Halloween

Halloween is an autumn holiday that Americans celebrate every year. It means "holy evening," and it comes every October 31, the evening before All Saints Day. However, it is not really a church holiday, it is a holiday for children mainly.

ill because of the hot weather. I was tired, sleepy and had no strength. My

parents are worried about my health. in fact, it didn’t matter. I was always in

the room with air-conditioner and opened it in a low temperature. So when I went

out, the high temperature disagreed to me.At last, I was ill.

清早，才六点来钟，火辣辣的太阳已经高挂在天空。太阳像火球似的喷着火焰，大地立刻变成了巨大的烤箱。

到了中午，天更热了！天空中的云朵都被太阳晒得化了，消失得无影无踪。刺眼的阳光照射在柏油马路上，马路被晒化了，如果一脚踩下去，脚就被黏住了。如果这时在路上打一个生鸡蛋，没过多久准能变成荷包蛋。一辆辆汽车像蒸锅似的，如果没有打空调，手伸进去烫烫的，头伸进去闷闷的。花草树木好像被批评了似的，打着卷，低着头，无精打采的。小河里都被晒得滚烫，小鱼只好撑着荷叶伞在水底玩耍，晚上才敢出来觅食。

好一个炎热的夏天呀！

吴牛喘月

《太平御览》卷四引《风俗通》：“吴牛望见月则喘，使(彼)之苦于日，见月怖喘矣。”吴牛：指产于江淮间的水牛。意思是，吴地炎热的时候较长，水牛怕热，见月亮以为是太阳，就害怕得不断喘气。后比喻因疑心而害怕。

也用以形容天气酷热。唐·李白《丁都护歌》：吴牛喘月时，拖船一何苦。

流金铄石

铄、流：熔化。形容天气酷热，好象金石都要熔化。《楚辞·招魂》：“十日代出，流金铄石些。”

浮瓜沉李

三国·魏·曹丕《 与朝歌令吴质书》：“浮甘瓜于清泉，沉朱李于寒冰。”后以“浮瓜沉李”比喻夏日的一种生活景象。浮沉於水中的瓜、李，是夏天清凉可口的食物。

“蓝蓝的天上白云飄，白云下面马儿跑……”啊，这个夏天，我终于來到了向往已久的内蒙古锡林郭勒大草原。 "The blue clouds in the blue sky, the horse running under the white clouds ...", this summer, I finally came to the long -awaited Silin Guole Prairie in Inner Mongolia.

那里的草原一望无际，十分漂亮，看着那些优美的风景不禁使人心旷神怡。在远处，还有许多的骏马在欢快地奔跑着，更有许多可爱的小羊在远处美滋滋地吃着草。草地上更是百花齐放：有金色的蒲公英;有粉色的野花，还有美丽的黄花……这些花儿真是不计其数，个个都拿出了自己最美的姿态来欢迎我们。虽然我正想把那优美的风景贪婪地看个够，但是看见其他游客都骑着马欢快地在奔跑，我们再也顾不得欣赏那看不够的风景了，决定先去骑骑马。

我骑的是一匹“年龄和我一样大”的小马：我像小骑士一样骑在了它的背上，威武地说：“加油，跑快一点……”当我们正骑得起劲的时候，草原上下起了难得遇到的大雨，我们的骑马旅行就被草原上的暴雨给打了回去。后来，草原上的牧民都说我们一行人是草原的福星，因为我们把那久违的雨带到了草原。听着这句话，本来因为下雨而不高兴的我们也咧开嘴笑了起来。

待雨停后，就有许多的蒙古族姑娘高举银杯，向我们敬酒。我瞧了一眼，银杯里竟是马奶酒，听说这种酒喝在嘴里十分的烈口。给大家透露一下，马奶酒酒精度可有六十多度呀!我从未喝过酒，何况这杯有六十多度的浓酒，但我还是豁出去了，把这杯浓酒喝了下肚，顿时，感觉舌头都大了。想了想，这种酒难道不是像蒙古族人的性格一样吗，热烈而奔放。

草原上的夏夜，因为下雨，所以没有星星和月亮。缺了它们来助阵，草原更是在夜幕的笼罩下多了一份诡异，风吹在草上，透着寒冷的气息，而我们这时候可正在蒙古包里美滋滋地享用烤全羊呢!没有星星的草原之夜，的确让人很遗憾，但能边欣赏蒙古歌舞，边品尝着美味的蒙古美食，其实感觉也很不错。在动听的虫鸣声中，睡在温暖的被窝里，暗暗想着：明天就要离开了，还真是舍不得这美丽的风景呢!

啊，这个夏天，我终于看到了名副其实的内蒙古锡林郭勒大草原!

I am planning to spend my summer holiday on sports this year.Playing

basketball is always my favourite,so some of my classmates and I will form a

small team and play basketball together.Sometimes we may have a match against

some other teams and I do enjoy the sense when we win the game.

我计划今年的暑假要花费在运动上.打篮球一直是我最热爱的,所以我的一些同学和我将会组建一个小队并且互相打比赛.有时我们可以和其他球队进行对抗比赛,我很享受当我们赢得比赛时的感觉.

Christmas Day

圣诞节

Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December. It is a very happy day for many boys and girls. Before the term ends in some schools, the children act a nativity or “birth” play, showing how Jesus was born in a stable.

12月25日是圣诞节。对许多男孩和女孩来说，这天是个非常开心的日子。在某些学校，学期结束前，孩子们会表演有关（耶稣）诞生或出生的戏剧，用来（向大家）展示耶稣是如何在马厩里出生的。

On the twenty-fourth of December, all children are very excited. Usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. The younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace, so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. The greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents. Later that night, father or mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed.

在12月24日这天，所有的小孩都很兴奋。他们常常被（父母）早早地赶上床去睡觉，以便他们的父母能准备好礼物。年幼一点的小孩认为圣诞老人将从烟囱或壁炉里下来，所以他们挂起袜子，方便圣诞老人把礼物放进去。有些贪心的人，为了能得到更多的礼物，甚至把枕套或布袋挂起来。晚一些时候，爸爸或妈妈将礼物放进袜子，并把其他礼物放在（孩子们的）床边。

On Christmas morning, the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light at two oclock, and most of them are awake by six oclock, and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. At about one oclock in the afternoon, the Christmas dinner is brought in. The turkey or chicken is quickly eaten. Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it. The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all Christmas holidays comes to an end.

圣诞节的早上，小孩们很早就醒来了。一些人甚至在凌晨两点开灯，但大多数小孩会在六点醒来，孩子们在（大人们）准备晚餐的时候玩耍。下午一点，圣诞大餐出炉了。火鸡或鸡腿总是很快被抢光。孩子们寻找着属于他们的圣诞布丁是为了确认金币是否有藏在里面。在剩余的时间里，（人们）便是玩游戏和吃食物直到最开心幸福的圣诞节结束。

Everybody wishes (hopes) to get money so that he can maintain his

livelihood。 In other words， money is so useful that it is impossible for mankind

to live without it。 For this reason， we have an interesting proverb。 It says

“Money can make the world go around。” In a word， money is more powerful than

anything else。

However， money should not be wasted。 It must be used for (some) proper

purposes。 We young men should form the good habit of not spending money in the

wrong way。

每个人为了能够维持生活，所以都期望得到钱。换句话说，钱是十分有用，所以没有它人类即无法生活。基于此种理由，我们有一句搞笑的谚语。它说有“钱能使鬼推磨”。一言以蔽之，钱比任何另外的东西更有力量。

然而，钱不就应被浪费掉。它务必用于正当的用途上。我们青年人就应养成不乱花钱的好习惯。
