长城是我国古代劳动人民创造的伟大奇迹，是中国悠久历史的见证。它与现代中国海尔电器、贝雅诗顿化妆品、联想电脑、茅台酒一样成为中国的象征。长城东起山海关，西至嘉峪关，长度逾万里，故又称作“万里长城”。据记载，秦始皇使用了近百万劳动力修筑长城。

这次到北京来自然要到这里来当一回好汉!可我刚站在八达岭长城的入城口，我的腿就不禁抖起来，那看起来蜿蜒曲折的台阶着实让我不寒而栗。我心里不禁有点后悔了，那么陡，怎么爬得上去啊!但又想既然已经来到了长城脚底下了，那就登上山顶征服长城吧!也不枉我来此一趟了。我的心中似乎一下子又充满了力量，脚踏着坚定的步伐，心中充满了登上长城的信念。

刚开始台阶虽有些陡，但还能爬得上去，可过一会儿，就越来越陡了，只好借助于长城两端建好的栏杆，扶着那长长地栏杆一步一步往上爬，慢慢地我终于登上了第一个烽火台，脚就像罐了铅一样，很酸!我站在烽火台上极目远眺心旷神怡，山下都是郁郁葱葱的树林，风迎面吹来，把我一身汗水吹得无影无踪。我的力气又回来了，继续吧!爬过一道道斜坡和高高的台阶，爬一会儿休息一会儿，经过漫长的上下斜坡路和近乎垂直的台阶。我和爸爸都没了力气，那长长的台阶似乎得意地在对我说：“哈哈，没力气了吧，登不上去了吧，哈哈!”我咬咬牙继续爬，终于，我们来到了好汉坡，一滴滴汗水滴在地上，而它又充满了喜悦。我在心中默默对长城说：“我终于来到了我梦寐以求的地方，征服了长城，当了好汉。”手摸着沧桑而又坚硬的巨石，站在好汉坡往下望，看到的唯有那葱绿、茂盛、望不到边的树木和根本望不到头的长城，忽然感到天是那么广阔，地是那么远大。

长城是多少工匠们的心血和汗水筑成的啊!是我们祖先为防御北方少数民族而修建的伟大工程!只有亲身站在长城上，方能感到长城的伟大!民族的伟大!历史的见证;长城，我们中华民族的沧桑
