According to a recent article on Newsweek concerning children’s’ education,

there is an increasing number of parents worrying their kids to an extreme

extent, depriving them of independence and freedom by keeping them around

parents all the time.

Some people applaud this phenomenon, suggesting that kids’ safety is the

most important. Thus, they’d better not enter the hazardous society without

supervision unless they become adults. From my point of view, some of their

opinion is correct but keeping children away from independence is a completely

erroneous decision. The reasons are as follows:

First and foremost, “locking kids” may hinder their healthy growth, both

mentally and physically. The kids who are locked may have heavy reliance on

their parents, as their comprehensive skills such as communication skills or

cooperative spirit being prevented from developing.

Secondly, what these parents fail to see is the fact that the crime rate

and accidents aren’t on a rapid rise. It is the abuse of mass media that make

crimes and violence more scary. The parents, who love their kids so much, are

completely forced to live under the illusion that our society is full of riots

or threats of accidents. Thus, kids can be allowed to have more freedom such as

walking to school by himself, for instance.

From what has been discussed above, we may safely draw a conclusion that

kids should be given more freedom by parents’ effort. At the same time, parents

should take many factors into consideration such as the time restriction for

children and the evaluation to kids’ maturity and capability. Only then can they

enjoy a safe and meaningful childhood.

Today is Mid-autumn Day. I have a big meal at home with my parents and

relatives. This is an important festival, so my mother was busy with preparing

时光如水，年华易逝，似水流年淡去我们多少回忆，却始终不改我们对母亲的绵绵思念。莺归燕去，春去秋来，容颜渐老，白发似雪。儿女在一天天长大，母亲却在一天天衰老。当儿女望见高堂之上的白发亲娘，他们都会投入母亲怀抱，热泪涟涟!

高尔基说过：“书是人类进步的阶梯。”这话真是一点没错。我喜欢读书，因为读书能使我进步，能使我的生活更美好。 Gorky said: "Books are the stairs of human progress." This is really right.I like reading, because reading can make me progress and make my life better.

书伴我成长，它教导着我。在小时候，爸爸妈妈就读书给我听。我很好奇父母手中的那些东西究竟是什么。后来，书教我认识了许多字。我咿咿呀呀地读着它们，脸上始终洋溢着幸福的笑容这是父母后来告诉我的。我看着唐诗、宋词书上精美的图画，不禁也拿起画笔描画起来。书又教会我绘画。这大大充实了我的生活。细想起来，我所知道的东西有大半都是书教会我的。书使我的生活更美好。

书伴我成长，它充实着我。当我步入学校的大门后，书便成了生活的必需品。课堂上，老师教我们读书。课后，我也饶有兴趣地读起课外书。随着涉猎的逐渐丰富，我对读书愈加喜爱。古典名著让我读懂了悠久的历史和社会的发展;小说散文带我徜徉在人类的智慧海洋里;科技书籍让我为时代的进步感到惊叹;报刊让我更好地融入社会。这些真是太美好了。书使我的生活充盈饱满，多姿多彩。

书伴我成长，它启迪着我。有位名人说过：“书籍是人类的精神食粮。”是的，读书就这样丰富了我的精神世界。它使我从幼稚走向成熟，从愚昧走向聪慧。

曾经有过一段时间，我沉迷于电脑。尽管我知道虚拟的网络对我危害极大，仍难以戒掉它。有一天我遇到一个生字，课毕后去查书架上的字典。我忽然看见，书籍上落了一层薄薄的灰。这层不起眼的灰尘却极大地激荡着我的心灵，我感到自己受到了嘲笑与谴责。良久，我打开电脑，删去了那些游戏。此后，我常常利用电脑上网阅读一些在书店没买到的课外书。我感到很充实、很快乐。

只有读懂小书，才能读懂生活这本大书。书能用理性战胜感性，它能使我们发现不足，改掉过失。

镜头一：你看到那几个抡着裤角到大腿上站在海边的孩子吗?那就是我与我的伙伴们;我们正在与海浪玩耍呢!我们站在比较浅的海边，每当一层层海浪向我们涌来的时候，我们都会呼叫着跳起来。更加神奇的是每当海水下退的时候，我们脚底的沙粒就好像忽然被人偷走了一般随着海水流向大海。

你听，多愁善感的小盈在说：“海水都把我们的裤子打湿了，而我们没有衣服换，怎么办才好啊?”旁边的柳红大声呼喊着说：“管它的，先痛快地玩一顿再说：”讨论过后，我们又投入到了大海的怀抱，挥洒着青春的汗水，感受着大海对我们的抚摸。

镜头二：你看到了那帅气逼人的背影没有?没错，那就是我们班最调皮的宏平。他拿着那把锄头是在锄田吗?不是的，他是在挖海马。看到这里你一定会想问。海马不是生活在深海里的吗?怎么会是用挖的呢?别急，让我一一为你解说。没错，海马是生活在深海里的，可此海马非彼海马，我所说的海马只是一种类似于螃蟹的蟹类而已，它们经常生活在海滩上的小洞里，它们的洞穴非常深，所以要用挖的。并且这种海马很难挖到，有时候一天下来也只是挖到几十个而已民。你看那电宏平傻笑的样子。你就知道肯定是他好运地挖到了一个，多幸运的家伙啊!

镜头三：这次我们的镜头切换到的是离海比较远一的一个水洼旁。这个水洼地势比较低，所以晚上涨潮的时候海水会把它灌满，而白天退潮时并没有把全部的海水带走，所以一并的那些小鱼儿也被留在了水洼里，我这次要带你观看的就是捕鱼大作战。

因为水洼里的水太浑浊看不清楚鱼在哪儿且水洼不在，所以伙伴们就用一个袋子在水洼里胡乱装出一袋子水，然后把袋子带到比较高的地方一倒，袋子里的水就会流回水洼里，而小鱼儿就会在地上活蹦乱跳，伙伴们就把它们从地上捡起来放在瓶子里。你看，这不，小征就捞出了男交大的鲫鱼，而旁边的王朋看着心里痒痒也想捞出一条，正拼命地捞着呢!

怎么样?我们这次的大海之行还不赖吧!如果你也想加入我们的行列，我们将会举双手欢迎，等待着你的到来哦!大海，你是属于我们大家的!

A star is born from dust and gas. Slowly the dust and gas make a ball. The ball gets very hot. Then it stars to give off light.

The young star grows into a giant. Many years go by. The older star begin to get small again. At last its light goes out. The stars life is over.

国庆节早上我和爸爸妈妈一起看国庆节大阅兵。

胡锦涛同志坐上车，缓慢的向前驶去。每经过一个，都会高喊“同志们好，同志们辛苦了。”解放军就异口同声的回答：“为人民服务。”然后，我们的胡锦涛同志登上天安门城楼开始阅兵。

解放军一个方队一个方队的大步朝主席台过来。他们步伐非常整齐，铿锵有力。有步兵、炮兵、女子兵、后勤、炮弹等方队，炮弹方队里有最先进的导弹，这些导弹都是我国科学家用汗和血研制出来的。有了这些先进的武器，别的国家就不敢欺侮我们了。

我爱我的祖国，祝福我的祖国生日快乐!我长大了要当科学家，要让世界各国互相帮助，和平相处。

Maybe you will surprise that my best friend is book. But you don’t need to suspect you hearing, it’s true, book is my best friend. I like reading since I was a child. The knowledge in the book makes me feel enjoyable and peaceful. When I am unhappy, I will go to find my best friend---book. And then I will forget the the things that make me unhappy and attract by the book’s content. From the book, I learn the story of Helen Keller, I know the history in the ancient times, I also know the culture of foreign countries that I have never been. Therefore, I think book will be my best friend forever.

I would like to apply for the post of Works Manager, which was advertised in The Guardian of I2 October 2004. I feel that my qualifications and experience are ideally suited for the position.

I was born in 1968, and I went to school from 1973 to 1988. In 1987 I took the General Certificate of Education, and I got good grades in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. After leaving school, I attended the Orient Technical College, where I first studied Fiber Technology and Color Chemistry; later I studied other subjects related to textile manufacture, and in 1991 I obtained the Diploma in Textiles.

After completing my studies, I joined the Top Clothing Company where I worked until 1996. In that year I moved to Prior Productions, who was pleased with my work, and as a result, in 1998, I was promoted to Assistant Works Manager there.

I enjoy my work, and I am prepared to work hard. Moreover, I am sure that Prior Productions would give me an excellent reference. I therefore feel that my application deserves your serious consideration.
