念无不与建构主义教学思想相关联!这决不是一个巧合!如此说来，在我们苦思冥想如何通过改善课堂教学来促进学生的英语语言能力的发展这个问题时，我们是否应该从建构主义教学思想中得到一些启示呢?

Jane Eyre is a young orphan being raised by Mrs. Reed, her cruel, wealthy aunt. St. John is a clergyman, and he finds Jane a job teaching at a charity school in Morton. He surprises her one day by declaring that her uncle, John Eyre, has died and left her a large fortune: 20,000 pounds. When Jane asks how he received this news, he shocks her further by declaring that her uncle was also his uncle: Jane and the Riverses are cousins. Jane immediately decides to share her inheritance equally with her three newfound relatives.

She says that after two years of blindness, Rochester regained sight in one eye and was able to behold their first son at his birth.
