Chinese intellectual revolution and sociopolitical reform movement (1917 – 21)。 In 1915 young intellectuals inspired by Chen Duxiu began agitating for the reform and strengthening of Chinese society through acceptance of Western science, democracy, and schools of thought, one objective being to make China strong enough to resist Western imperialism. On May 4, 1919, reformist zeal found focus in a protest by Beijings students against the Versailles Peace Conferences decision to transfer former German concessions in China to Japan. After more than a month of demonstrations, strikes, and boycotts of Japanese goods, the government gave way and refused to sign the peace treaty with Germany. Our great motherland is one of the largest countries in the world. It has a population of over twelve hundred million. Beijing is its capital.

We Chinese people are brave and hardworking. We have a glorious revolutionary tradition. We drove out all the enemies. In 1949 the Peoples Republic of China was founded. Since then great changes have taken place in our motherland. Now our country is getting stronger and stronger. We Chinese people are working hard to make our motherland into a powerful country.

我的祖国——中国，她是一位德高望重的母亲，我们是依偎在她怀中的孩子，我们在她的怀抱中成长。千古年来，“母亲”养育出了多少值得我们学习的英雄豪杰，多少伟岸人士。祖国，她是一只高高在上昂首挺胸的金鸡，她的气势使我们的中华人民振奋起来。

时间如弹指一挥间这么快就过去了，那书页里描述清清楚楚的圆明园被毁事件还在我脑海中时不时反映在我脑海中，那是多么大一件耻辱的事啊！是整个中国人民想之恼怒的一件事。想想那八国联军来到我们中国，来到我们以之为傲的圆明园，在我们的圆明园中烧杀抢夺掠，那场面真让人愤怒。

如今，我们的中国变得强胜了，我们的中国人民团结了起来。

我爱我的祖国，我爱祖国的壮丽山河；我爱祖国悠久的历史和璀璨的文化；我爱祖国人民的勤劳，智慧与团结；我爱祖国那生生不息，辉煌雄壮的民族魂！我是华夏儿女，炎黄子孙，是中华民族的新一代。我热爱我的祖国，我为自己是中华儿女而骄傲。

老师们，同学们，大家好，今天我演讲的题目是《我们是祖国的期待》。

站在国旗下，举目仰望那高高飘扬的红旗，眼前顿时展现出一幅雄鸡傲立的画面——我们伟大祖国的版图。心中不禁感想万千，每当这个时刻，我们都沉浸在雄壮的国歌声中，庄重而严肃的向祖国，向国旗默默许下自己的志愿。 新一代的我们身上担着千斤重担，祖国的经济尚不发达，人口众多，人均国民生产总值还比较低，不能与发达国家相比美。但我们的祖国物资丰富，地大物博，有巨大的潜力，而且祖国拥有我们这些要开辟新时代走向未来的接班人，所以我们可以大声对世界说：“我们的祖国无比富有，我们就是祖国最宝贵的财富。”

众所周知，世界杯已经持续五天了，中国队虽然没有进入世界杯，但我们并没有就因此而放弃足球队事业的热爱，因为我们执著，我们对中国足球有信心，球迷永远都不会对足球健将们说放弃!因为祖国还拥有我们，我们有理想、有抱负、有能力。我们正值青春年华，充满智慧和力量，我们深信：今日的梦想，必然成为明日的现实，终有一天，中国足球将会“大鹏一日同风起，扶摇直上几万里。”中国足球将冲出亚洲，令全世界刮目相看。 不仅足球如此，祖国的建设也需要我们的努力，我们期待着中国以展新的巨人形象屹立于世界东方，这是中华民族千百年来的夙愿，也是我们为之奋斗的理想，要实现这美好的理想，知识技术是纽带桥梁。

The International Childrens Day (ICD) is celebrated in numerous countries, usually (but not always) on June 1 each year.

The ICD had its origin in the World Conference for the Wellbeing of Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925. It is not clear as to why June 1 was chosen as the ICD: one theory has it that the Chinese consul-general in San Francisco (USA) gathered a number of Chinese orphans to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival in 1925, which happened to be on June 1 that year, and also coincided with the conference in Geneva.

June 1 has since been observed as the ICD by numerous countries, especially by Communist countries; in the Western world the ICD is usually celebrated on other days of the year (if at all)， and there is often little public awareness about these celebrations. (See the section on Germany below for further discussions.) Consequently there is sometimes a misperception that June 1 as the ICD was a Communist invention. Nonetheless, in recent years even some groups within the United States started observing the ICD on June 1.

从古至今，祖国涌现出无数爱国者，他们把祖国、民族的利益看得高于一切，把个人的命运同祖国民族的命运紧紧地联系在一起。精忠报国的岳飞、收复台湾的郑成功、中国革命的先驱者孙中山、两弹一星的邓稼先等等……无数仁人志士以铁本文来自莆田生活网的事实抒写了一曲曲爱国之歌。 终于……终于……第一面五星红旗在天安门广场上冉冉升起了，那让人耻辱的东亚病夫的帽子终于被我们抛掉了，我们伟大的祖国开始实现重整河山的梦想。1964年，第一颗原*爆炸，我的祖国开始走向繁荣，走向富强;紧接着，中国大地上又升起了另一朵美丽的白云，氢弹成功爆炸。1978年，改革开放，我的祖国引来了全世界羡慕的目光;1997年，东方之珠香港回归了;1999年，澳门的炎黄子孙也唱着“七子之歌”回到了祖国母亲的怀抱;2001年，我的祖国申奥成功，并且从此加入了世贸组织;2003年10月15日，太空中第一次出现了中国人的身影。这一切足以证明，我的祖国是一条正在腾飞的巨龙。

中华人民终于可以重新扬眉吐气了。

但是，我们应该明白，作为一名学生，我们就是未来强大祖国的建设者，总有一天，前辈们会把他们手中的接力棒满怀憧憬地递给我们，我们要有能力去接受这份艰巨而光荣的任务。

梁启超曾说过：少年强，则国强;少年富，则国富;少年屹立于世界，则国屹立于世界!冰山上的雪莲教会我们纯洁;天空中翱翔的雄鹰教会我们勇敢;遨游天迹的海燕教会我们顽强、乐观……虽然今天的我们不需要经受战火的洗礼，不需要担心国土的沦陷，但是，我们却有责任，有义务，接过前辈的接力棒，为祖国的建设出一份自己的力量。

There is a beatiful country standing in the east of the world .She has red soil ,big mountains,long rivers and hardworking people ,she is just like a diamond ,shinning all the time ,and she is my dearest country -------China !

I love my motherland !Because I love the different races of my country !Each race has its own culture and customs.Some people are kindhearted,some people are ggenerous,some people are humourous...anyway ,I cant display evry race of my country ,but what I want to tell you is that the Chinese people are great.Because of them ,our motherland is developing day by day .Our country is becoming much stronger tham before .

My country has so many great places of interest ,which is known not only to every citizen ,but also to the world .When the foreigners talk about China ,they all extend their thums and sayEn...China is a famous and fantastic country !Yes,thats ture !We have the Great Wall ,the worlds second longest river ,the oldest history and the most glorious culture .As wa all know ,China is one of the largest countries in the world ,when it is snowing in the north ,the flowers have come out in the south ,when the people in the south are enjoying the sunshine on the beach ,the people in the north are skiing on the ice .How marvelous it is !So now I can speak to the world loudly My country is really great !My country is really beautiful !

Success, as is known, is the pursuit of many ambitious people. It requires much of a person.

In my  above all, one should be a person of strong perseverance. Rome was not built in a day. On our long way to success, there are  undoubtedly many difficulties standing in the way. If we lose heart and give up

halfway, nothing can be achieved. Throughout history, we havehad many famous successful people in the world, of whom no one is weak-minded. Take the great American scientist Edison as an example, he tried experiment after experiment and had one failure after another before he finally invented the bulb, which lighted up the whole world. So we can conclude perseverance can surely be one of the secrets of success. Furthermore, one needs to work hard to realize his dream just as the famous saying goes “Hard work leads to success”.

How can an isolated person be well-informed enough to go ahead of othersIf so, that could be ridiculous. Success is what one desires. So long as one is perseverant, hard working and up-to-date, I am sure success is near at hand

As you slowly open your eyes, look around , notice where the light comes into your room; listen carefully, see if there are new sounds you can recognize; feel with your body and spirit, and see if you can sense the freshness in the air. Yes, yes, yes, it’s a new day, it’s a different day, and it’s a bright day! And most importantly, it is a new beginning for your life, a beginning where you are going to make new desicisions, take new actions, make new friends, and take your life to a totally unprecedented level! You know all this is real as long as you are confident,passionate and committed! And you are confident, you are passionate, you are committed!

You will no longer fear making new sounds, showing new facial expressions, using your body in new ways,approaching new people, and asking new questions. You will live every single day of your life with absolute passion, and you will show your passion through the words you speak and the actions you take. 我们的祖国是一位美丽的妇人，却在百年以前遭受屈辱：1860年，漂亮并且被誉为艺术宝库的圆明园，竟被八国联军洗劫一空。圆明园在大火中毁于一旦，被人们称作华夏文明的瑰宝，就这样没了。9月18日，日本向中国的东北三省发起攻击，仅四个月内，东北三省就被占领。许许多多的中华儿女成为了亡国奴，就在之一时刻许许多多的爱国志士为了给子孙后代留下一个美好的未来，献出了自己宝贵的生命。同学们，不要忘了我们脖子上的红领巾是众多革命烈士的鲜血染成的。

如今，祖国的未来就掌握在我们手中。“少年强，则国强。”这句话说得一点也没错。不要忘记祖国给予我们的厚望，好好学习，天天向上，成为祖国的栋梁之才吧。因为祖国在我、在我们心中。

但是这些成就的背后，有一段屈辱的历史，是一条条不平等的条约，一箱箱鸦片磨灭了中国人的精神，是外族侵略者让中国战火纷飞。而一个个中华儿女渐渐崛起，林则徐将多少人从鸦片中拯救，岳飞将一个个可恶的侵略者打退……他们都在为中国奋斗着，我们应该将他们铭记在心。

而我们现在要做的是，好好学习，树立远大理想，长大干出一番事业，为祖国争光，祖国应你们而感到自豪。

Firstly, perseverance let people step closely towards success. Most people want to make a big difference to prove their value. People who set their goal and keep moving would make their dream come true. However, there are some people who set their goal but they stop at the difficulty would fail in the end. I think the difference between success and failure is perseverance. If we have perseverance, even if we are not clever, we will make a great difference, but if we not, we are doomed to lose. As we all know, Edison is a great inventor in the world. However, before he invented the bulb, he kept trying for tens of thousands of times to find a suitable wire. 1860年，八国联军入侵了圆明园。他们能拿的就拿，不能拿的就砸。圆明园被洗劫一空后，他们还放了一把火烧了圆明园，大火烧了三天三夜。这座被誉“中华文化瑰宝”的园林就在大火中毁于一旦。1931年9月18日，次日攻占了沈阳。仅四个月内，整个东北就已沦陷，3000万人民变成了奴隶。1937年的南京城内，将近40万人民在日军奸诈的笑声中，冰冷的屠刀下惨遭杀害……
