When faster and more convenient ways for travel are becoming available, I still favor using my own feet. I get much pleasure from it. People travel by plane, by train, by ship, by bus. To me, the best way of traveling on a summer vacation is to go on foot.

I went to climb the Great Wall with my parents this summer vacation.I’m glad to know you’re interested in this trip.I’ll tell you as much as possible now.

The Great Wall is one of the greatest wonders of the world.It attracts thousands of tourists both at home and abroad every day.It runs across the mountains,like a dragon.

When we got there we were very excited that we began toclimbimmediately.The steps sometimes were very flat,but sometimes very steep.After two hours of climbing,we got to the top at last.I enjoyed the beauty of the mountains andtook a lot of photos.I felt really proud and thought of the famous saying:He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man.

The Spring Festival

The Spring Festival，Chinese New Year，is the most important festival for all of us。 All family members get together on New YearEve to have a big meal。At the same time，everyone celebrates to each other。At about 12 oclock，some parents and children light crackers。The whole sky is lighted brightly。 We may watch the fireworks excitedly。How busy it is！

On the first early moring of one year，many senior citizen get up early and they stick the reversed Fu or hang some couplets on the front door。 Some houses windows are sticked on red paper cutlings。

The Chinese New Year lasts fifteen days。 So during the fifteen days，we always visit our relatives from door to door。 At that time，children are the happiest because they can get many red packets form their parents，grandparents，uncles，aunts and so on。 The last day of the Chinese New Year is another festival。 It names the Lantern Festival。

So the Chinese New Year comes to the end。

Will Christmas Replace the Spring Festival？

Christmas arouses increasing attention year by year in China。 Christmas cards become popular with students。 People hold Christmas parties and exchange Christmas girts。 A lot or TV and radio programs about Christmas are on。 Meanwhile the Spring Festival is less appealing to youngsters。 Thus some people wonder whether Christmas will replace the Spring Festival。

This worry is fairly unnecessary。 Why ？One reason lies that Christmas only affects Christians，college students and joint—ventureworkers。 Another reason is that Christmas is mostly celebrated in cities。 Few people in countryside show extreme interest in this exoticfestival。 By contrast，the Spring Festival is the most influential traditional festival in every family。

I think，it is natural that with increasing exchanges with the West，a lot of Western holidays have been gradually introduced into China。 For us Chinese we should never neglect or even discard our own traditional festivals。 For centuries Chinese have observed this traditional holiday to welcome the beginning of a new year。 And we will treasure the Spring Festival forever。

My plan of next year

A new year ，a new start，when I stand on the edge of a new year，I cant help thinking about my plan of next year。

Just as the old saying：“Well began is the half of the success。”So I decide that I should be at work while the others are still relaxing ，and then ，at the beginning ，Im quicker than the others and of course I will get better result than the others。

But ，what I really decide to do is that I must make good of anytime I can spare though it seems impossible。 While，I will do my best to live up with what I have planned，and the result will prove it。

We got to Hong Kong early in the morning. It had taken us about 2 hours to come here by plane. It is really an exciting city and very different from Taiyuan. My uncle showed my mother and me around Hong Kong. We visited Hong Kong Park.

I went to Beijing on my holidays.

I went to Beijing more than eight times. Beijing is the capital of China. It’s a big city. I am very familiar with Beijing. It takes an hour and forty minutes from Nantong to Beijing by plane. There are many tall buildings in Beijing. It’s a modern city. My family visited the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, the Palace Museum, the Beihai Park, the Space Museum, etc. I went to the countryside of Beijing to go boating and fishing. I hope to go on a trip to Beijing,but my mother always tells me "you cant".She thinks I am too young to go to Beijing,and I am too busy at school.This term is over,To my surprise,my mother will take me to Beijing.I am very excited!Then I have a traveing plan for this trip:firstly I will go to the tiananmen square,I will take many pictures,then I am going to the palace museum,I can see many old builds there.secondly,I am goingto the wangfujing street,we will buy many things,for example,foods,clothes and some books.then I will go home.
