later， in the 1600s， in england there was an annual observance called "mothering sunday。" it was celebrated during june， on the fourth sunday。 on mothering sunday， the servants， who generally lived with their employers， were encouraged to return home and honor their mothers。 it was traditional for them to bring a special cake along to celebrate the occasion。in the u。s。， in 1907 ana jarvis， from philadelphia， began a campaign to establish a national mothers day。 jarvis persuaded her mothers church in grafton， west virginia to celebrate mothers day on the second anniversary of her mothers death， the 2nd sunday of may。 the next year mothers day was also celebrated in philadelphia。

For going on with my further studies， I took the entrance examination in a Senior Middle School last week。 I still remember there were more than three hundred candidates taking part in this examination。 For the first day， in the morning， Chinese was easy。 We were required to write a composition of 250 words on "My Home Life"， and give definitions and illustrations to twenty phrases。 In the afterno on， we took an English examination。 There were dictation， sentence formation， and analysis for oral English。 In the oral examination， I was questioned about my home life， my experience in the junior middle school and my future prospects。

On the second day， we were examined on history and geography in the morning and physics and chemistry in the afternoon。

April 1st is the holiday April Fools also known as “All Fools Day.”Its exact origin is not known, because there are so many stories as to why it started. The most plausible tale is that New Years Day in France used to be April 1st, but the King changed it to January 1st. Not everyone accepted this change for several years and those who didn’t were scoffed as fools, thus the term April Fools.

Today people from many parts of the world are recognizing and celebrating April 1st in their own unique way. Here at International school is a fruitful student body from all over the world. I decided to ask a few of our fellow classmates from IS to pass on what they did for April Fools and also pass on this tradition to this who don’t know about this good hearted holiday. Maybe through Jinan University, April Fools one day will really be global.
