Yet, we continue to use powerful machines to cut down more and more trees. We see that if rivers are polluted with waste products, we will die. Yet, waste products arestill put into rivers. We know that if the population continues to rise at the present rate, in a few years, there wont be enough food.What can we do to solve these problems? If we eat more vegetables and less meat, there will be more food available. Land for crops feeds five times more people than land where animals are kept. Our natural resources will last longer if we learn to recycie them. The world population will not rise so quickly if people use modern methods of birth control. Finally, if we educate people to think about the problems we shall have a better and cleaner planet in the future.

当我们在享受美好生活的同时，是否想到保护环境的重要性呢?

那么，请同学们关注一下我们的校园，看!操场上、校门口、楼梯过道上漫天飞舞的纸屑、食品袋、饮料瓶;瞧，雪白的墙壁上那些张牙舞爪的涂鸦……这些都是和我们校园文明不和谐的一幕啊!

同学们，如果我们大家都行动起来，争当环保的主人翁，不乱扔纸屑、果皮，不乱涂乱画，随手捡起地上的纸屑垃圾，爱护环境，把我们的校园装扮的漂漂亮亮。当我们在绿树成荫的校园小道上漫步时，一定会感到心旷神怡;当我们在窗明几净的教室里读书时，一定会全神贯注;当我们在整洁优雅的环境中学习时，一定会心情舒畅。

优美的环境，让我们懂得珍惜，学会爱护;优美的环境，让我们知书达理，更加文明;优美的环境，让我们学会谦让，学会做人;优美的环境，让我们道德高尚，使我们的学习更加进步!

记得，贺知章曾赞叹“不知细叶谁裁出，二月春风似剪刀”;朱熹曾赞叹“等闲识得东风面，万紫千红总是春”;白居易曾赞誉“日出江花红胜火，春来江水绿如蓝”。古往今来，殊不知有多少文人墨客对大自然赞不绝口。

当初，这里还是棵棵枝繁叶茂的大树，如今已变成高耸入云的摩天大厦;当初，这里还是潺潺的溪流，如今已变为工厂里排放的污水……

地球是生命的摇篮，人类是地球的骄子。若是有一天，地球母亲问我们：“亲爱的孩子们，当年我给予了你们蓝天、溪水、森林、田野，你们是如何生活的?我赠予了你们飞禽、走兽、鱼虾，你们又是如何与它们为友的?你们互相生活得愉快吗?”这时的我们又应该回答些什么?告诉她我们的天空早已不再蔚蓝，溪水早已浊不见底，森林已遭肆虐砍伐，田野早已不复存在了吗?告诉她我们改造自然的能力“很强”，现在是一个科技发达的时代，我们早就不需要那些奇珍异兽了吗?

记得是前几天，我一个人在公园里玩，忽然一阵阵熏烟扑鼻而来。“嗯!好臭呀!”我循着味道走着，哦，原来是有人在卖羊肉串呀!燃烧的木炭散发出滚滚浓烟，周围却还有去多人津津有味地大吃着。烧羊肉串用的木炭是由木头做成的，木炭散发的浓烟和一氧化碳是多污染空气啊!我边想边冲上前去提醒：“叔叔!您可不可以不再使用木炭了?这样子会严重污染空气的，如果……”我的话音刚落，就被直接地退了开，“你给我走远点!不要来打扰我做生意，我看你是小孩子，不欺负你，你可别不识相!”说着搓了搓鼻子，凶神恶煞地瞪着我。甚至就连“顾客”也都附和道：“哪里来的丫头片子，赶紧走开!”我知道再怎么说也说不过他们，便火冒三丈地走开了。

还有一次，我和妈妈出去买东西。走到楼下，就看到一堆垃圾撒落在一地，却也无人问津，我十分气愤，心想若是每一家都这样乱丢一袋垃圾，那么整个小区将会变成什么样子?我不敢再想象下去，不经意间看到了立在旁边的一块牌子：保护环境，人人有责。我看看这块牌子，又望望满地的垃圾，无可奈何地叹了一口气。我回到楼上那来一把扫帚，将这满地的垃圾扫了干净。

曾经，天空蔚蓝蔚蓝;曾经，湖水清澈见底;曾经绿油油的草地上是朵朵姹紫嫣红的花儿……可惜，这一切都已经变得是如此遥不可及。正如雨果所说：“大自然是善良的母亲，也是冷酷的屠夫。”大自然哭了，她原来也会报复我们!

那么如今醒悟的我们又应该做些什么呢?为了我们绿色的家园和健康的身体，我们要珍惜水资源，减少对水的污染，做到一水多用。另外还要保护环境，不随地吐痰，不乱扔脏物爱护花草，不随意践踏草坪。还要减少使用一次性纸杯、木筷、餐盒等。

同学们，“没有一个清洁的环境，在优裕的生活条件也无意义。”人类只有一个地球，让我们携起手来，从现在做起，从我做起，从一点一滴做起，从日常生活中的每一件小事做起，为保护环境、维护生态平衡而积极行动，为创造绿色家园而共同努力吧。

It goes without saying that english plays an important role in our modern

society. english is an international language. wherever you go, you can hear

english spoken by many people.

From this point of view, it is true that english is important to our daily

life. learning english is like learning to swim or learning to play ball. our

primary trouble is that we have tackled the study of language from the wrong

end. we are like theman who thinks he can learn to swim only by reading books

about swimming. in actuality, we learn by doing. the grammatical rules are

valuable as we plunge into the language and need some assistance. in the same

way, advanced instructions about swimming are helpful as we learn something from

actual experience in the water. but reading books never makes a swimmer and

learning rules never makes a practical linguist. the regular procedure in

learning english involves listening first, to be followed by speaking. then

comes reading, and finally the writing of the language. the way you learn

english is much the same as the way you learned your own language.

First of all you must listen and then repeat and repeat until you can use

the language easily. in other words, you have to build up language habits in

english just as you build up english habits in your own language. to sum up, we

must bear in mind that nobody can learn to swim for you. nobody can learn to

play ball for you. nobody can learn english for you. its up to you. you must

learn for yourself and you will learn if you really want to and are willing to

practice.

On May 12, 2008, there was an earthquake happened in Wenchuan, Sichuan

province. More than 69000 people had lost their lives, 374643 people had injured

and 17923 people could not be found in this earthquake. After the earthquake had

happened, people from all the field joined the rescue teams. At that moment,

people only care about one thing, that was to save more people from this

disaster and encourage the injure to be strong. After seven day, the chairman

declared that May 19 is the national day of mourning. Flags were at half-mast

everywhere on the day of mourning for victims of Wenchuan earthquake.

The mourning day is to remember the people who lost their lives in the

earthquake, on one hand, is to remind people do not forget that day, don’t

forget about the past and look into the future; on the other hand, is to

encourage the survivers to stay strong. Life is worth living for.

Although Earthquake had destroyed our home, but we can build a brand-new

one. We can rebuild our hope. Just as Nixon said so, our destiny offers not the

cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity. So let us seize it, not in fear,

but in gladness. Just have a little faith. Just try to remember that everything

will be alright. We will find what we are looking for in the future.

henry ford didn’t always pay attention in school. one day ,he and a friend took a watch apart. angry and upset, the teacher told him both to stay after school. their punishment was to stay until they had fixed the watch. but the teacher did not know young ford’s genius. in ten minutes, this mechanical wizard had repaired the watch and was on this way home..

人人都希望自己有一双明亮而有神的眼睛，而我却没想到过要保护好自己的眼睛。

我从四岁开始就已经带眼镜了。每一年都要去医院复诊眼睛两次，今天也不例外。爸爸妈妈陪着我到了医院门口，我心想：上帝啊!保证我的视力比以前要好得多。可是，事与愿违，事情并没有我想的那么简单。我们到了七楼眼科检查视力，我左眼的视力原来是1.2，现在去复诊却是1.0。右眼更不用说，自然比左眼差。爸爸看到我的眼睛纠正了这么多年了，就给我说了一大堆的道理：“眼睛是心灵的窗口，没有好的视力，看你以后怎么看东西?以后不准对着电脑玩太长时间;不准睡着看书;做作业一个小时就休息一下，看一看绿色植物……”唉，我也希望自己不用带眼镜啊!我也希望自己的视力正常啊!

眼睛是心灵的窗户，我认同。然而眼睛不能代替一切。假如我们失去眼睛，难道就意味着永远与世界隔绝了吗?不。我曾经看过着名的作家海伦?凯勒的事迹。海伦?凯勒不幸因病丧失了视力和听力，然而凭借着海伦?凯勒的坚强意志和她的老师安妮?苏利文的不懈努力，没有语言，没有光明，沉默中她们在彼此用心上打开一扇互相沟通的窗口，海伦学会了讲话，以优异的成绩毕业，成为着名的作家。虽然我的眼睛视力不好，但我也让心拥有一扇窗，就如让小草生长在大自然中，阳光照耀着它，雨露滋润着它，让它在狂风暴雨中学会坚强，让它在朝晖夕阳中学会乐观，让它在漫漫长夜中学会期待……

眼睛是心灵的窗口，我要学习海伦?凯勒的坚强意志，保护好眼睛，更何况我有一对健全的眼睛，我要通过自己不懈努力，珍惜时间，不能有“少壮不努力，老大徒生悲”的这种悲剧在我身上重演。学习好文化知识，将来一定要成为对社会有用的人。
