面对名利，要懂得知足。许多人奔波一生，劳累不堪，就只为追求名利。这的确是一个无比诱人战利品，很少有人能抵挡。但陶渊明却可以。他安详的坐在花园里，面带微笑，无比安逸，眼神平淡无波，享受着“采菊东篱下，悠然见南山”的乐趣。他已满足。无人说他不快乐，人人都羡慕不已。也只有他，能将知足做到这般境界。现今，多少人也都敬仰着他。名利不过是为了满足人们的求胜求荣之心，如果不懂知足，那得到只是永远的不快乐，追求名利的意义又何在呢?

面对地位，要懂得知足。地位，几乎是每个男人都苦苦追求的，但太多的人因不懂知足而一败涂地，甚至丧命。拿破仑的悲剧广被人们所知。他是一个无比出色的军事家，却被勃勃野心冲昏了头脑。他一步又一步地向上爬着到最后称帝封王，成为欧洲不可一世的霸主。但他不知满足，他一遍又一遍地想着“不够，还不够!”他想统治整个欧洲。就因这种对地位疯狂的追求，促成了他的都彻底失败。追求地位的人应该了解到，世上是没有绝对的权力的，所以，要懂得知足。

面对金钱，要懂得知足。即使人们一遍又一遍重复着“钱不是万能的”，但却从来没有减弱对金钱的追求。即使是万人之上，一人之下的张居正首辅也是如此。遥想当年，他神采奕奕的立于朝廷之上，无一人敢对他不敬，就连皇帝也要尊敬地称他元辅张先生。他的确是受得起的。他的智慧在当时恐只有高拱能与之匹敌，但就是这样一个传奇的人物，也败于不懂知足。在他死后，反张的官员从他的家中翻出金银财宝数不胜数，并将之报于皇上，一场对张家的围剿正式开始。最终，张居正的儿子被发配，家产被全数没收，下场凄凉无比。这么伟大的人物，最后家庭却落了个这样的下场，终是败在了金钱面前。钱乃身外之物。我认为还是个危险之物，由钱引发的悲剧是在太多了，何必这般追求，要懂得知足啊。

这世间重要无比的事物并不多，人的一生就是为了这几件事物而拼搏，其它的，都只是次要的，得到了，就要知足。就如刘伯温所说的：岂能尽如人意，但求无愧我心。
