Today is Qingming Festival. Its a traditional Chinese Tomb Sweeping Festival. Dad drives grandma, mom, my brother and I to Xianyou home together. My hometown is on a big mountain near Xianyou County town. After 1 hours of winding roads, we finally arrived at the destination -- my familiar hometown in dreams.

As soon as we got off the train, we could smell a fresh country smell, surrounded by green hills, and the whole countryside was so peaceful. We walked a few minutes to see an old house covered with mud, a place where Grandpa, grandma and Dad had lived before, and only Granny and grandfather lived there. I took my school report and came back home cautiously only to find mother wasnt at home. She went to my aunts and wou!d come back in the evcning. I knew that fiom a note on the table. I was still a little bit frightened as if mother would come back suddenly.

Seeing the low marks on the school report and remcmbering mothers cold face, I almost trembled with fear. lf mother know I got so low marks oa the subjects, especially English, she would tear all my cartoon books which are my fovourite. I have been treating them as my own life for a long time. But mother always thought cartoon diverted my attention from study and had a bad effect on me. Frankly speaking, I had realized it. Mother hated those books. She had warned me if I got low marks once more she would get rid of them. I Still wanted to keep those books even if I would mever touch them from then on. What should I do? I knew that any persuation was in vain. I would prevent mother from doing that.

A good idea stroke me. I gathered all the books and put them in a box. Then, I hid the box under my bed. Having done it carefully, I had a breathing spell.

Opening the English book, I sat at the desk and began to read. It was really the time that I learned English carefully, I thought.

From the sixteenth of January to the seventh of February is our Winter Holiday. I think everybody did a lot of things in the Winter Holiday. But I didn’t. Let you to listen to my story of Winter Holiday.

I spend a lot of time on the homework.. Every day in my Winter Holiday, I always got up late. then I listened to the tape, it was nine o’clock. then I ate breakfast and then I did my homework during the daytime! I’m not very slow but the homework was too heavy!

I’m unlucky on the playing too. I played firecracker but I hurt my finger with the fire. I ‘m careless to kindle the firecracker, so I’m very unlucky.

I still unlucky on my friend’s party. In the morning, I wanted to get up early but I woke up at 10:50. After ten minutes, the party would start! We are middle school students and we are busy with our lessons. So some people think we should concentrate more on our studies. If we volunteer to help others, its a waste of time. And from volunteering I have learned many things that I have never learned in class. So if I have an oppoutunity, Id like to visit old peoples home to clean up for them.
