chances. I learn a lot from my new friends and know how to communicate.

My college life is wonderful, I learn both knowledge and social skills.

释迦牟尼出家后，苦行、托钵、化缘，但一直未能证道。最终，还是在菩提树下仔细阅读“心灵般若”，才得以觉悟。

曾子曰：“吾日三省吾身。”老子说：“知人者智，自知者明。”鲁迅先生则说：“我时常解剖别人，但更多的是更严厉地解剖我自己。”自然和社会，乃至整个宇宙的映像，从根本上来讲，都是我们个人心灵这面镜子的折射。世间的万事万物，万千变化，如果不能与我们内心的宇宙相接，相沟通，是无法利益我们的人生的。所以，历来的能称做大师、大家的人们，“为学”的同时也在“为道”，“外求”的同时也在“内省”。而一个能对世界文化作出伟大贡献的民族和国家，也必定是一个十分注重反省自己、解剖自己的国家和民族。

我前两年曾写过一篇小文《自家的车库自家清》，说的是我在洛杉矶家附近散步时的一点感想。洛杉矶的居民区多数都是一栋一栋的小别墅，通常家门口有一片草地，绿茵茵的。从马路上看过去，房子的左后方通常都有一个车库，而且这些车库的门还经常开着。我经过时常发现里面并没有放汽车，而是堆着破桌椅、旧板凳、生了锈的割草机，以及纸箱子、废弃了的床垫子等等。我纳闷，车库本是用来放车的，可家家户户的宝贝车子——其中不乏奔驰和宝马，为什么却都停放在坡道上日晒雨淋呢？

由此想到人类的精神领域其实也充斥着这样的景象。

我们人类的心灵其实也有个“车库”，世人也习惯了经常往这个心灵的“车库”里堆垃圾，最常见的便是“五欲”的“财色名食睡”。结果，便是善知识的阳光再也射不进来，智慧的奔驰、宝马车也放不进去了。美国人似乎也看到了这一点，所以，他们有时也会在门前的院子里插一块木牌，上书“Grage Sale”（车库杂物甩卖）几个字，然后将车库里连同家里储藏间用不着的杂物都搬到门前的草地上甩卖。经过这样一些清理，车库间的垃圾少了，可利用的空间也大了。但遗憾的是，我还是很少看到有人往车库里放汽车，多半不过是以新的垃圾取代旧的垃圾……

这些年来，人们经常谈论的一个话题便是“雾霾”。天上的雾霾究竟都是从哪儿来的？当然，你可以说是建筑灰尘、煤灰、二氧化碳等等的过度排放造成的。这当然没有错。但为什么会过度排放呢？还是利益的驱使，物欲的膨胀。所以，从本质上讲，一切天上的雾霾其实都是人类心灵雾霾的折射。只有当人类的心灵不再为尘垢所蒙蔽时，那一片湛蓝湛蓝的天空才会对人类重新开放。

故而，相较于读“书本知识”和“自然和社会”，读好“自己的心灵”当是人生的要务。当然，这三本大书也不是可以割裂开来读的，我们读“书本知识”的时候，必定会联系到“自然和社会”，我们读“自然和社会”时，常常也需要通过读“书本知识”来对自己的人生经验加以总结和概括。

我们当中的许多人都是热衷于写书的。搞文学创作的会写，搞学术的会写，学文科的会写，学理科的会写，有想法的会写，无真知灼见的也会写。这些书将会充斥自己和别人书房，也会摆满书店或图书馆的书架……但有一本书，我们每个人无论文科还是理科，无论学霸还是末学都一定会写的，而且是一个共同的主题，那就是有关我们各自人生的书。这本书虽然我们每个人都在写，却绝不会雷同，一本书一个面目，一本书一种趣味，一本书一种精神。

Clothes are so significant in our daily life that we cant live without

them, because they are useful in many ways. For example, clothes could keep us

warm in winter and protect our skin from the heavy sunshine in summer. Whats

more, Clothes make a man just as a saddle makes a horse. Everyday we wear

different kinds of clothes to make ourselves more attractive. Suppose if we wore

In my hometown, the air is polluted seriously. However, in recent years,

the pollution gets from bad to worse, because of the increasing number of

In recent years, a series of food safety incidents, such as melamine-tainted milk, lean meat powder, the dyed steamed buns, etc, have appeared across our country. As is vividly shown in the picture, the young wife is cooking. She is asking her husband whether he has finished checking the vegetables, and her husband answers that he needs one more step. This cartoon vividly illustrates how worried ordinary people are about food safety situation in China.

Several reasons contribute to this phenomenon. Firstly, people are too concerned about making quick money and short-term success during this period of economic and social transition. Secondly, ineffective supervision is also to blame. Some food inspectors make profits from the fines of illegal companies and therefore are unwilling to shut them down.

I firmly believe that urgent measures must be taken to prevent similar cases from happening again. First of all, the authorities concerned should step up their efforts to ensure food safety and severely punish those who break the Food Safety Law. Meanwhile, we must strengthen education of social morality to make sure that companies shoulder more social responsibilities and take consumers’ interests and health into account.
