A book exhibition

Dropped in at National Library to see the National Book Exhibition which will close today. Suprised at the fact that so many kinds of books are published in our country. Thought the childrens books with many pages of colorful illustrations were made very nicely. Bought a copy of the Chinese version of English and American Short Stories at a 20 per cent discount. Am going to read this through in this good season for reading.

信步走到图书馆看即将在今天结束的全国书籍。惊奇的是发现我们国家竟然出版了这么多种的书籍。我觉得富有多页彩色插图的儿童书籍印刷的相当精美。我买了一本打八折的《英美短篇小说》中文版。我要在这读书的好季节里将它读完。

水是生命的源泉，水是万物的母亲，水是我们赖以生存的物质。千百年来，人们不断用水，但却从来没有像近几年来这样肆意地浪费水。水虽然不是越用越少，用完就不会再生的资源，但是我们也不能因为它几乎取之不尽、用之不竭就能够肆意浪费。

在江南水乡，我们虽然不缺水，但是在西南、西北地区经常缺水的新闻依旧让我记忆犹新。最近一段时间，我国西南地区的云南、贵州等地爆发大规模旱灾，大量农作物歉收，人畜饮水困难，众多用了数十年的水井全部干涸，水渠内部干涸，已经有部分长草。这些消息让我不寒而栗，原来缺水是件多么可怕的事情，而江浙一带的人们从来没有体会到缺水所带来的切肤之痛，反而仗着自己拥有大量水资源就大规模浪费，这真是一件令人气愤、令人发指的行为！

我们再也不能这样浪费水资源了，我们必须要做到以下几点：1、尽量节约用水，避免不必要的重复浪费，如，刷牙时不用牙缸，而是任由水哗哗流走；洗菜时也不用水盆接水洗菜，也是让水冲洗过菜叶中后轻易任其流走；2、尽量收集还可以二次使用的水资源，如用水盆接水洗菜后，可以将稍微干净些的水放置在一个专门的大水桶里，而这个大水桶里的水是用来浇花、冲马桶等用途的。如果我们能够做到以上几点，相信我们再也不会让水白白逝去！
