there is only so much land on the earth, and so what we can do with it is limited. some people believe that human needs for farmland, housing and industry should come first, while others believe that some land should be set aside for endangered animals. i am of the opinion that we should reserve some land for the worlds animals for the following reasons.

first, mankinds need for land is constantly growing. if the demand is not checked in some way, humans will eventually develop all of the earths available land. at that time, mankind will have no more room to grow, and all the wild animals will have disappeared, as well as other valuable resources. second, humans are able to innovate and can use the land that they already possess in more efficient ways. animals are unable to do this. once their land is taken away from them they will die. third and last, endangered animals are an important part of the biodiversity of our planet. if they disappear, we cannot predict what the effect will be. therefore, we should treat such animals as a valuable resource to be protected.

to sum up, the worlds endangered animals are an important resource and we should protect them by setting aside some land for them. although mankinds need for land continues to grow, people are intelligent and inventive enough to put the land they have to better use. in this way, we can have enough land for farming, housing and industry, and preserve the biodiversity of the planet at the same time.

我的家乡在有“鱼米之乡”美称的洞庭湖畔，那里是自然保护区，我国首届“观鸟节”就曾在那里举行。

我的家乡真不愧是鸟的天堂！你看，成群结队的鸟儿时而在天空中自由地飞翔，时而在水面低低地盘旋，时而排成个“一”，比赛谁飞得快，时而又组成一个大大的“O”，在一起跳起了欢乐的圆舞曲。看到这些美丽的情景，我的心情是多么快乐！我好像也变成了一只鸟，和天上的鸟儿一起飞呀飞！

听妈妈说，十年前我们这里的鸟儿几乎灭绝。一些不法之徒大肆捕捉鸟儿，甚至连鸟蛋也不放过。可怜的小鸟有家不能回，有亲却不能聚，只好伤心地飞走了。我想我的家乡要是没有了鸟儿，不知道是什么样的情景！可喜的是，自从这里被划为自然保护区后，人们的爱鸟意识增强了，而且还设立了自然区保护法，使家乡的环境得到了改善。鸟儿们重新回到了自己的家，呼朋引伴好不热闹！这里又成了鸟的天堂！

啊，听到这些我是多么高兴！我多想大声告诉所有的人，让我们一起来保护鸟类，让我们和鸟儿成为真正的好朋友，一起在地球村快乐地生活。

i like animals very much. i have a dog, it’s my favourite animal. it’s white, it looks like a snow ball. it has two big eyes and ears. but its nose and mouth are very small. it’s very naughty.it often stares at my food when i have a meal. when i’m home it follows me all the time.

when i do my homework, it often sits beside quietly, but sometimes runs around me and shouts: wom wom.

i like my dog very much.

有一天，我在路上遇到一只小狗。它非常的可爱，它全身都是土黄色只有尾巴是黑色的。我问它：“你的主人是谁?”小狗好像听得懂我的话一样，摇摇头仿佛在说：“我没有主人，我是一只流浪狗。”

我真想把它带回家，心里想：“到底要不要把它带回家？如果把它带回家的话，一定会被妈妈给拒绝的，可是它很可爱而且还很乖，带回家应该不会被妈妈拒绝的吧。”最后，我还是忍不住把它带回家了。“哈哈，真是老天有眼啊。”我很兴奋地跑着。因为在那天回家之后，妈妈也觉得它很可爱，就问我要不要养它，“当然要啰！”我回答说。

所以，我成功收养了它。每天吃完后我都带着它去公园里散步。突然，有一天我发现它瘦了很多就把它抱出来看一看，可是，它却用一副凶恨的表情看着我，这时我才发现，这是一只母狗它生了三只小狗狗，怪不得它最近都不和我去散步呢。小狗的到来本来就让我十分兴奋，现在它又给我们生了三只小狗狗更是让我高兴的说不出话来。

时间过的飞快，转眼间那三只小狗长大了，它们个个都已经是身强力壮的成年狗狗了，我用它们来看家啊、训练等等本领。在它们三个小狗中有一只小狗它跑得非常快，如果你想赶上它的话可不容易。如果你和它比跑步的话，它会先跑一段路，当你快到它的地方的时候，它就会再往前跑一段再在那里等你。从此我们一起过着幸福快乐的日子。

喜爱的小动物当然是猫了，我家中就有一只小灰猫，十分可爱。

灰色的毛，远远望去，就像一个绒球。蒙着透明薄膜的眼睛，好似两颗黑珍珠，轻轻闪烁着。白白的，毛绒绒的小爪子，犹如四团正在滚动的小雪球。走起路来屁颠屁颠的，像个顽皮的小孩，别提有多可爱了！

一日，我在房间做作业，小灰猫悄无声息地走了过来。或许是因为它走路没有声音吧，我跟本就没有发觉它已经走进来了。突然，它纵身一跃，竟跳到了写字桌上，“喵——呜”，“喵——呜”地对我叫，吓了我一跳。我知道，它这样叫，就是说明它肚子饿了。

我立即放下手中的笔，跑到厨房，盛了一盘子的猫饲料给小灰猫吃。小灰猫看了我一眼，用头顶了一下我的膝盖，表示感谢。接着就埋头啃食猫饲料。我看着它，两颗尖尖的牙露在外面，“咔咔咔”地咬食着食物，两片小爪子还时不时地拍一下盘子，那滑稽的样子真是可爱，真惹人喜欢。

我们的小灰猫特别怕冷，一到冬天，就喜欢窝在棉垫里睡上一天，是一只小懒猫。我罚它起来走一走，它就垂着眼皮，一副没睡醒的样子，摇摇晃晃地走，像一直弱不禁风的小猫。可恶，还在偷懒!我这样想着。

无奈，我抱起小灰猫，拿起它平常睡觉时盖的小棉被盖在它身上，然后把它放在我腿上，轻轻地抚摸它那柔软而又舒适的毛。它也很调皮，老是用它的前爪来拍打我的大腿，还时不时地用头蹭我的手臂、肚子。它就这样一直在我的怀中嬉闹，直至在我的怀中睡着。

它睡着了，温顺地躺在我的怀里，像一个熟睡的婴儿，显得那样地娇小、可爱。我再次抚摸它的皮毛，轻轻拨动它的胡须，它萎缩起来，像一个害羞的小精灵。如果你见了，一定会觉得它是那样地可爱。

这就是我家的小灰猫，一只天真可爱，顽皮淘气的小灰猫。
