volunteered and decided that I would cook instant noodles. I made it carefully

according to the method my father once taught me, and when I was done, my father

Seeing my father smile, I laughed too .

In the quiet evening, my father and I went for a walk, we chatted happily

and enjoyed the scenery by the roadside. It didnt take long for the sky to get

dark. In the dark night sky, I quietly asked him, "Is Dad having a good time

today?"

When I got home, I looked at my father, and there was always a faint smile

on his sallow face.

What are friends? We often talk about the topic with others. I think

Many classmates ask me about my plan for summer holiday. How I wish I could have a colorful and fruitful holiday, so I have decided to do a part-time job during the summer vacation. On the one hand, I can earn some pocket money by doing a part-time job. I can spend them freely, because they are earned by myself. On the other hand, I can accumulate some practical experience by doing a part-time job. They can’t be learned in the class or from text books. Besides, I will go over my study and do some preview. During last summer vacation, I paid a visit to my uncle’s. It was the first time I had seen the sea. Tow years ago my uncle, a closed friend of my father, transferred from Shanxi to Yantai, a beautiful port city; and then my aunt joined him a couple months later. And a year later I became their guest and was going to stay with them for a week. I was fascinated by the vastness of the sea, the clean and soft sand on the beach, the seagulls flying in the sky and the beauty of the golden sunset clouds over the dark blue water. But I missed the sunrise each day, for I couldn’t get up early enough.

On the fifth day, the alarm clock woke me up when it was still dark outside, I hurried to the beach and stood in the cool breeze there, the sky was turning grey little by little, the sea was calm and all was so quiet that I felt I was surrounded by mysteries, then suddenly, in the faraway horizon, golden beans of light were shooting up into the sky. A moment later, a corner of the sun appeared. The sun was rising very slowly and reluctantly as if it was unwilling to leave the sea. At last the entire sun lay on the horizon, so big and so red, it looked like a huge ripe orange or a tender half-boiled yolk. It hesitated and shivered a moment, then said goodbye to the sea and rose into the air. The scene was very beautiful, touching and magnificent which I’ll never forget.

I think smiling is as important as sunshine. Smiling is like sunshine

because it can make people happy and have a good day. If you aren’t happy, you

can smile, and then you will feel happy. Someone may say, “But I don’t feel

happy.” Then I would say, “Please smile as you do when you are happy or play

with your friends happily. You will really be happy again.”

You don’t like crying, right? So you must prefer smiling, because you know

smiling will let people forget everything unhappy. Every day, we see teachers or

students and say, “Hi/Hello! How are you?” At the same time, you are smiling,

right?

Smiling can let you have more friends. With a smile, people will know

you’re a kind person. They will talk with you, so you will have more and more

friends.

So I say, smiling is like a flower, the sunshine, warmth. It will give you

happiness.

Skiing is a desirable activity fro’ young people. It provides the excitement that theyouth is commonly seeking. The skiers can enjoy the thrill of gliding at tremendous speed down a gleaming,white mountain slope. Often, with split second tinting, they must dodge trees, stumps, and rocks——or find themselves suddenly sprawling in the snow. If they have more than average skill, they can sall through the air in breathtaking leaps and jumps that bring excitement to the onlookers as well. True, there is danger in this excitement,but that is a risk the youth enjoys. Furthermore, skiing is healthful. It provides exercise, often very strenuous as the skiers trudge up a mountain path or work their way on skis up a slope of deep snow. The best of skiers know that they need strong muscles to successfully control their skis, so they exercise to keep themselves physically fit. Fathers Day is a holiday to celebrate fatherhood and parenting by males,

just as Mothers Day celebrates motherhood. Typically giving gifts to fathers

and celebrating as a family is the main event of the day. Fathers Day is

celebrated on different days in different countries.

Fathers Day exists almost all over the world to honor and commemorate

fathers or forefathers. In the Roman Catholic tradition, Fathers Day is

celebrated on Saint Josephs Day, March 19, though in most countries Fathers

Day is a secular celebration.

In recent years, retailers have adapted to the holiday by selling

male-oriented gifts such as electronics and tools. Schools and other childrens

programs commonly have activities to make Fathers Day gifts.

In the United States, the driving force behind the establishment of the

celebration of Fathers Day was Mrs Sonora Smart Dodd, born in Creston,

Washington. Her father, the Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart, as a single

parent raised his six children in Spokane, Washington. She was inspired by Anna

Jarviss efforts to establish Mothers Day. Although she initially suggested

June 5, the anniversary of her fathers death, she did not provide the

organizers with enough time to make arrangements, and the celebration was

deferred to the third Sunday of June. The first Fathers Day was celebrated on

June 19, 1910, in Spokane.

Unofficial support from such figures as William Jennings Bryan was

immediate and widespread. President Woodrow Wilson was personally feted by his

family in 1916. President Calvin Coolidge recommended it as a national holiday

in 1924. In 1966, President Lyndon Johnson made Fathers Day a holiday to be

celebrated on the third Sunday of June. The holiday was not officially

recognized until 1972, during the presidency of Richard Nixon.

读过此书，受益匪浅，感悟自己在为病人服务的过程中欠缺的东西太多，为病人考虑的太少。虽然已做了多年的护士，但从书本学到的护理心理学及医院要求的护理理念来评价自己肯定是不合格的。因为我很少想到为了病房空气新鲜而为病人开一扇窗，在暴风雨来临时也很少想到要为病人关一扇窗，在夜深时也忘了为病人关一盏灯;总是忽略病人的卧位、床单位是否舒适;在每次例行晨间护理时也只是走于形式，从未为病人想过做晨间护理的合适时间，或许有些病人还在睡梦中，或许有些病人还在吃早餐;对于饮食的指导也太肤浅，没

有了解病人的胃口，听听病人爱吃什么，只是一味地要求病人按我们所提供的食物吃，有时我们提供的病人也许不爱吃呢?等等。很多方面有待改进。

September 8, 1565 in what is now Saint Augustine, Florida[1][2], the traditional "first Thanksgiving" is venerated as having occurred at the site of Plymouth Plantation, in 1621.

Today, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Thanksgiving dinner is held on this day, usually as a gathering of family members and friends.

Thanksgiving Dayin America is a time to offer thanks, of family gatherings and holidaymeals. A time of turkeys, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. A time for Indian corn, holiday parades and giantballoons.

The Pilgrims who sailed to this country aboard the Mayflower were originally members of the English Separatist Church (a Puritan sect). There, they enjoyed more religious tolerance, but they eventually became disenchantedwith the Dutch way of life, thinking it ungodly. Seeking a better life, the Separatists negotiated with a London stock company to finance a pilgrimage to America. Most of those making the trip aboard the Mayflower were non-Separatists, but were hired to protect the companys

interests. Only about one-third of the original colonists were Separatists.

The Pilgrims set ground at Plymouth Rock on December 11, 1620. Their first winter was devastating. At the beginning of the following fall, they had lost 46 of the original 102 who sailed on the Mayflower. But the harvest of 1621 was a bountiful one. And the remaining colonists decided to celebrate with a feast -- including 91 Indians who

had helped the Pilgrims survive their first year. It is believed that the Pilgrims would not have made it through the year without the help of the natives. The feast was more of a traditional English harvest festival than a true "thanksgiving" observance. It lasted three days.

Governor William Bradford sent "four men fowling" after wild ducks and geese. It is not certain that wild turkey was part of their feast. However, it is certain that they had venison. The term "turkey" was used by the Pilgrims to mean any sort of wild fowl.

domestic cattle for dairy products, and the newly-discovered potatowas still considered by many Europeans to be poisonous. But the feast did include fish, berries, watercress, lobster, dried fruit, clams, venison, and plums.

It wasnt until June of 1676 that another Day of Thanksgiving was proclaimed.
