特别是在上燕子老师的活动作文课时，她就像是一个长不大的孩子，和我们一起做着游戏，参加比赛。别看她胖，玩起游戏来一点都不含糊，机灵的很，她常常自称是一个灵活的胖子。当然胖子也有失利的时候，而这时她总会自嘲自己是高龄老人，总有失手的时候，其实她就是给自己找个台阶下而已。不过在每一次的活动课后，我们的文章总是写得很精彩，燕子老师常说，只有自己亲身参与了，才能描述详细，感情更真挚。

Since I come to college, I feel so excited about the new life. Before I go

to college, I have pictured the wonderful life here, but now I find I have many

problems and the campus life is not as wonderful as I think. I need to adjust my

lifestyle.

In high school, in order to inspire students to study hard, teachers always

picture the amazing life in college, so most students treat college as the

paradise. But when they start the new life, they find the difference between

dream and reality. For me, I think I could play most of the time, joining

parties and making a lot of friends. However, study occupies most of my time. I

have so many lessons to learn. Sometimes I even have class at night. This makes

me feel unexpected.

But the time to study is not the only annoyance for me. I feel so

frustrated when I lag behind other classmates. In the college, I meet classmates

from different cities, and some of them have the talents in paining and dance,

some studied very well. So I felt small and faced pressure. Now I learn that I

should learn from them and dont treat them as competitors. Enjoying study comes

那次我在看电视，看见了一个广告，广告上有一个“水”字，由于笔画减少，"水"渐渐变成了"少"字,水是不可再生的资源，如果我们不节约用水，水总有一天会被用完的，那么我们就没有了生存的条件，那我们人类就有可能灭亡。看到这个广告后，我又想到了最近山东又有干旱了，许多人们喝不上干净的水。可我们呢?却在生活中不知觉白白地浪费了许多水资源，只要我们平时注意节约用水，把水循环利用，就可以让更多的人喝上干净的水。我脑海里飞快地闪过了一个念头：我们家从此以后要节约用水!

说干就干，我先跟爸爸妈妈宣布，以后我们家洗衣服后剩下的水全部用来冲马桶，洗菜后的水干净的可以用来洗碗，脏的也跟着进马桶吧!另外，我以前在网上看到过一则消息，说：用淘米水洗过的碗比用自来水洗的更干净，而且还可以减少洗洁精的用量。这不是一个节水又环保的金点子吗?一来节约了水，二来又少用了一些洗洁精(听说长期用洗洁精对人体有很多的危害，而且洗洁精会污染许多的水资源)，一瓶洗洁精可以用更长时间了，三、因为洗洁精用的少了，我家买洗洁精的钱又节省下来了，这是一举三得的事呀!从此以后，我一有时间就上网找节水的点子，在网络的帮助下，我家的水费一元一元的节省下来。节水即能为我家节约财政支出，又为国家节约了水的资源的浪费。

同学们，水是生命之源，让我们节约用水，不要让世界上最后一滴水成为人的眼泪。

我的作文老师是华萃教育的宋老师。她中等个，长着一张小圆脸，两只眼睛像葡萄，一笑起来弯弯的，说话声音很甜，非常爱笑。

在上课的时候，她会很认真地教我们作文。她教我们写句子，分段落。开始，有的同学不会写，她会笑着给我们讲。我们要是走神不听话，她也不会生气，总是开个玩笑让我们集中精力。现在，我们班只有一、二个同学还不会写作文，其他的都能写好几百字呢！她看到同学们的写出了作文都开心得不得了，脸上笑成一朵花。

宋老师不仅教作文，还会给我们改作文。这学期，我在家写了13篇日记。她拿回家去都给我看了，每句每段都进行修改，还写了评语。爸爸、妈妈都认真看了，说人家老师真了不起呢。我上二年级，有一些字不会写，有时会写错别字，还有用拼音。一次写作文的时候，把“地”写成了“的”，她笑着走过来给我指出来说：“你看看，这个地方有什么不对的吗？”我瞪大眼睛仔细一看，还真有错，赶紧改过来。宋老师还在一边笑呢。

海伦?凯勒是20世纪美国的一位盲聋女作家、教育家。在她19个月的时候，一次高烧让她失去了视、听、说的能力，从此她再也看不到光明、听不到声音了，可以说她的世界已经完全关闭了。

作为一个残疾人，海伦有千万个理由可以让自己什么都不做，什么都不想，可以理直气壮地享受来自父母和社会的关爱和照顾。但是，她没有这样做，而是用自己的双手紧紧地握着明天的希望……在海伦6岁时，家庭教师——莎莉文走进了她的生活，也许从那一刻开始，海伦就注定要被世人记住、崇拜。

是呀，看了她的故事，我也被她感动了，她是多么坚强，多么乐观向上。从她身上我明白了一个道理:在山穷水尽的时候，再坚持一下，就能看见柳暗花明;在灰心丧气的时候，只要乐观向上就能取得成功。因此，她就是我心中的英雄。

Shen Fang is a primary school teacher. She teaches Chinese in a fourth

grade class. She helps the boys and girls read and write. Her classes are

interesting, and the children all love her.

Shen Fang gets to school at half past seven in the morning, half an hour

before classes begin. At luch she eats together with her pupils.

After class she corrects their home work. She leaves school at six. She is

busy with her work all the day, because she loves teaching children.

I understand your well-respected college offers a number of places to overseas students every year, and I am writing to enquire about the application procedure.

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are History, Economics and English Literature. In addition to these subjects, "Use of English" is also a compulsory subject because a pass in English is a minimum requirement for admission to most faculties of the University of Hong Kong.

Apart from academic work, I have been actively involved in extra-curricular activities. I am Chairman of the English Club and I have represented my school in many inter-school contests.
