大连市“全民健身日”活动启动仪式7日在大连奥林匹克广场举行，来自大连市西岗区各街道的10余支表演队伍、1300余人进行了健身球操、广场舞等全民健身项目展示，大连市足协组织了600余名青少年表演了足球操。

同日，2016年全国百城千村健身气功交流展示系列活动——大连市大会，在大连黑石礁公园举行，沙河口区200名机关干部和800余名健身气功爱好者进行了健身气功等项目的展示。

据统计，全国第八个“全民健身日”期间，大连市共将组织举办各类健身活动140余项，约有15万人次参与其中。其间，大连市的市民健身中心、市体育中心等场馆开展全民健身日公益体验活动，各县市区、先导区所属健身场馆也将免费对市民开放。
