We will never forget our freshman year at college. In general it is a time filled with anticipation, some anxiety, and wonderful discoveries.

College is much different than high school. You may decide to commute from your home to a local campus. Without doubt, the most dramatic freshman year is for those living away from home. What can we expect as we head off into the wonderful world of higher education?

The first thing I notice is the workload. It is heavier and more intense than I ever experienced before. The major challenges of college work are large volume of reading, short deadlines, and “endless” writing. A related effect that can be brought on by the workload is doubt, frustration, and loneliness if possible.

In my early years, I did not see the value of education.

When I was going on thirteen, I started to run my own shop. From then on, I worked hard to become a successful businessman.

One day I realized the importance of the English language in the business world and started taking night classes.

I was able to communicate well with foreign customers after two years of English study. The following year, I took it again and received the highest score in my city. Achieving such an amazing result gave me encouragement and courage necessary to continue my education to the next step.

I am now in my second year of college and know that it is never too late to learn. My passion for studying and improving myself will never come to a halt as long as I continue to live.

Yesterday is my six-year-old birthday. It is important to me as I can go to

Good morning! I am Oscar, the spokesman of the Students’ Union. On behalf

of the Students’ Union, the main organizer of today’s sports meeting, I welcome

you all to the beautiful stadium. After two months’ preparation, our annual

sports meeting is held on schedule.

Thanks to the support and help from our school leaders and teachers. Though

they have many school responsibilities, they have taken time off to take part in

our sports activities. Let’s give them a big hand. Through sports, we can not

only develop our physical prowess, but also promote social and emotional skills,

and even intellectual skills, which will matter in our future lives

substantially. So hope everybody here cherish this opportunity and enjoy it.

At last, best wishes for the success of the sports meeting and best wishes

在这春暖花开的四月里，我们迎着春日的阳光，伴着万物复苏的季节，迎来了第一次参加学校组织的春季运动会。我怀着忐忑不安的心情，早早的来到学校。在老师的指挥下，我们排着整齐的队伍，搬着自己的凳子走到了操场指定位置。

运动员们各自都做好了赛前准备，有的踢腿、有的转动脚腕。我最喜欢的是我们班像风一样飞跑的杨越，他用手按摩着自己的腿。我心里暗示着杨越：老朋友，加油啊!努力啊!

400米跑步开始了，我们3班的杨越站在起跑线上，他的编号是133号。只见裁判员举起了发令，这时候场上的运动员和3班的同学们安静下来屏住呼吸，“啪”的一声，只见他像离弦的箭一样冲在前面。快到第二圈了，后面几个同学猛猛加劲，超过了杨越，他的速度逐渐减了下来，看上去他已经很累了，可他还是坚持用自己最快的速度向前冲。终于到达终点了，他得了全年级第四名!不错啊!

这场400米跑步在同学们的加油声中结束了。
