有多少人身在异国，心却在遥远的祖国，有多少人为祖国奉献了他们的一生，有多少人用手中的笔写下了一首首赞颂祖国的诗句······那是因为他们无论在何时，无论在何地，心中都有一个神圣的名字，那就是“中国”。

为中华之崛起而读书，是周恩来在上修身课说的，当时魏校长向同学们提出一个问题：“请问诸生为什么而读书?”

同学们踊跃回答。有的说：“为明理而读书”。有的说：“为做官而读书”。也有的说：“为挣钱而读书”“为吃饭而读书”······

周恩来一直静静地坐在那里，没有抢着发言。魏校长注意到了，打着手势让大家静下来，点名让他回答。周恩来站了起来，清晰而坚定地回答道：“为中华之崛起而读书!”

周恩来铿锵有力的话语，博得了魏校长的喝彩：“好哇!为中华之崛起!有志者当效周生啊!”

一个全民族苦苦追求的答案竟被年幼的周恩来一语点破了。

现代科学家童第周从一个后进生变成轰动了西方科学界的中国留学生，这股动力不就来自他的坚定信念——“外国能办到的，中国也能办到，为国家奉献了一生，因为他一直以来不变的崇高信仰是他归国时感人肺腑的话：“祖国啊，我回来啦!”詹天佑创造了我国第一条铁路干线;茅以升在敌人的洋枪洋炮下建造了钱塘江大桥;华罗庚在数学研究事业上取得了非凡的成就;钱学森以自己的科学知识报效祖国;黄继光，董存瑞，刘胡兰等烈士为战争的胜利献出了宝贵的生命······

长太息以掩涕兮，哀民生之多艰。所以，让我们好好学习，工作，让我们这一代繁荣富强，让中国这个响亮的名字永远刻在心中!
