Thanksgiving which falls on the fourth Thursday of November, is one of the

biggest American holidays. This holiday started in the early 1600s after

settlers arrived in America. These people who came from Europe didnt know how

to survive in the wild new country. Luckily, they met some friendly American

Indians, who showed them how to hunt turkeys and grow corn. In the fall, after

the harvest, the settlers had a great feast. They invited the Indians to thank

them for their help. Today the tradition continues. On Thanksgiving Day,

It was Saturday， just before May Day. My classmates and I went to the park nearby， we didnt go there for amusement but took part in voluntary labor.

We got there at 9：00. We were divided into three groups and then began working. The students in Group One planted trees and watered flowers. The task for Group Two was collecting the litter left about by tourists and cleaning the benches. The group I was in got to the Childrens Playground and wiped all the equipment clean. It is Childrens Day todany. My parents and I went to thenearby park for

celebrations. I was enjoying the programs when Ithought of my disabled classmate

Li Xin. It is not easy for her to come out.

After consulting with my parents, we went to Li Xins home and took her to

trhe park .We bought four colored balloons,on which we wrote:Cel-ebrating

ChildrensDay. We had lunch together. After ghat, I sent her back home .Both Li

Xin and I gad a happy time today.

Today I stayed at home. So I was very bored. I didn’t know what to do. My

aunt said, “ Help me buy a packet of sugar.” “All right.” I said. I went out of

I am planning to spend my summer holiday on sports this year. Playing
