Last week, my parents told me the good news that my family would go camping

with my uncle’s family. I felt so excited about it, because I could spend the

whole night outside, which never happened before. When the day came, we brought

the equipment and bought some food. In the afternoon, the two families settled

down, then we started to walked around. My cousins and I rushed to the forest

and went to the highest point, where we can appreciate the whole sight. Standing

on the highest place, I felt so great. The world was in front of my eyes and I

thought of the old poets’ description. At night, we set the the fire and talked

happily. The parents were talking about the family chores and the kids were

playing games. It was such a happy moment for me.

The Lunar New Year occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first

four days of the year, during which people do not work except for the workers on

duty. Students do not go to school, and shops are closed.

Several days before the new year, people begin to prepare. Farmers kill

pigs, sheep, cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. Houses

are cleaned; couplets are posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at

the gate.

On the eve of the new year, each family has its members gatherd together

and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch TV until the clock

孙悟空，本领高强，神通广大，七十二般变化打得妖怪满地找牙，一心保护唐僧西天取经，深受读者喜爱。其实，唐僧犯的错，大家也会犯的。有一次，谭国强无缘无故地打几我一下，我转身给他一脚，他委屈的说：“我只是帮你拍灰，你干嘛踢我？”我一听，连忙道歉，心里暗想：冤枉好人了呀！还有最近火爆的“扶老人问题”，先不谈奶奶们的讹人心理，大多数老人可能是因为不辨是非就讹诈好心人。

记得上次我去白鹿洲公园的事吗?对了，那天下午，我们又去了温州市图书馆还书、借书了。

到了图书馆，我们吃了中饭，就开始还书了。我们把上次借的5本书全部还了，接下来就要选要借的书了。我们选了3本书。

接着，我在那里看《笔记大自然之有趣的昆虫》。这里面有3个有趣的地方：1、有些昆虫会吃掉自己的配偶，来补充自己的养分，繁殖自己的后代，如：螳螂，它会挥动自己的“大刀”，吃掉自己的配偶。2、蝈蝈会吃自己蜕掉的壳，来补充自己的养分以繁殖后代。3、蜈蚣的寿命看似短，其实长——长达6年!而且，它的脚只有44只。它长大后，它的第一对脚和最后一对脚退化了，就只有40只脚了。我看完了这本书，这本书就不用借了。于是，我又去换了一本书。

我们在这里吃了晚饭，就回家了。今天，我学会了自己还书、借书，真好呀!

The shortage of housing is one of the most serious problems facing many big

cities in China. Though the government has spent a large sum of money on

housing,the investment has not been very resultful and a housing shortage still

exists. Two generations sharing one room and newlymarried couples finding it

difficult to have a house of their own are still common cases. Housing shortage

is a problem that requires an immediate solution.

Peoples attitudes towards the solution to the housing problem are

different. Some suggest building more tall apartment buildings; others believe

that we should develop underground housing areas. I am in favour of the former

opinion. For one thing, it is cheaper to build upward than downward. For

another, living underground for a long time will do harm to peoples health.

Above all,people are unwilling to live underground with artificial lighting and

they prefer to live normally on the ground to enjoy the sunshine.

Although there may be some other ways to solve the housing shortage

problem, I believe to build more apartment buildings is one of the feasible

solutions to the housing problem.

My life is very simple. On usual, my mother will wake me up at seven o’clock in the morning. And then I start grooming. After that I walk to school for breakfast and then have class. 擦窗户事虽小，看起来也非常简单，可做起来却丝毫不能马虎。不然窗户虽然擦过了，可却是个大花脸，没有起到清洁的目的。我还常常看到有些人家的窗，下半截非常明亮，中间部份一个大弧形，上半截却是依然故我，模糊一片。我知道这不是主人擦窗不专，而是因为没有专用擦窗工具仅靠人手臂的长度而达不到那上半截，所以留下这样“弧形的窗”有碍观赏。

我擦窗户时，会准备几块质地非常好的毛巾(以不掉细毛为好)，一个简易的T型擦窗器。擦窗器的杆可以伸缩，擦窗器的头是由不沾布包着海绵组成。擦窗时采用由上而下由内而外的程序。由于家住六楼，擦阳台外侧的高处时，为安全起见就使用擦窗器。擦窗器先在清水中泡湿，擦脏后再在水中洗清，如此循环反复。擦窗时窗框一定不能漏擦，不然一阵小雨，就能让窗框上的污垢顺流而下，污染了你的劳动成果，所以千万不能因小失大前功尽弃的。

窗户去尘后，这才是成功的第一步。接下来要用洁净的干毛巾把玻璃上的水珠擦试掉，去掉潮气的玻璃会清晰的显示出哪块区域已经明晃晃了，又哪块区域还是个大花脸。这就非常需要耐心和细致，把花脸处再做擦试。

我家西阳台下面是个围墙，没有人家的院落，所以擦窗时纵是滴落些水珠也无大碍。可是擦朝南阳台的窗时，却丝毫也不能大意的，因为一楼是人家的院落，二到五楼皆有可能有衣服晾晒。擦窗本是为除尘，可是却又不能除了自家的尘而污了人家的“地”。我在擦南阳台的窗时，一般会选择小雨初晴后或是傍晚时分，这样的时刻，楼下人家不会有什么东西晾晒，自已再把擦窗器上的水尽量拧干，确保万无一失。

擦了一天的窗，非常累。可是华灯初上时，当我捧着茶杯，悠哉游哉地踱到我新擦的明晃晃的窗下，再一次检阅着我一天的劳动成果时，非常非常的有成就感，那个时刻感觉真的是好极了，累的感觉也就被喜悦的心情所代替了!

According to a recent article on Newsweek concerning children’s’ education,

there is an increasing number of parents worrying their kids to an extreme

extent, depriving them of independence and freedom by keeping them around

parents all the time.

Some people applaud this phenomenon, suggesting that kids’ safety is the

most important. Thus, they’d better not enter the hazardous society without

supervision unless they become adults. From my point of view, some of their

opinion is correct but keeping children away from independence is a completely

erroneous decision. The reasons are as follows:

First and foremost, “locking kids” may hinder their healthy growth, both

mentally and physically. The kids who are locked may have heavy reliance on

their parents, as their comprehensive skills such as communication skills or

cooperative spirit being prevented from developing.

Secondly, what these parents fail to see is the fact that the crime rate

and accidents aren’t on a rapid rise. It is the abuse of mass media that make

crimes and violence more scary. The parents, who love their kids so much, are

completely forced to live under the illusion that our society is full of riots

or threats of accidents. Thus, kids can be allowed to have more freedom such as

walking to school by himself, for instance.

From what has been discussed above, we may safely draw a conclusion that

kids should be given more freedom by parents’ effort. At the same time, parents

should take many factors into consideration such as the time restriction for

children and the evaluation to kids’ maturity and capability. Only then can they

enjoy a safe and meaningful childhood.
